i can tel you right now lte coverage in the baltimore area is pitiful right now even at this late stage in the game. Unfortunately they've also cratered overall signal performance in all areas from Frederick up to hagerstown to Baltimore i had 85 tickets open with them at one point. i got tired of spending more time on the phone with sprint than my clients and closed them all.

i would agree with the coverage in baltimore, but i thought it was just because i have a evo 4g lte.

The coverage in the suburbs isn't very good, but it's more then adequate with 50% of towers complete. I have LTE in most places I frequent, and the 3G is superb just about everywhere. There are those holes, but that's to be expected only half way through the market. We're actually lucky- people in Chicago have been almost unable to use their phones because of incompatibility between the legacy Motorola equipment and the Network Vision Samsung equipment.

I added some new points to sensorly but I just looked and I don't see them now. So here is good old low tech I got a lte signal from I 695 nw on I 795 for a couple miles blinks off then comes back on exit 4. I would say 2 new towers. I suspect there are towers on the tall blue cross Blue Shield building with a severe down tilt.

Now to revive this thread.

Ended up getting an LTE signal, plus a Speed test at the Annapolis Plaza shopping center parking lot at Trader Joes.

I was waiting for someone to revive it. I currently have a full bar LTE signal in Owings Mills- that's new.

And.. LTE is now live in Western AA County! Turned off Wifi this morning and then the 4F icon came up. So I quickly did a Speed test! I wonder when they turned my local tower on to it? Ether way still pleased with this!

Btw, not the fastest connection but hey. ude7yvu8.jpg

In Baltimore City now. Looks like we have some capacity issues. ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21359827185.918105.jpg

Coverage is great around here though. Consistently around 3-5 bars.

That may be a sector capacity issue. It may also be a backhaul issue. If there is an issue with the backhaul download under performing for a variety of issues, this can also result. My Verizon LTE will occasionally have low download speeds and high upload speeds at times on even rural sectors. I have attributed that issue to backhaul.

There is no way to know definitively. But you have definitely discovered some under performing download.

If this is a sector you frequent, you can call and report it and open a ticket. On new sites, it will be easy for them to determine a problem. If it is because of backhaul, they can call the vendor and get it fixed. If it is because of abusers, they can quickly identify them and take action. If it is because of hardware/radios at the site, they can dispatch someone.

If you report it, make sure you get a ticket number.

Another thought. Can you verify if all sectors on this same site are suffering from reduced download? That would help identify capacity or backhaul.

It was capacity. Got this from the same site.

Did you verify it's the same site via Site ID? Now your download looks really slow.

Didn't think of that. I didn't move much. I could still see the site. It was a rooftop.

I was in a fire lane though, so I was kind of rushed.

Huh, now I lost my LTE connection, but the 3G connection is getting weak. The roaming is stronger though. Maybe they were testing LTE from the tower.

After about a week, my LTE came back. Maybe it's tower testing or something. Anything happen overnight? I'm in Crofton. ruquzaqu.jpg

Also to add, I had LTE from Underwood to 424, 424 to 3, and then 3 to the Exxon station on 3 (I didn't drive further) but I did have LTE by the Burger King in 450. All in Crofton, and all mapped on Sensorly.

    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
    • What is the cheapest way to try Dish's wireless network?  Over the past year I've seen them add their equipment to just about every cell site here, I'm assuming just go through Boost's website?  What phones are Dish native?
