Oahu has five b41 issued permits. Maybe they are grabbing the permits only when the backhaul is in place.

I'm pretty sure they're doing work without issued permits. The tower closest to my house has B41 active with no permit issued.

Noticed that most speed test screen shots from the HI market seem to have 100ms+ pings. Is this par for the course in this market?

They should try some different servers, in the islands and in California and see what happens. Then make some deductions off that. If all their data is running through a California DDC, it may be that high.

That's what I thought. I guess I'll see when I get there... Been treated by the network really good in Vegas.

Last time I went to Vegas last fall, only place I had an HD voice call was inside of Caesar's

For the last year I have not been any where that does not have HD Voice, except Hawaii. LOL. Vegas has B25, B41 and HD Voice everywhere now. But thinking about it there are so many things to do in HI that I probably won't have time to talk. As long as internet speeds are decent I will be satisfied.

Been in the island for 4 days now and getting solid performance from the network. All the calls have been HD and I have experience plenty of B26 with very good speeds in Aiea, HI 96701, kaneohe Bay and tripler Army medical Hospital. I have also experience a lot of B41 with solid performance while connected.

Yeah, for the most part the network is pretty solid. I will still sometimes not get calls and once in a while texts will be super delayed

I have not seen a HD Voice icon on my phone since the one time on North Shore.  I live and work in downtown Honolulu.  My wife has the iPhone 6 and I have the Galaxy S3.  I suspect they still haven't rolled out HD Voice completely since it obviously worked one time, but not since.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are as many Link5G sites as there are reserved small cells from franchisees in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them. — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and coule potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
