Network Vision/LTE - West Kentucky Market (Louisville, Evansville, Bowling Green)

Hi everyone.  Long time lurker first time poster.  Looks like a new tower just went up in the Louisville area.  It is located on the Snyder/71 intersection.  I just got back from Costco and I was getting some really nice 15+ mbps speeds.  One speed test I did I got as fast as 30mbps!  I also mapped it with Sensorly, please take a look there for the coverage area.

Finally after a few weeks of no progress we see a bit more, but not enough to satisfy fully.  I'm hoping they can pick up the pace as ti is being rolled out way too slow here in Kentucky.  I have a couple of my lines on my account that are up for renewal and I was really debating if I should switch carriers.  I'm really on the fence right now, but if Sprint can pick up the pace I might renew and stick around a bit longer.

Thanks for the report. That site was just accepted the other day. Nice to know it is broadcasting and not in donut mode like the two sites by me. There has been a good amount of progress made, but that is one of the first sites in that part of town.

There were people working at the tower on six mile lane/hurstbourne saturday near Dicks...a couple trucks, and another one there on Sunday. I couldnt really get a look as it's fenced. Really hoping that was sprint work, as that would light up my neighborhood nicely

I agree. North Hurstbourn I bad during the day when everyone is at work.

What's even worse is Sprint has a call center in that area just off of Shelbyville Rd and a very high volume store in the area too.  But all in good time.

I know what your saying. I work sometimes at 1400 North Hurstbourn right next to a sprint tower with great signal, but it has such a heavy load during the day it was useless. I called it in to Sprint and they stated it should get an upgrade by March of 2013. Still waiting on that upgrade. Funny thing is after 5.30 to 6 pm it speeds way up when people leave work and the load goes way down.

Hi all, I just hit 4g between Goshen and Prospect.  By happenstance I looked down at my phone and saw the status indicator.  I don't have any idea if it could be a false positive or not, nor did I have the chance to run a speed test or anything.

I was on US42, very near the Jefferson and Oldham county line.

Unfortunately the work that has been done up on the tower at Hurstbourne and Six Mile isn't Sprint that I can tell. They added some new panels to the top rack but they aren't the Ericsson panels that are being used in the area for Sprint. As for the work on the ground, like you said, it's tough to tell anything with the privacy fence all the way around the base.

On a positive note, I noticed this morning while driving down Six Mile that the tower at J-town HS has the new Sprint panels and RRUs installed. This must have happened in the past week since I drive in that area often and haven't noticed it until today. I wasn't able to grab a picture from where I was and I wasn't going to drive onto the school grounds during the morning arrival.

Has anyone noticed any 4g in bowling green checked 2 sites yesterdsy that have everything and has been that way way for a couple of weeks but still no 4g

I am all over BG everyday & hit every tower & there is no LTE at all.  I know almost all the sites but the one on Briggs Road look like they are ready to go.  I keep hoping they flip the switch any day now.

In comparison to the rest of the market, Bg has been neglected so far. I mean Glasgow has lte. However, I have noticed I am roaming a lot more often than I was prior to the first sights being launched in the state.

Roaming in Bowling Green or other areas of KY?  Depends on where I go if I roam or not.  Sprint has a lot of area in KY that is not covered.

I know what the reports say about when we are supposed to launch but I hear from sources we should have 4g of some kind before the end of september. Cause I know for a fact that we have a couple sites that has all equipment and backhaul ran.
