  1. I think he was implying LTE he picked up from another tower with the speeds. Then a tower near his work which is in the process of being upgraded.
  2. Bringing this thread back from the dead. Tower in Quakertown, PA at the intersection of Rt. 309 & W. Pumping Station Rd. has been upgraded: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/imag0269z.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/40/imag0270u.jpg/ No LTE was being broadcast but 2mb/s 3G.
  3. Added sensorly data along Union Deposit and 22. Impressed how quickly coverage is expanding. Also, Shentel has upgraded another site along Rt. 39 near the interesection with Colonial Rd. which isn't broadcasting LTE yet.
  4. To be fair, it is a technology fanboy site if anything. Look around at all the info. You're complaining about voice coverage, 800mhz deployment will more than clear that up. You're in a market that is being given priority but unfortunately got set back by Sandy. T-Mo will never have the coverage Sprint will attain simply because they have no sub-Ghz spectrum.
  5. I really don't understand posts like this. No one is going to beg you to stay on Sprint. I find it funny you say there is no LTE in NYC. Obviously it hasn't launched yet but work is being done. Also, what good are Verizon/ATT speeds when you're capped at 6gb's on 4 lines?
  6. Interestingly, Shentel does pretty much the opposite and places most of their stores directly next to a tower from what I've seen.
  7. I thought with SMR removed from the most recent PRL, it wouldn't connect to 800 at all?
  8. I honestly don't see any other provider coming and and putting together the money and wherwithal to build any true infrastructure, especially nationwide. If anything, they would have to set up a hosting agreement with a current provider and realistically that only leaves Sprint/T-Mobile.
  9. Not sure if this has been asked before, didn't find it in a search. Is there any way to tell you are connected to a network using 1X Advanced vs. regular 1X? And to expand on that, are all towers upgraded with legacy panels removed broadcasting 1xAdvanced over 1900mhz?
  10. Remember downtown it will take alot more towers to give the same amount of coverage due to downtilt and all the obstacles it has to overcome. They definitely haven't converted towers in the midtown/uptown areas yet.
  11. It's strange. The other night when they flipped the switch, I looked down and it had connected automatically. At my apartment, I get ~-109dbm outside and -112 to -115 inside. I live at the top of hill so as i pass the crest I lose connection, on the opposite side. When I come home, I've been watching to see how quickly it connects and generally it's pretty good. But then yetserday I went Sensorly mapping and was sitting directly in front of an active tower and had to cycle airplane mode to get it to connect. My wife's S3 has no such issues, but I will say sometimes I think the "problem" is non-existent and other times it's a pain in the ass!
  12. My EVO LTE holds an LTE connection at my apartment past -115 which actually becomes troublesome as you mention because the connection is basically non-existent. I imagine if I didn't understand what was going on it would be VERY frustrating.
  13. I remember hearing this comment and if true, I can only glean from this that eventually he will try to bring T-Mobile under Softbank ownership as well. That would form a nice competitor to ATT/VZ.
  14. My how far this thread has come! I remember the first page of horrible speed tests!
  15. Before work today I mapped quite a bit north of Harrisburg. I've said it before but I'm very impressed with Shentel's deployment.
  16. I have sensorly and mapped the area around my place. When I get out later I'll map the rest of the area I know is covered.
  17. Just got 4G at my place in Susquehanna Township just off of Progress Ave.
  18. You must have the eyesight of an eagle to call that one out!
  19. Shentel's area does not cover DC. They have a launch schedule independent of Sprint owned markets.
  20. Got to take pics of another tower which has been upgraded for some time near intersection of I83 and Union Deposit Road in Lower Paxton: http://imageshack.us/a/img525/7299/imag0259ro.jpg
  21. When is the FIT being constructed? And this is in North Dokota if I remember correctly?
  22. I should have picked this up by now but they require a truck roll in June to bring up 800mhz LTE, correct?
