Network Vision/LTE - Chicago Market

Could be doing Fit testing with the 8T8R equipment. I know orders start next month and then obviously installs commence.

The next 6 months are very going to be interesting. More so than NV 1.0 deployment if you ask me.

Installs are already occurring? Lots of them.

Strange. Last info I had was fit testing ongoing with Nokia getting orders in August.

I don't know where you're getting your info from but Chicago is Samsung and many dozens of sites have been installed in the past 3 months in that market.  Hundreds if not thousands of sites in Alcatel-Lucent & Samsung regions have been overlaid in the past 3 months.

Nokia is down in Ericsson markets and only very recently did they begin their deployment.

Nokia isn't upgrading Chicago. Upgrades are being handled by Samsung. They have been doing installs for probably the last month, at least. Across most of their markets.

This is news to me. The information being fed to me is that Nokia is providing the equipment.

I'll check tomorrow cause now I'm curious.

Lately in the last couple weeks I've seen a vast improvement in the closest tower to my girlfriends house. She lives in palos heights and the lte download speeds on band 25 went from 2-4 Mbps during the day to over 10 Mbps at times. What could account for this? More users with spark devices, an upgraded cell tower, or me upgrading my iPhone 5c to the latest software. Thanks for the input guys. And BTW I believe the closest tower that I connect to is at the palos heights police department

You're likely connecting to Band 26.

Not at all.  Just the opposite.  You, Adam G, and Sam Smith are using rationalization and deflection strategies.  That is poor argumentation.

Derrick Rose cheated.  He cost his university, his coach, his teammates, and himself a stellar season, now stricken from the records.  And I merely say that karma may be coming back to haunt him with injuries.

I will have more to say on this matter later...

I argue for a living.  I've never heard somebody accused of "poor argumentation."  But you're the one who nonsensically brought up Rose and some imaginary karmatic effect.  Ergo, nobody is trying to deflect anything.

The point is that the NCAA is a price fixing cartel that will either adapt in the very near future (with the power conferences splitting off and paying players) or simply cease to exist in the first place.  So wipe away your crocodile tears about whether Rose took the SAT on your officially licensed NCAA apparel because those stupid eligibility rules likely won't even exist in three years.  All of your heartache will be for naught.

I saw multiple Ericsson trucks pulling out of Geneva Commons. Sprint does have fiber along the UPRR, but no electronics in the area that I'm aware of. Ergo, I'm assuming it is optimization work.

Circular reasoning, post hoc ergo propter hoc, red herring, etc.

I know what fallacies are.  I put "poor argumentation" in quotes because I had never heard that specific term before.

But anyway, I was waiting for you to burst out into the Big State U fight song. You said you had more to say on this topic.

That's 10 minutes from me, and I can say with certainty that you are experiencing the effects of traffic being divided amongst 3 5x5mhz LTE carriers. It benefits everyone; spark device or not.

Well maybe he was just hitting the 2nd carrier now in Palos and didn't know it.  I assume the 2nd carrier has less traffic than the original and therefore produces these better speeds, even during peak times.

It's all random, from what I can tell. Some areas I get bounced around, and other areas I'm stuck on g-block PCS with 100kbps speeds. It's not fully optimized, but it sure handles traffic better than when we only had g-block 25 alone.

In theory, the instant they turn on the 2nd B25 carrier, it should load balance 50/50 with the 1st, and speeds on both should improve.

In theory the cubs and white sox 2014 world series hopes are still alive!

Awesome news guys, one of the last remaining Loop 3G sites is now LTE accepted.  The site by the Daley Center on Lasalle St.  Was def a noticeable hole there.  There is a new site on 35th just blocks from the cell too, its 3G/800 only, says its a replacement site.  Also good news, the Cell could use some more eHRPD and B25 capacity....yes even when there is just 20K in the house.

We're making slow progress on putting the Sprint tower up on the roof of Clark and Adams as well.

That's great news too, the Loop def needs more capacity on all fronts.

I just flew into Kansas City for the weekend, it will be interesting to see how Chicago and KC markets compare. Already latched on to B26 at the airport. I'll be staying a few minutes from Sprint HQ in Overland Park. So my expectations are high!
