bluefalcon13
I have used the LTE sites on the north side of the Springs and they are fast. From 8-20Mbps in my tests. LTE performance is signal strength dependent. If you are getting slower speeds, you have a really weak signal. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/ Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk I have had a very similar experience on Academy blvd. Generally 4+ Mbps even inside. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4
Craig
For the record, LTE seems to be very finicky. Some places I will have a marginal at best signal and I will still pull over 2+. Other times, with practically the same signal strength and quality, I will barely pull .25. I've also had areas (DFW and out to the NW specifically) where I'll have a strong LTE signal, yet it is utterly unusable. Not sure if that is due to the ongoing process of the build out, or if there is a bigger problem with the Dallas area network. I have to get outside of town quite a bit to be able to use LTE and while in the metro area I have to only use 3G if I want to actually move 1's and 0's

It's been a year since the launch, I'm sure the number of LTE devices has grown significantly, if not doubled. They're going to the 800 LTE and Clear LTE very soon to keep up network performance. Another reason you may see slow speeds... signal quality. If you have a marginal-decent signal, but a bad signal quality, you're still going to get slow speeds. The number of obstacles or interference between you and the site can cause this.

PeterPaschal7
Doing a little detective work, Sprint does use Mastec based on this page: http://www.sprint.com/companyinfo/scm/supplierdiversity/success.shtml Great! So basically we'll never see a top tier 4G system.

bluefalcon13
????? Robert via Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 using Tapatalk Probably a reference to the service providers... From personal experience, Comcast is good to its business customers. As far as century link, only felt with them in proposal stages, but they were on their game for that. Enterprise grade links as serious business for the providers... They don't mess around with them like consumers... Craig
I wouldn't worry too much about his comment. It was his first post, we don't know where in the US he is actually located and he hasn't followed up on that cryptic comment since. Probably just another bitter old salt in the world.

Dkoellerwx
Spent the day in north Denver, Broomfield, Boulder and Longmont. I was able to stream CNN (waiting for the president to speak) all over Broomfield and Boulder with just 3G. I was impressed. However, in Longmont I had a horrible time staying on EVDO. Keept dropping to 1x all the time all over the place. Even when I had a strong signal. Also of note, I saw numerous sites with Samasung NV gear installed all along my route from DIA to downtown. Unfortunately I was more focused on figuring out what bus I needed to catch next and didn't note the exact location so I can't report the site ids. Craig
Wife had a brief blip of LTE on I-70 near Sheridan this evening. She doesn't have the signal check app on her phone, nor sensorly so I don't know how strong or how long she had it. I'd imagine it was very weak and very brief, but it appears there is a tower near the Arvada/Wheatridge area that should appear on some acceptance report soon.
Dkoellerwx
During my visit to Denver this weekend, I found 5 sites with NV installed. 17th and Colorado Smith and Colorado I-70/I-25 interchange - High capacity site (2 antennas per sector) I-70 between exit 270 and 271A - High capacity as well C-470 S between the Alameda and Morrison exits. There were more but I didn't always have the time to note the location. You guys gotta pick up the tower spotting activities!

Craig
I've noted several towers along my drive from Arvada to DIA that are sporting NV equipment, I just don't have the time to stop or when I do have time to stop, I don't have the equipment with me to take photos so I can submit them to the "In Progress" thread. I'm anticipating a slew of acceptance in the Denver metro area over the remainder of the year. I'm going to guess we'll be at about 30--40% of towers in the Denver area streaming sweet LTE love by Jan 1st.

Hopefully that means that acceptances around Denver are going to tick up soon.
