Midwest Outage

Huge outage in the midwest.  IP seems to be OK but calling and text is down.  Any insight on what goes on?  @sprintcare seems aware of the outage but not telling whats up..

Hearing the same thing from folks in Central IL. Calling and texting is not working. Have not heard anything beyond that.

Same thing happening to me in Wisconsin except that texts still work, I just get 10 copies of each message sent to me...

I can confirm. I knew something was strange when I got 20+ duplicate SMS messages from Google Calendar when I should have only gotten two. I figured Google or Sprint was having an issue. I can not make outgoing voice calls. Incoming calls go direct to VM. SMS seems useable and Data seems fine. I'm in a near north Chicago suburb.

Multiple people on down detector said that it might be due to an earthquake an Illinois!!

It was a tiny earthquake nowhere near any Sprint infrastructure.

Outage in the Midwest, well, there is an ongoing severe weather outbreak occurring.

I know comcast also had a problem in the Chicago area so it might have been related.

I think rootmetrics tested Chicago around late March for 1st half 2014.  I wonder if the outage will have any effect on Sprint's score for 2015.
