  7. I will not be able to post the summary until later today, but I have updated the maps. So you can check out the NV Sites Complete Map for all the sites accepted through Friday, September 20th. Robert
  8. No. It's my understanding that they are treating all NV sites as one phase for Band 41 deployment. They are currently doing RF planning and design through the end of the year. Then they will start equipment procurement and start the jurisidictional planning/permitting around January 1st. Since approximately 1/3 of Sprint sites will require no planning/permitting or have just easy to get counter permits, these are likely to be the first ones out the gate in the first half of 2014. If really well planned, a Band 41 site upgrade could be done in a day or two at each site. Then second third have normal permitting/planning. These will likely start the second half of 2014. The final third are high barrier to entry markets with difficult and burdensome permitting/planning. These will likely carry over in 2015. However long the cities can make it difficult and drag it out. So I expect some cities that have been really easy to work with, like Tulsa, may get Band 41 put on their NV sites much faster than say a city like Madison. 13. There is also a Protection Site in Fairbanks. Put 800MHz CDMA and LTE on that puppy and it would provide city wide coverage. But not much else without additional sites. The existing Anchorage Expedience network, especially with 800, would provide good Sprint coverage if converted to Network Vision. The Juneau protection sites would provide enough Juneau/Douglas area coverage. Then they can cherry pick new sites in other towns as needed. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  14. I never got an Airave. I live next to a Sprint site. Not needed. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  15. It should be about the same frequency. Every two days or so. My son Joey will don't he data entry in the S4GRU Database. I will Then I just update the maps and post the update summary in the thread. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  16. Sprint CDMA? Cheyenne, Wyoming. Just a little far. But now that Sprint owns Clearwire, there is technically one Sprint site in Rapid City. But it only has WiMax. No voice at all. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  17. No doubt. I'd love to see Sprint do a full NV conversion on the Rapid City WiMax Protection Site, and then expand coverage around the area. And maybe they can start next week? Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
  18. Over in the Sponsor section, we have a thread touting a special offer for members to upgrade to the Premier Sponsor level. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/4675-td-lte-2600band-41-lte-info-teaser/ For a limited time, we are offering a discount for members to upgrade to Premier Sponsor. From now through Sunday, September 22nd, you can upgrade to the Premier Sponsor level for $25 off. So if you are only $50 away from reaching the Premier level, it would only cost you $25 now. If you have never donated to S4GRU but want to go straight to the Premier level, you can do so for just $75. And remember, Premier Sponsorships never expire!!! If you are unsure how far you are away from the Premier level, send me a PM and I will respond with the amount you need to receive the upgrade. I hope to see you in the Premier Sponsor section soon! Robert

  20. Dear S4GRU Members: I wanted to drop you a line and let you know my availability is going to be much more limited over the next 4-6 weeks. I have accepted a new position and will be moving from New Mexico and relocating my family to the Rapid City, South Dakota area. I am going to be doing a lot of travelling in this period, going back and forth between New Mexico and South Dakota. I start work on Monday, but will be coming home on the weekends until I we move in Mid October. I also have to go to Phoenix for orientation. I will not be available very often to respond to posts or to messages/e-mails. I am going to be very dependent on our Staff during this transition period. Sadly, after the move, I will be outside of Sprint service. So I will not be able to keep Sprint as my primary wireless carrier. I will maintain one line for the times when I leave the area and get back into Sprint coverage. I'm still deciding on a Triband device. But this will not have any impact on S4GRU. I would greatly appreciate your help during this time. Help answering questions posed by members in public threads. Help directing member inquiries to the right thread or to the right staff member. Help by not burdening me with lots of posts and messages. And turning to our staff in public posts and sending messages directly to them first with your questions. I will swing by in the evenings or while waiting in airports to add another voice to the chorus. Also, please respect my privacy. I no longer feel that I can disclose many personal details like I used to and I will not be answering personal questions about my relocation or new job. I am really looking forward to settling in Western South Dakota. I believe the Black Hills is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in this country. And I am looking forward to being able to breathe again. I have severe allergies here that can sometimes even be life threatening. I am thankful to have such a great group of guys (and now even a few ladies) to have such a great community with. I am grateful for all that you put into S4GRU, through your participation in posting and financial support. S4GRU is now in a position that I can take a step back and our members, sponsors and staff can run with the ball for a little while. Thanks for all you do! My Best to all of you... Robert

  22. Especially when you consider new plans have 100MB roaming limit. Robert
  23. Yes and no. Sprint does not allow BYOD off contract for new lines. If you bring a BYOD device for a new line, you will be required to sign a 2 year agreement. But you will keep your upgrade and can use that any time during the two years. However, Sprint does allow you to switch devices on your account any time on an existing line, whether in or out of your contract. I change devices all the time. Several times a week. My line is currently off contract. I own about a dozen phones that I'm constantly switching out and testing. You can even swap phones online. No problems there. Robert
  24. You can renew the plan you're on. If you order the device, and activate it on the line, the same plan will be used. If you open a new account, you may not be able to in some areas, supposedly. Robert
  25. Yes, CA is the only way you can get the benefits of 10MHz without shutting down the people with Band 25 only devices from accessing the G block LTE carrier. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk
