Network Vision/LTE - Oklahoma Market

It seemed more dead than slow on 239 to me. I can't believe I actually got a 0.00 mbps down speed test.

It won't stream or transfer even small amounts of data (failed Google voice sms)

I hope they fix it soon.

Amazingly i think i found its sweet spot, in a neighborhood about a mile south of the site i pulled 25.32 down from it.

It must be the one east facing sector causing the issues. What serving cell gave you those speeds? 70?

It was 408 with an SNR of 18.4, All 3 sectors fluctuate signal noise sporadically. Hope the towers by my house don't act like that.

I wouldn't brag about that one either. Probably why you have such a huge variance in speed. Take a look at these and you'll what it is supposed to look like. And I would actually consider the -79 one on the low side. Most of the -70's I have seen at 18, 20, 22 or more. But if you guys think those signals are great, then roll with them. I'm just glad that installation crew is in OK and not LA.

I'm not sure if the signals are great, but I think the enthusiasm is because honestly our 3G is unusable in many many situations. Even poorly deployed LTE is better than the dreck we've had for the past few years here. I remember when EV-DO Release 0 was deployed and I had my Treo 700p... Nobody was on my brand new 3G network and although the speeds won't set the world on fire, they were far more usable than what I have now in a lot of the time.

so forgive the unbridled enthusiasm, we're just excited to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Here's hoping it's not a fast approaching train.

You are preaching to choir here. I have a -130 signal with a 3G icon lit up on my daily travels and work. I do have shinny RRUs and antennas that have been up for months though if that counts for something. Then lots of time at work there is no 3G icon at all. Boxing with the Oklahoma City call center all day.... ohh.. the irony here.

EDIT: Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here. Just trying to pass on the knowledge of why you have issues with that signal on that site.

Well I'm sure something can be done to make sure things are installed correctly now if that gets done who knows but there are ways to make contact with those who can get it done. Just depends on how much effort folks want to put in to make that happen or wait until after the fact it gets launched to the market.

you could walk up and talk to the install guys I suppose. They probably have no power after the install to do anything though.

I heard that Stillwater might be up on their LTE 4G by the end of June but that's just here say.

I hear it might be up Sooner ;)

Become a sponsor and you might see why.

I like that you mentioned "Sooner" while talking about the Cowboy's town. Yeah i seem to recall advances in the rollout that could put a live one out in Stilly before June

Side note i was at the 66ers game last night and was able to pull 16mbps down burried inside the Spiritbank Center. I was almost for certain i would fall back to 3G, but it held LTE the whole game/slaughtering.

LTE is live in Norman! On the bridge near sooner mall, I pulled about 6 mbps.

Reported last week. And yes that was me mapping on sensorly at Riverwind. That mapping drive cost me $200.

Driving a hummer or RV for mapping?

Silverado. Riverwind is a casino. Just had to give lady luck a try. She hates me.

I scanned for LTE on my drive in using the LTE Discovery app that cycles your phone into airplane mode and back out every 60s or whatever and I never once picked up LTE. This was from North Edmond to I-40 & Portland. Sensorly shows 1 bar LTE available at I-40 and Portland, but I could never get it on my phone. I know my phone works with LTE because I just drove to Galveston last week and had LTE in quite a few spots in Texas.

Is LTE still going up and down as it does often in the beginning of a deployment?

Thanks guys!

Probably not, once they turn it on it's on, at least from what I've seen so far with our build. If you become a Sponsor you will gain access to the maps and you will know exactly where to get LTE.

Stick to the shows! ;)

Got the Norman kiddo an upgrade to the HTC One yesterday. Said he got 4G at the I-35 & Main Walmart, but not at work on Timberdale near Jenkins (W campus) or at home (about a half mile south of the duck pond).
