  1. I must be the only weirdo who thinks split screen isnt very useful. I just don't use it. I switch back and forth between apps using the Home long press feature. And that works for me. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
  2. Verizon needs AWS in Rapid City. 1/3 of their LTE 750 sites drop to 1-2Mbps in the evenings. Another third drop to 2-4Mbps, and the final third are over 4. I do get between 30-40Mbps from Midnight to 5 AM though. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  3. I'm riding shotgun going up I-25 in Colorado. Note 2 will park in 1X 800 and won't work at all. My son's GS3 is a champ on 1X 800. I'm playing with it while he drives. Texts work great, so does voice. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
  4. Every Sprint site in New Mexico has 3G EVDO/EHRPD. And the ones outside the city where Tmo only has 2G work great. Typically 1-2.5Mbps. Robert
  5. I know that if my son Joey wants it, it must be a useless gimmick. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
  6. Tmo is fantastic in ABQ and Santa Fe...in the city limits. It's all 2G EDGE everywhere else. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk

  8. I can see the point to your argument. However, WiMax is soon to be no more. No more wasted resources. That will put an end to that. And the TD-LTE that will replace it will be for unlimited smartphone usage only. Which will well-utilize the network. So fear not! Robert
  9. It essentially is being shipped. The movers are there today loading up. However, I refuse to ship my family. Although I might have the cat shipped. Robert

  11. That's exactly what it would be, if Black Hills Power offered unlimited electricity usage. If Sprint metered data use like the power company, I'd say you could use as much as you're willing to pay for. I was hoping you'd say that, even if in jest. Robert
  12. I am leaving this afternoon for New Mexico. I'm going to be intensely busy through Monday with the big move. I may have time to check in a few times, but if you do not see me around, do not be surprised. Thanks! Robert
  13. When I got the OG Evo in 2010, Sprint 3G was great everywhere I went. But within 3 months the network started showing cracks. After six months half the sites were poor. After one year it was about 75%. That seems to be the worst it ever got in New Mexico was about three quarters of the sites dropped below about 500kbps. Now it's back up to about only 1/3 of the sites are unusable. Sprint raided their 3G capex because WiMax was going to rescue them. They didn't have funds to have a robust 3G capex. It was a judgment call based on what they could do. That ended up being a disaster. Sprint actually got very lucky. The two year contract model and the thought of unlimited kept people around. Otherwise, too many people would have jumped to the duopoly. Pushing Sprint out of business. This could have ended up very differently. And now with SoftBank capitalization, Sprint is going to be a serious contender to the duopoly. But it's going to take some time. But every month will be better than the last. In many parts of the country, the Sprint network is now usable. Now the next steps are to make the experience ever better and in more places, for a reasonable price and unlimited. Robert
  14. Actually there is nothing true about this at all. This is a platitude that people who want to abuse the network say. Even if everyone did not utilize the network, how would the network be hogged? This is bullshit, and we ain't buying. We are already stocked up here. Robert
  15. We know the difference between a quip and a rant. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  16. The TorC site hasn't been accepted yet. So they may have it hooked up to legacy backhaul while checking if the equipment is operational and forgot to take it down. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  17. Excellent! Good work. I like it. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  18. I don't see why they won't support Band 41 out of the box. It has nothing to do with amount of sites. Band 41 and Band 25 will be indistinguishable for 99% of users. They will just see a lot more LTE coverage in many markets. However, there could be a software limiting factor, especially relating to handoffs. And this could be the reason for the launch delay or may cause Band 41 to be initially disabled for a period after release. However, so far there has been no evidence that Band 41 cannot be active on the G2 yet. No need to panic. Robert via Samsung Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Pro
  19. What is regular 4G? The only "4G" Sprint has installed in the past two years is LTE. If you are referring to WiMax, they stopped deploying that in Mid 2011. Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
  20. This is the lowest priority of everything we do. However, Ian is running the numbers now to update the Running List. If I get the numbers before tonight, I may be able to update it before I go to bed. If I get it after I go to bed tonight it will likely be next week some time as I will not have any time to work on it over the weekend. Robert
  21. I did my picks this week. So watch out! Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
  22. I'm leaning toward this being my next device. Hopefully it will come out soon. I'm babying my Sprint roaming data here in South Dakota to keep from getting the port out letter until I can get the device I want. Fortunately I have a VZW hotspot and an ATT phone with hotspot that I can offload my Sprint data to for the time being. I want the Max! Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note II using Tapatalk
