What are the chances this one doesn't make it to the US? I don't think I'd be surprised.

EvLeaks have previously tweeted the One Max will be destined for Sprint, of course they could be wrong

Again, all these leaks and rumors are coming from the same chinese source.  I don't even know what to think anymore and I am starting to lose patience with htc myself.  I do want a phone with a larger screen so I will wait to see how the one max stacks up to the competition then make my decision from there.  Honestly though, I think I may end up with a nexus myself.

If the nexus is released before the max is announced, it will take a lot out of the appeal away.

Yeah, if its priced at around $350 with at least 16gb to 32gb of memory, I don't see how I can pass that up.

Isn't the company not doing well financially?

Regardless, as much as I love the HTC ONE, this will probably be my last HTC phone. I'm moving over to Nexus, if and when the Nexus 5 gets released.

That's my plan exactly. Once they officially announce it I'm going to sell my HTC one and go back to my evo LTE until it launches.

I am growing tired of waiting for things to come though.  I was so excited for the GN3 and then this phone when the other did not hold up but it seems to me HTC is just always late to the party.  I am re-evaluating my strategy and may just go GS4 mini and then a Nexus 7 as I can't seem to find the "One" perfect device that is not vaporware.

-- edit, seem not a Sprint specific model

One Max Clear FCC, what's S4GRU take on this?

This seems to be some international model since the FCC documents only points to LTE Band 7 support of which none of the US carriers support.  But hey great find....since it is a start to prove that the HTC One Max is not a vapor phone.

Hopefully sometime this week, we can get some more news about a US variant of the HTC One Max.

Well atleast we know that there is a CDMA variant. Lets hope Sprint is included.

Interesting, as many leaks there have been but from the same one source, I figured at this point that this device would have only been available in a few select markets and wouldn't see the light of day here in the US.

They have the One Max in hand and didn't turn it on to see what processor it has?

I am almost starting to think that htc themselves are controlling these leaks or have some serious NDA's as far as releasing certain information to the public.  For a device that seems so close to release yet htc hasn't formally said a single thing about it(not that I am aware of anyway), I hope they have some serious surprises up their sleeves.  For me to bite on this for sure, it has to be tri-band, has more features than my One and it must have an IR port.  I have grown fond of that IR port and is probably a must have for me from here on out.

Wow Verizon just had to plaster its logo over the HTC logo on the front screen. Sheesh the need for Verizon to brand its stuff is ridiculous.

    • Kind of amazing that T-Mobile is still holding onto that speed title despite Verizon all but killing off lowband 5G on their network. While Verizon is mostly being evaluated on mmWave and C-band performance, T-Mobile and AT&T's average 5G speeds include their massive lowband 5G networks that are significantly slower.

    • Yup. Very true. We were originally on an Everything Data 1500 Plan, which got Unlimited Minutes thanks to Marcelo's "Loyalty Benefits" offer. We then switched to Unlimited Freedom (with the Free HD add-on that Sprint originally wanted $20/month per line for.... remember that?) because the pricing was better with "iPhone for Life", vs. the "Loyalty Credit" for staying on a Legacy Plan. After that, I ran the numbers and switched us over to Sprint MAX, especially for the international travel benefits. There's absolutely no reason for us to switch to Go5G Plus or Go5G Next if we're going to do BYOD by purchasing from Apple/Samsung/Google directly as we've been doing. These new plans aren't priced for current customers to switch to. They're priced for new customers, where they throw in a free line, etc. It's gone from "Uncarrier" to "Carrier". What a shame.
    • Strange business model that they keep around all these pricing plans. 1000s of plans per carrier is reportedly not uncommon.  Training customer support must be a nightmare. Even MVNOs have legacy plans. A downside of their contract mentality I guess. Best to change contracts during a recession. But then all carriers try to squeeze out legacy plan benefits as they grow old.
    • Everything "Uncarrier" is becoming "Carrier" again. Because of the Credit Limit that T-Mobile put on our account for no reason at all (and wouldn't change/update the last time I checked all the way up to the CEO), I don't plan on buying/upgrading our iPhones through T-Mobile. I'm going through Apple directly. Looks like I'll be going through Google and Samsung directly for our other lines for upgrades. Also, we're staying on Sprint Max given the ridiculous pricing for Go5G Plus. On Sprint Max, we currently pay for our Plan: $260 for 7 Voice Lines $25 for two Wearable Lines. (One is $10/Month. The other is $15/Month because the AutoPay discount only applies up to 8 lines.) Total: $285/Month vs. Go5G Plus (Per the Broadband Facts "nutrition label" on the T-Mobile Website): https://www.t-mobile.com/commerce/cell-phone-plans $360 - ($5 AutoPay Discount x 7 Voice Lines) = $325 The Watch Plans show as either $12/Month or $15/Month: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/affordable-data-plans/smartwatches So this is about the same for the wearables as what we're paying now. Overall, it's quite more than we're paying now to switch plans. Ridiculous....
