  3. What if the sites completed map was broken down into say smaller parts of the country. I can never load it on my LTEVO, my slightly older desktop and laptop get a script error but they load soon enough, my work computer gets destroyed trying to open most of the interactive maps, but my main computer is fine (i7-3770k, 16gb ram).
  4. Ok, this is good to know since i mapped out some areas that had no 4g earlier.
  5. Went out to Phoenix for the weekend and I will say the signal was good for sprint. I didn't really have too many issues outside of the in and out on the 10 between major cities. Surprise signal was good as was downtown Phoenix.
  6. Depending on what camera you have now, learn the basic ideas behind photography instead of using the auto function, you might see some slightly better to much better images. Changes to features such as ISO, aperture, f-stop, white balance and modes can make a large enough difference in image quality, you wouldn't even need a DSLR. But as AJ said, you won't get anything good for less than $1000. I have over 6k in equipment and that is only 2 good lenses and a body with four OK lenses. Forget about megapixel and focus on OPTICAL zoom, aperture (2.0 or less if possible) and a higher ISO. These feature will help with getting some amazing pictures/video depending on the camera and its sensor. Do the research and find one that has a good image sensor as well. GL in the search.
  7. With Baseball season coming in a few weeks, it will be excellent. Now i can drive people crazy with my at bat app going and watching the game. Go Dodgers!
  8. If you're part of a credit union, certain employers and some groups, you can get a discount on services from 5-28%. another thing is that a discount is only applied to services $20 or more, this leaves the add a line and enchanced data charges and insurance at full price. The best thing you might be able to do is use someone else for insurance such as squaretrade and maybe lower your plan depending on minutes used, assuming you have the 3000 minute plan, if not, you may just want to browse online for the random discounts available to anyone.
  9. I'm having issues now where the proximity sensor will stay on after I have ended a call. The only way to turn it off is to place another call or reset the phone. Also, 4g/wifi connectivity is terrible. I can no longer just come home and have the wifi automatically connect, i have to do either airplane mode or turn it off an on. The 4g signal is also weaker since the last update.
  10. Outside of urban interference, why is it at work in Paramount there is almost or is NO lte around my office, but the tower is only half a mile north/east on Alondra? my phone just sucks up juice trying to find signal inside the building, so it's a little frustrating. are the towers directionally variable with a narrow line of sight (90-170*)?
  11. The area's that look like OC look to be bleed over from LA county ie cerritos, La Mirada.
  12. The shutter sound on the camera has been fixed to work with the volume of the ringer. Silent/Vibrate is no sound, and shutter sound increases with volume.
  13. I'm just curious as to why the three towers within a mile from my job are giving me no signal at the front but i get a short signal in the back. i can grab the lakewood one for almost 1.5 miles. are the antenna's directional?
  14. Proximity sensor issue has been fised, but now my LTE connections are slower to connect and the USB debug autoconnect issue is still here. I'm still having issues with auto spacing in internet searches. very strange, didn't do that before the JB update. I did a hard reset a while ago just fyi, so i'm lost on this.
  15. Is this via the navigation directly or through google maps to navigation?
  16. I noticed it removed the automatic debug mode on connection to the PC but did not address the hotspot and usb drive/htc sync connection issues. I liked the options before in ICS where we decided what we wanted to do. Did not remove the power save mode from the task bar; i have not checked the proximity sensor issue yet either. I will test the 4g after work and see how well that holds up.
  17. S4GRU et al have discussed this exact topic concerning everyones city to death throughout this forum. The takeaway from all of those discussions is red tape (political issues, permits, land, power etc.), bachaul (sprints lines, microwave communications, other companies launch of fiber/cable/ethernet), and equipment (shortages of supplies, rerouting of supplies, contractors and subcontractors, etc...) and possibly money via sprint to others or others to sub others. This is an extensive and large process, so the less of each of the issues i mentioned, the quicker the system overhaul can be completed. As they say, patience is a virtue. If there were no shortages of equipment and no permits needed, this would be done much faster but as it is, if anyone is behind, then all the othere effects will happen. Those cities with 1500 people probably have 1% of the overall areas antenna's therefore completion can be accomplished exponentially quicker be cause of the previous conditions i mentioned above.
  18. Was in Vegas over the weekend and for the most part signal was good around the center of the strip. Going to the South Point though, i lost signal a few times.but it wasn't as bad as it used to be.
  19. I did the factory reset and reloaded everything. It runs better for the most part, however the ram being used is ridiculously high. i don't know about anyone else, but on the stock reboot with nothing installed it ran at 800+MB according to the task manager and with all of my programs loaded it is nearly .9 GB. I recall before the update that i would barely peak at .50GB with an average of .30 GB. Maybe someone can explain this to me, but it seems like something has become a memory hog. Outside of that the other issue i have is swype not putting spaces in google searches and some other random areas. it has auto spacing checked and works fine in other apps. I do like the music controls in the drop down menu, and the increased volume from the beats audio.
  20. I tried it again and it worked. i'm still going to hard reset, i just have to save files and programs.
  21. I can't say there were radio updates, but the lte radio editing is something i had done on my own with similar numbers for lte timer and BSR timer and I would have to constantly switch airplane mode. I haven't had to touch airplane mode since the update and even the *#*#info#*#* hasn't had to be used to push the lte signal, so something had to have been done with the priority of the radios and the strength. As i'm not a CompE or EE, i can say it seems as though something was rewritten or at least reorganized to attain the functions of better lte connection. This is with and without optimizer on.
  22. Found a few new spots, but still nothing in the east Long Beach area. Paramount, Lakewood, Artesia are getting better though. Now i just need to wait for lte along the 10 out towards Covina
  23. i just can't wait until they fill in the gap i have at work. I can go to one end of the plant and get 4g, slow, but 4g and as soon as i go to the office or leave the back of the plant, nothing.
