  1. 1. What is your retailer of choice for your smartphone needs?

    • Major retail authorized reseller (Best Buy, Radio Shack, Walmart, etc.)
    • Other authorized reseller
    • Sprint online store
    • Online reseller (Amazon, Wirefly, etc.)

I'm a new Sprint customer, but my family's 4 lines came from the online store. 2 iPhone 5s and 2 iPhone 4Ses.I was planning on getting mine from a corporate store, but I was a bit late and they had no stock of the iPhone 5. That same day, I drove 20 minutes to a Walmart, and they had stock, but they couldn't add my line because the account-holder wasn't there. I ended up ordering online. It was supposed to take 3 weeks, but I got it just under a week later (6 days).

Personally, I always got my phone purchases and upgrades at Sprint corp stores. I have add one too many bad experiences, both personally, and as a wireless device admin, at 3rd party retailers.

Upgraded my wife's sgs2 to the sgs3 for .96 cents @ Sam's Club. The entire process went surprisingly well. I don't do lines. To ensure that I would get a phone, I went in on Wendsday and paid $148, and then sent the kids in Friday morning to wait in line for the price adjustment. And what a line it was, so I'm told. She loves the phone btw...Other than this most recent instance,

1.) initially ported lines in corporate store.

2.) Retentions offered early upgrades via tele-sales due to poor service quality issues.

3.) Upgrades at Best Buy due to convenience (ALL Corporate stores are in heavily congested areas of the city, and BB in Tulsa Hills less than 5 minute drive) and instant rebates. BB usually knowledgeable and friendly staff. Most recently started price matching websites. Which is good because I would rather deal with my local BB than Amazon Wireless. Can handle any issue face to face.

I'm on SERO so if I'm buying a new contract phone, it has to be directly from Sprint. I did buy my current Evo 3D via eBay and was quite pleased with the transaction and price. It allowed me to get a newer phone without pulling the trigger on my contract.

I bought my current phone from Glyde. But I'm using a no-contract MVNO, so it's unsubsidized. No issues.

Glyde? Sounds like some sort of industrial lubricant.

Best Buy, they price match amazon and sometimes are cheaper, they also refund the difference when prices go down. I like being able to see the phone in person too.

It looks like they have changed price match: "The Guarantee is limited to one price match per identical item, per guest and does not apply to: Contract mobile phone devices and plans..."

I can confirm, I tried 5 local BestBuy stores last week and they all said no more pricematch for postpaid phones. I had to order from Amazon.

As a business customer, I do it through my dedicated customer care rep. We get upgrades on all phones (except iPhones) every 12 months, but it's problematic to get this done through any other channel plus, if I go to a retail store, I have to buy the phone out of pocket then get reimbursed. Through dedicated care, they do bill the phone through he account. Once I get a phone, I go to a corporate Sprint store to activate the phone to ensure all the contacts switch over properly. This isn't an issue with smartphones as much as the direct connect devices we have for most of my staff.

i Usually used to upgrade only thru TeleSales on Sprint cause of my SERO Plan, I couldnt just upgrade because they could not access my account....but for my Note 2, i got my note 2 thru amazon wireless for phone only

I've only used Best Buy and Sprint stores - whichever is most convenient/cost effective at the time of upgrade.

Just bought mine from Sam's. My local Sprint store was more expensive and the manager was flat rude. At Sam's I was at least greeted with a smile and a better price.

    • Since this is kind of the general chat thread, I have to share this humorous story (at least it is to me): Since around February/March of this year, my S22U has been an absolute pain to charge. USB-C cables would immediately fall out and it progressively got worse and worse until it often took me a number of minutes to get the angle of the cable juuuussst right to get charging to occur at all (not exaggerating). The connection was so weak that even walking heavily could cause the cable to disconnect. I tried cleaning out the port with a stable, a paperclip, etc. Some dust/lint/dirt came out but the connection didn't improve one bit. Needless to say, this was a MONSTER headache and had me hating this phone. I just didn't have the finances right now for a replacement.  Which brings us to the night before last. I am angry as hell because I had spent five minutes trying to get this phone to charge and failed. I am looking in the port and I notice it doesn't look right. The walls look rough and, using a staple, the back and walls feel REALLY rough and very hard. I get some lint/dust out with the staple and it improves charging in the sense I can get it to charge but it doesn't remove any of the hard stuff. It's late and it's charging, so that's enough for now. I decide it's time to see if that hard stuff is part of the connector or not. More aggressive methods are needed! I work in a biochem lab and we have a lot of different sizes of disposable needles available. So, yesterday morning, while in the lab I grab a few different sizes of needles between 26AWG and 31 AWG. When I got home, I got to work and start probing the connector with the 26 AWG and 31 AWG needle. The stuff feels extremely hard, almost like it was part of the connector, but a bit does break off. Under examination of the bit, it's almost sandy with dust/lint embedded in it. It's not part of the connector but instead some sort of rock-hard crap! That's when I remember that I had done some rock hounding at the end of last year and in January. This involved lots of digging in very sandy/dusty soils; soils which bare more than a passing resemblance to the crap in the connector. We have our answer, this debris is basically compacted/cemented rock dust. Over time, moisture in the area combined with the compression from inserting the USB-C connector had turned it into cement. I start going nuts chiseling away at it with the 26 AWG needle. After about 5-10 minutes of constant chiseling and scraping with the 26AWG and 31AWG needles, I see the first signs of metal at the back of the connector. So it is metal around the outsides! Another 5 minutes of work and I have scraped away pretty much all of the crap in the connector. A few finishing passes with the 31AWG needle, a blast of compressed air, and it is time to see if this helped any. I plug my regular USB-C cable and holy crap it clicks into place; it hasn't done that since February! I pick up the phone and the cable has actually latched! The connector works pretty much like it did over a year ago, it's almost like having a brand new phone!
    • That's odd, they are usually almost lock step with TMO. I forgot to mention this also includes the September Security Update.
    • 417.55 MB September security update just downloaded here for S24+ unlocked   Edit:  after Sept security update install, checked and found a 13MB GP System update as well.  Still showing August 1st there however.
    • T-Mobile is selling the rest of the 3.45GHz spectrum to Columbia Capital.
    • Still nothing for my AT&T and Visible phones.
