Just curious mostly people that have tmobile.

uhhh hell yes....

The funny part is (well not so funny) is when you tweet in or DM the tmo people, they give the same BS answers everyone does.. and then when I call them out on it, they shift the blame to something else.  Pisses me off really, I am waiting until april to see what the new deal is and will probably switch some of my lines over..

Though I am still mad Sprint in the last year still has not covered I-15 though the state....buggy

It comes from people not embracing their jobs.. Now it's just, give me a script pads them down the road..  no one takes their job serious anymore..

Bugs me when I know me about their product then they do

I actually have a better understanding of the wireless carriers than everybody I know in my circle of family and friends and I even can easily outsmart all the wireless Representatives I talked to in all the wireless stores. It's irritating that i know a lot more than they do

What's that old saying? Walk a mile in their shoes...

I'd wager that 99.9% of the people on this thread have never worked in wireless retail and really have no idea what it takes to do so.

I worked at a mobile retail store for a bit. I was the only one that actually knew how mobile networks work. Everyone else just knew what to say (offer accessories, always.) I've been in enough to know that cramming is pretty much a standard.

I haven't worked at a wireless retail store but...I know mangers and employees at all the wireless retail stores in my area..And I even was given a chance to help a customer and I was able to complete the sale without issues as well

Looks like Tmobile is not wasting time in testing out 600 MHz equipment by Commscope in Montana.  It looks from the 3rd screenshot that Tmobile is planning to deploy dual antennas to cover the 600/700 MHz bands.

No idea.  The assignment period hasn't finished yet.  Probably won't know until sometime in April.

T-Mobile really needs it bad the 600 megahertz. I'm curious if it'll be ten by ten

I am hoping for more like 15x15 but hopefully at least 10x10.

Nope never have.. In fact have only worked 1 other job in my life.. Facilities for a Credit union for 2 years... Otherwise, work for my dad cleaning carpets... And then when married at 21 started my own cleaning company....

With that said. Dont matter where you work, have some pride and learn your craft/current employment..  Dont matter the job, make yourself as valuable as possible.

I hated school. but I LOVE to learn, I watch service guys that come to my house, and ask tons of questions... Shoot when fiber was brought to my neighborhood, I learned (in the short time frame i/they had)  how every aspect of new installs work..

I was shocked during the main upgrade period, how many "crews" had no idea what the other crews were doing....  What happens if somethings messed up?? how do you explain it to a supe or to the other company??

Sad really sad

Just commenting on the thread in general.

So to continue the thought of these employees.....

Had my brother in law going to add himself to my account (I was out of town and authorized him to do it that wasnt the issue)   Anyway they were out of stock on quite a few phones, da hell??    So I called up the store I normally go to and asked them about this.. sure enough in stock numbers are down... Sammy being the main.. but low stock on LG... There again?? why the hell is a brick and mortar low or out of phones???   I realize MANY are doing things on line... but if you need your phone NOW... Doesnt make you a happy camper...

HOWEVER... not the biggest issue..

So in talking to the sales rep (didn't know him so) I asked questions about the 2 or 3 in question... BASIC BASIC BASIC  questions... In my mind as a rep these are the 4 things you should know about EVERY phone in store... PERIOD..

Processor

Ram

Storage size

Screen size

Or have a DAMN good guess or close to

He knew NONE of these

    • In the conference call they had two question on additional spectrum. One was the 800 spectrum. They are not certain what will happen, thus have not really put it into their plans either way (sale or no sale). They do have a reserve level. Nationwide 800Mhz is seen as great for new technologies which I presume is IOT or 5g slices.  T-Mobile did not bite on use of their c-band or DOD.  mmWave rapidly approaching deadlines not mentioned at all. FWA brushes on this as it deals with underutilized spectrum on a sector by sector basis.  They are willing to take more money to allow FWA to be mobile (think RV or camping). Unsure if this represents a higher priority, for example, FWA Mobile in RVs in Walmart parking lots working where mobile phones need all the capacity. In terms of FWA capacity, their offload strategy is fiber through joint ventures where T-Mobile does the marketing, sales, and customer support while the fiber company does the network planning and installation.  50%-50% financial split not being consolidated into their books. I think discussion of other spectrum would have diluted the fiber joint venture discussion. They do have a fund which one use is to purchase new spectrum. Sale of the 800Mhz would go into this. It should be noted that they continue to buy 2.5Ghz spectrum from schools etc to replace leases. They will have a conference this fall  to update their overall strategies. Other notes from the call are 75% of the phones on the network are 5g. About 85% of their sites have n41, n25, and n71, 90% 5g.  93% of traffic is on midband.  SA is also adding to their performance advantage, which they figure is still ahead of other carriers by two years. It took two weeks to put the auction 108 spectrum to use at their existing sites. Mention was also made that their site spacing was designed for midrange thus no gaps in n41 coverage, while competitors was designed for lowband thus toggles back and forth for n77 also with its shorter range.
    • The manual network selection sounds like it isn't always scanning NR, hence Dish not showing up. Your easiest way to force Dish is going to be forcing the phone into NR-only mode (*#*#4636#*#* menu?), since rainbow sims don't support SA on T-Mobile.
    • "The company’s unique multi-layer approach to 5G, with dedicated standalone 5G deployed nationwide across 600MHz, 1.9GHz, and 2.5GHz delivers customers a consistently strong experience, with 85% of 5G traffic on sites with all three spectrum bands deployed." Meanwhile they are very close to a construction deadline June 1 for 850Mhz of mmWave in most of Ohio covering 27500-28350Mhz expiring 6/8/2028. No reported sightings.  Buildout notice issue sent by FCC in March 5, 2024 https://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/letterPdf/LetterPdfController?licId=4019733&letterVersionId=178&autoLetterId=13060705&letterCode=CR&radioServiceCode=UU&op=LetterPdf&licSide=Y&archive=null&letterTo=L  No soecific permits seen in a quick check of Columbus. They also have an additional 200Mhz covering at 24350-25450 Mhz and 24950-25050Mhz with no buildout date expiring 12/11/2029.

They're completely avoiding talking about mmWave.
