I work at the Cottonbelt building and just noticed my 4G data indicator.  Ran a speedtest and got 8.198 mb download speeds.  Looks like that tower is live.

got to map the two sector to see the distance it goes. And I got 30mbps down and a 36ms ping

LTE on 80 is amazing and I got ten Mbs for download speed and about 20 upload!

One thing that we also keep up with on the spread sheet is the 1X PN number (3 apart).

You can do this at any time, and it helps with knowing which cell site it is.

 

This is what I would do when sending the info.
(The Site ID) - 1X PN is 417, 420, 423
(The Site ID) - 1X PN is 39, 42, 45
(The Site ID) - 1X PN is 399, 402, 405

If their is LTE then it is
(The Site ID) - LTE is 03E35A02 (On a EVO 4G LTE) or
(The Site ID) - LTE is 100, 269, 438 (On a Samsung, it should be 169 apart)

DO NOT POST THE SITE ID HERE in this topic...

Any luck? I noticed the site has had 3 speed upgrades, and the one in south tyler that was the 'mess" up had three upgrades when it went 4g accepted, then back to 4g

when I went the other my signal was full strength and was getting way over 1mbps down no signal issues

I work at the Ymca which about .5 miles from that tower but I must be connected to one downtown but im about to head over to the tower now to test it out

The top 3 tests are the LTE I just picked up. Im here on Palace amd Front Street by Jeff Buie Used Cars. Now if I can get Sensorly to act right i'll do some mapping

is the 4g coming from the tower ob mccain dr?

what I was able to map. There's more 4g data to be mapped but this was all I had time for. These speeds and coverage were far superior to what I got in Athens a week ago and Athens,Tx has been launched for months. Very Impressive Sprint. Tyler shouldn't take long to get full coverage. Im guessing Tyler is officially in "pre-launch" status??

Ohh I wouldn't say Athen's has been launched. They only have one tower online, which would explain the poor poor speeds. I'm sure speeds in Tyler will decline a bit when people notice they have 4G ;)

oh ok didn't know it was only 1 tower but I guess the speeds and coverage confirms that and yea speeds will decline here im sure. I've updated my Facebook friends about our 4g status

      Yes! That does keep it from wandering off Dish and most importantly, reconnecting immediately (at least where their is n70). Thanks!

      I have my Dish phone locked to NR-only.  That keeps it on Dish and only occasionally will it see T-Mobile NR SA for brief periods before going to no service. I also don't have mine band locked beyond that, except that I have some of the unused bands turned off just to try to reduce scan time.  Fortunately, my Dish phone is the one with the MediaTek chipset, so it has NR neighbor cells, and I can usually see n71, n70, n66, and sometimes n29 (market-dependent) through those regardless of which band it's connected to as primary. - Trip

      Excuse my rookie comments here, but after enabling *#73#, it seems that the rainbow sim V2? requires n70 (I turned it off along with n71 - was hoping to track n66) to be available else it switches to T-Mobile.  So this confirms my suspicion that you need to be close to a site to get on Dish.  Have no idea why they don't just use plmn. To test, I put it into a s21 ultra, rebooted twice, came up on T-Mobile (no n70 on s21).  Tried to manually register on 313340, but it did not connect (tried twice). I am on factory unlocked firmware but used a s22 hack to get *#73# working.  Tried what you were suggesting with a T-Mobile sim partially installed, but that was very unstable with Dish ( I think they had figured that one out).  [edit: and now I see Boost sent me a successful device swap notice which says I can now begin to use my new device.  Sigh.  Will try again later and wait for this message - too impatient.]

      Hopefully this indicates T-Mobile hasn't completely abandoned mmwave and/or small cells? But then again this is the loop, so take that as you will. Hopefully now that most macro activity is done (besides rural colo/builds), they will start working on small cells.
