  2. And there is a map showing the location of every single one of them in the Premier Sponsor thread. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4675-td-lte-2600band-41-lte-info-teaser/ Robert
  3. It's OK that you're wrong. How can you say you disagree with this statement that I made? "There are dozens of sites I've seen from Walsenburg up through Denver that have new panels/RRU's installed but not yet accepted." It's true and verifiable. I didn't say there was lots live. But if you had a Sprint Triband LTE device, about 2/3 of the City of Denver is covered with Band 41 LTE. Robert
  4. Firing them would take even more time. And who would they use? There are just not many options here in dusty New Mexico. If they got someone else, even if they jumped on it right away it would take longer. Because they would have to come from much farther away crossing all kinds of private property, needing easements. That would be an even bigger nightmare. At least we know CenturyLink is working on it and they are bringing in some out of state crews now. It sounds like we will have one or two sites in the next few weeks. Robert
  5. I have never seen water in the arroyos between Santa Fe and ABQ before. They all are running pretty good. I never remember the Rio Galisteo below La Bajada ever having more than a trickle of water, but on Saturday it looked like a real river. Same for the Santa Fe River. On Friday evening, the arroyo in the canyon up to Los Alamos was overflowing its banks and they had to shut down the Totavi gas station and evacuate. It looked like it had as much flow as the Rio Grande in normal conditions. Crazy stuff, but much better than Colorado. I think the arroyo system works pretty well for 25 year events. Robert
  6. Or the device itself has lots of problems. That looks like some cheap Chinese deal, since it has no branding. It could have authentication issues like the EVO LTE when it came out. It may just be a weak RF performer, so he is experiencing very weak LTE signals and doesn't want to keep a connection. I'd go right up to Sprint LTE site, face one of the sectors and see if you can connect with a really strong signal. Robert
  7. Shentel will not be doing Band 41 for awhile in your market. But what about all the Clearwire Protection Sites in Shentel markets? Sprint does have to ditch the Huawei equipment in those areas for National Security Concerns. They may end up with Band 41 on them. Not a lot of coverage, but they could be screaming fast where they are at. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  8. I was very surprised, almost startled actually. Since I have a set data amount (not unlimited), I thought Tmo would allow me to use it any way I wanted. Even Verizon and ATT allow that. Very "uncarrier" like. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  9. They suck. The parts of the Albuquerque market that have ATT and Plateau backhaul already have LTE. The parts that have CenturyLink or Windstream just drag on and on. I did run into a CenturyLink guy in Santa Fe at the Sprint site near the Railrunner Station at I-25 and NM-599 Relief Route. He was there to assess the site for cabinet install location. He said they have one site with fiber to the demarc in Santa Fe...at the I-25 and St. Francis site. They are working on the rest. He said that some will be done in the next week or so, others will take up to 3+ months. He said locally CenturyLink is too busy to install fiber. He said they were bringing in crews from out of state to do work for Sprint and AT&T. He said Verizon got so tired of waiting last year, that they switched to microwave and only have fiber to two of their sites in the area. That explains a lot. 10. CDMA 800 can be fired up relatively quickly and easily. They turned on 700 sites in one week, the last week of August. If 3G is accepted, and it's a full build site, CDMA 800 can be brought online. And CDMA 800 doesn't need new backhaul. All these A/L 3G sites just need backhaul. So when backhaul arrives, they just need to send a LTE integration team out and fire it up. Only takes a few hours per site. This can be done quickly and easily. Things did not slow down last winter at all, except related to severe storms in specific locations. Tower crews like paychecks year round, and they keep working fast and hard. I remember being impressed with how things kept rolling in Minnesota even when the temps dropped below zero. And things should be even better in Arizona in the Winter. 11. LTE performance is signal strength dependent. If you have a weak LTE signal, you will have reduced performance. This is true of all LTE carriers. Most Android phones mis-state their signal strength and only show the voice signal. So many people mistakenly think they have a great LTE signal when they don't. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  12. Backhaul deployment continued last winter. And there are all different types of runs/connections. Many sites already have fiber nearby. Also, fiber can be strung overhead too. It's not always under ground. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  13. I used my Nexus 4 as a hotspot frequently. And I didn't think anything of it because I have a 5GB plan, not unlimited. And while I was on WCDMA, I had no problems. But I was in ABQ for two days next to a Tmo LTE site and used my mobile hotspot. And after about 20 minutes of usage, I got a Tmo page pop up in my browser saying I needed to cough up another $15 per month to keep using my hotspot. Since I only pay $30 per month for my 5GB plan, I just paid the extra $15. Now I'm on a new billing period and I seem to not have any problems on WCDMA using the mobile hotspot. But I have a feeling if I do the mobile hotspot on LTE again, I'm going to get the pay for the hotspot page again. Robert
  14. Welcome to S4GRU! We appreciate that you became a Sponsor so soon after joining. Hope to see you around. Robert
  15. They may have contracts they have to honor to third parties. Whereas they are free to kill Clearwire's WiMax direct sales. It won't be long until they make Clearwire WiMax MVNO's move to LTE. As soon as they can contractually. Robert

  17. I have a Sprint phone, Tmo phone, Verizon phone and an ATT phone. What's your point? Your facts are still lacking. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  18. This isn't true either. Sprint 3G tends to run great in rural areas where Tmo runs EDGE/GPRS. In my area, Sprint 3G runs 1-2.5Mbps and Tmo EDGE runs around 100kbps. And this is also true the places I travel in Colorado, Texas and Oklahoma. Just because you want to make a point that Sprint legacy 3G suvcka, doesn't make it accurate. Your posts offer nothing substantative to the discussion, are inaccurate and have a trolling quality. Please stick to facts if you are going to be negative about Sprint. And when you're going to be negative, it needs a to be constructive. If you're just going to troll our site, go somewhere else. Or we will help you get there. 19. This is far from accurate. T-Mobile has thousands of HSPA/HSPA+ sites with just T1 backhaul. Every Tmo WCDMA site in New Mexico outside of the big cities (ABQ, Santa Fe, Las Cruces) has T1 backhaul and run between 100k and 2Mbps. Most run around 500kbps. I can go out in my front yard right now with a Tmo 4G signal and it will run around 130kbps with a decent ping around 90ms. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  20. Will it stay in GSM/LTE? Mine defaults back to WCDMA preferred every time it boots up. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  21. I get 800 reports typically every week. And they largely seem to be in Samsung and Shentel areas only the past six months. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  22. That is an excellent idea. She has been stressed out lately. Thanks for the suggestion! And thank you for your support. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
