No, it was def LTE as my phone indicated LTE14 under status... I am going to see if I can get more info.

Ping was very high.. over 100 and speed was very low.. so I take it signal is very weak.

not even sure where it was coming from.. I had it for a while as I drove though and then lost it in north philly.

Something wierd happened when I was sitting in my car.. I am located in NE philly close to NJ... about 4 miles from Tacony Bridge.. My phone picked up 4g. I did a speed test and it was very slow.... Less than a megabit. I am going to see if I can get the signal back. This must have just happened as I never got a 4g signal here before.

i just checked on sensorly and your right a signal is there

I was out earlier in the same places as yesterday (19139 & 19082) and couldn't pick up LTE anywhere.

Standing with my son at 55th & Chestnut; he on his iPhone 5 had very strong LTE. Me with the Note 2 had nothing. Odd!

From everything I've seen with the 2 iPhone 5s on my account is that they are excellent RF performers.

With my EVO, I have a little trouble picking up LTE but once I catch it, I try to run with it as long as I can. I just drove from Abington right near Huntingdon Valley Country club all the way south through Jenkintown on 611 until just before Rt 73 and carried LTE the whole way. Then I spun around through Glenside with only 3G and back into Jenkintown where I picked up LTE and followed Valley Rd into Huntingdon Valley, then NW on Terwood Rd into the outskirts of Willow Grove while pulling in 4G the whole time. Now I'm hoping the "connections optimizer" will remember these LTE towers and I can connect more seamlessly over time. I'll be watching...

Here is a question for one of the LTE veterans, does LTE have a major effect on battery life? I have gone through 3 full charges today, now obviously using gps and Sensorly plays a significant part. I'm sure spotty coverage plays a role as well because of the radios constantly scanning, but in a solid area with no more than "normal" use, what can we expect?

As weird as this sounds, there is something very satisfying about looking at Sensorly and seeing a good size area that you mapped.

It's not weird at all, I love it! Before LTE popped up the other night, I was slowly mapping all of Willow Grove. That's how I accidentally came across 4G Tuesday night, just mapping 2 streets after leaving the pharmacy. Wasn't even paying attention until I glanced at my phone & was shocked to see a 4G. I was wayyy too excited to see that, but I think everyone here understands.

Should extend battery life the stronger the signal. Since its downloading information more quickly it doesn't have to connect as long to draw information.

It's sensorly that's killing your battery from my experience.

I've actually uninstalled this app numerous times, I only recently installed it again because of lte popping up in the area. I've noticed even when I have it set to no contribution or active only, it sets itself to passive and constantly runs scans. I caught it using 54% of my battery over a 9 hour period, ridiculous. Needless to say it will be uninstalled again soon, which is a shame because it's really an awesome resource.

Same here when I still had an Android device. I suspect that Apple won't approve a Sensorly app with the scan option included in iOS devices for this very reason.

So many people rely heavily on Sensorly yet when looking at the map on the app I ALWAYS see nothing. Just a blip where I'm at.

It's been this way for all the months I've had it installed. If there is 4G somewhere I can't tell based on this app.

They went live Tuesday. I was in a meeting at 19th and market when I looked down at my phone. I saw the 4g and it took a moment to register in my head. I had a huge smile and no one knew why lol.

Are you using the website or the app to look at the map? The app seems to have an issues refreshing the maps, but on the website you can see many spots of LTE now.

Did fiber pulls at three more sites yesterday: Delaware Avenue accross from Sugarhouse Casino is a brand spanking new site which should have full acceptance by early next week and is just waiting on fiber, Germantown and Chelten is another one just waiting on fiber and 8th & Arch looks like it needs a full rebuild before LTE touches it. My phone STILL hasn't touched any LTE goodness yet so I'm still crossing my fingers.
