Oh good. Now we can have the serving cell hex id's. I'm not sure what code you put in for engineering screens.

Someone just posted on the Sprint.com forums that they have LTE at the DMV on Decatur and Elkhorn. Looks like tower number 2 is back. Anyone near there want to hunt is down? The closest to that DMV is @ Deer Springs and Decatur.

I'm now officially a Las Vegas resident. I'm glad that there are some LTE towers being slowly turned on. I moved from the Washington, DC area which had some LTE hot spots around where I lived. Hopefully Sprint is able to blanket the area a bit quicker than they have back east.

When I do get LTE signal, what information can I donate from my iPhone 5?

In the Field test menu, we are looking for Serving cell numbers, both physical and decimal. Plus since you are a Sponsor, in the Las Vegas Permit page on the first page where the map is, I have a link to a spreadsheet for Site id's and their serving cell numbers. As of right now, there are 2 towers broadcasting LTE, only one has been accepted. Welcome to the Vegas area.

Yes, wiz welcome to our burg..been here for 10 years myself after 25 in Colorado; I suggest you check your debit/credit cards at the door until you get accustomed to all the gambling temptations around here...pays dividends in the long run..just some kind advice from an old guy that's been there and done that!

I lived in Nevada for 16 years. For me, the allure of gambling ended after about 12-18 months. Then only gambled when family/friends came to town. Although I do miss Pai Gow Poker.

I think the actual tower broadcasting the signal (if it is the same one I saw the first time around) might be up at the Shell gas station further up Decatur. This weekend if someone hasn't gotten around to it yet I can swing up there and try and get the Serving Cell numbers.

Before I moved, I had a realization that if I lived in Vegas, I couldn't gamble here anymore. So since my banks are still just on the East coast, the high ATM fees around here help deter me.

I'm here to work outside of the tourism/gambling industry so other than the occasional trip to the spa, I should be ok :)

MacinJosh - Thanks for keeping track in the spreadsheet and I'll keep a watch on my field test menu.

In my experience with some of the non-veteran LTE hunters I would have them confirm the site by a -80ish or better screenshot alonog with a photo of the site to make sure the site was indeed upgraded. Some sites when you get directly on the face of the sector a -60ish signal is very easy to do, some all I could get is -80 due to the height.

This is a picture of the tower, taken on Sunday. Not exactly sure what I am looking for to ensure that it has network vision upgrades, or even Sprint equipment on it, I couldn't take a picture of the cabinets as they were behind a wall. It was the only tower I found in the area.

So after being in Vegas all last week, about 95% of the time in the casino's on the strip, Sprint 3G is useless. You can't even browse the internet. I've been to three different hotel's and Sprint is useless in Bally's, M Resort (guest rooms area) and Renaissance Hotel. I was able to get some decent browsing at the Cosmopolitan and Tropicana but other places like Caesar's Palace and Venetian and most of the middle parts of the strip, useless. It was very disappointing. :(

Hopefully by the time I visit again in July, it will be better.

Notice the tower off of 95 & north Durango was getting an upgrade, can someone confirm this upgrade, haven't had a chance to take a picture of it but it's very tall with red and white stripes.

Some areas were fast and some would not work at regardless of having an excellent Evdo signal and quality. Luckily 800smr was available all over the strip and many other areas we went so I was able to force over to 1x only. And since it was hidden from normal customers it was all mine muahahahaha.

It sucked that I couldn't even see the 800 SMR. :(

I don't know how on the iPhone. And I'm too paranoid to try it and screw my phone up.

You are on your own on that one.. Takes two shakes on Samsung devices and pretty impossible to mess up.

That's why I want to get a GS3 or a Galaxy Victory added to my account so I can change PRL files and plot Sensorly.

Indeed. I flashed the 'Premier' PRL onto my Note 2 and the nearest site to me, which I can see off of my balcony, apparently isn't broadcasting 800MHz just yet. However, I was able to pick up an 800MHz signal of @ -95 dBm from the site on Jeffreys which I believe Benifactor was watching for some time. The signal was quite usable for talk & text. I didn't do try to do much of anything with the 1x data. In a straight line, that site is a hair over four miles from me. Given the amount of houses, apartments and other buildings and structures between that site and my house, I'd say that was fairly impressive. While my 'regular' signal can't get much better here at home, I still can't wait for 800 to go live officially in Vegas!

5 new LTE sites accepted today in Las Vegas. They will be added to the Sponsor maps in a few hours. Woot!

They had to wait until I left I see...sheesh...

I drove by Henderson yesterday afternoon and couldn't find any LTE, so don't feel too bad. :(
