I really hope marshmallow brings much better battery life. This battery life is making me miss my iPhone. I've tried everything I know to get my battery to last and I have to try to squeeze 11 hours out of it. I wake up at 6am so 11 hours doesn't suffice. I think this is ridiculous, androids always used to be battery Champs for me.

Consider downloading package disabler pro then you can disable some bloatware on the phone... Especially if you don't need to use some Samsung services.

I did that already :/ I don't know why my phone won't last. I don't even use it that often. The time I had it last about 12 hours was once and I only had a screen time of about an hour and a half

A lot of gas station pumps are incorporating TV's here. I haven't seen the NFC before, so that's pretty cool!

It's a great marketing tool to advertise their in store specials, and the longer you pump (and more money you spend) the more likely they are to give out freebies.

Just a couple weeks ago I was given the option to print a coupon for a free fountain drink after pumping like 15 gallons of gas.

Going to wait until I hear it's official

I too am going to wait but I downloaded and checked out the file, it's legit and will easily work with Odin. Doesn't void any warranties, etc. If we don't get the push by the weekend, I just may flash it.

seems to break no root hotspot similar to the MM update for the S6....

anyway we can get the EPST apk from the S7? i heard it still work on the S7

The first rule about illegal tethering on S4GRU website is we don't talk about illegal tethering.  Take that question over to XDA.  The top brass will come down on this quickly. :)

It looks official, I used Odin and the tar file, and it didn't trip Knox, but this process will erase everything. If you take the OTA update, you shouldn't lose your data. Boot up animations are better looking, It says LTE plus, more spectrum, better network. Still downloading updates for the apps.

Are we sure it's official? And the same as the ota will be?

Until they release it, no, we don't know.  Regardless of the "cred" anyone has over at XDA, if you're uncertain, don't do it.  The fortunate thing is that IF it is not the final build, when the final build does release, you can ODIN that final build over this build.  The downside is that you will have to rebuild the phone again as it will wipe all your data.  This might bother some folks.

EDIT, I stand corrected roll out goes live tomorrow. as per the next post.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
