  1. Went to the Dodger game on Tuesday and texting worked fine the whole time. Data was in and out but signal was strong for 1X. I tried to make a call early in the game, but it did not connect in 10 seconds so i hung up instead of waiting. Data was good for about 30 minutes into the game and then just went away. After about 10pm, there was no data for me and i had to wait until the game was over before i got any real signs of data.
  2. The same issues that have slowed most upgrades are permits, backhaul, equipment, and labor. Backhaul is probably the largest issue that we have especially in the mountain areas.
  3. Do you have a source for this, or is this coming from a customer service representative? Rukin'd
  4. Banter about the who's and what's happens, don't worry about it. You will want to favorite this thread for updates in your area and what others in your area are looking at.
  5. I agree iwth others, this is an excellent post. I remember this fee when i got the Palm Pre, a NON 4G phone. To the OP, if you are getting consistant 3G, then you should be happy. As the rollout continues, you will see more swaths of usable data servicesin your area and in others. There is a lot that goes into upgrading towers and turning on the newer services. Backhaul is the biggest issue, then permitting. it could be the other way around depending on the area and how the local government handles that. Next would be equipment and contractors. if either of those are lacking, the upgrade will be delayed.
  6. Not possible, that is WAY too efficient for backhaul running.
  7. I can agree with this since the tower nearest me, .25-.33 miles is not lit up and the other towers are just over 1.125 miles from work. i go one block in any direction and i get faint LTE but once i get to the job, it's gone.
  8. At that point, you yourself are more knowledgeable then the staff and their information is null.
  9. He always goes off-topic. I'm down to see these larger network speeds delivered to cities for their use to all of it's residents. This level of speed could easily be utilized by a large city, or maybe by a small consortium of people at greater distance to the hub. You can fix that by blackmailing the local government officials with pictures of them holding a cat by it's tail. That'll learns them. But no really, your best bet to change the oligopoly is to inform the locals that your elected officials are not looking to save them money and allow competition. My HOA is doing the same thing right now.
  10. I have the Pro. It is going to make school so much easier with the ability to write on my notes, pdf's and play a few games.
  11. As I would normally agree with this, I can't. My routine with my phone almost never changes, and it hasn't changed in the last three phones from the OG Evo to the LTEVO to the One. This screen suffered a significant scratch quite quickly and looks to have a subsurface crack/scratch that, though not impeeding the phone, is visible when there are smudges. this happened within months of owning the phone. My og evo took more abuse then this one as it was exposed to more dirt/dust, much of which is sandy clay loam soils, long throws and the glass never scratched or cracked and i had that phone for two years. The LTEVO was almost the exact same. So as much as i would like to think that this glass is the same GG2 as the previous LTEVO, it is either not as thick, or a different glass then previous generations.
  12. that's one thing i've noticed with this glass compared to the previous EVO's, it's weak. Mine got scratched in my pocket day one. i never put a screen on any of the others and never got a scratch or crack.
  13. I liked the Sprint Premier program where one line on the account could upgrade yearly. I was able to go from the Pre to the Evo but got stuck after that. My other line almost never upgrades, so i got the upgrades, it was nice.
  14. The BYOD is where you save. Thats why having more then the duopoly is key for competition. Either way, it will come down to preference and the customers priorities.
  15. You should be looking at the NV Sites Completed map. If the tower is listed there and is red, it is only 3g accepted, yellow is 4G accepted, etc. That does not mean they are transmitting, but they have gone through sprints system as having had some upgrades accepted.
  16. well, right now there is a deal with Sprint for a BoGo on the One, and the price is now $99. so that is a $300 savings which puts them about equal. Not to turn this into an argument, but the variation and availability of phones and their prices make the point of the phones almost moot. so say you paid for neither phone for either company, you save ~5% on T-mobile. it's up to the customer at that point.
  17. The thing i see with the numbers here is that you are saying with T-mobile you get a free phone and you just have to pay for the SIM card. Unless you are bringing a phone from another carrier, you're still buying a phone somewhere. This makes your numbers skewed. Even with the T-mobile upgrade whenever you want plan, you are STILL paying for the phone. Say you go to sprint with no phones, with the pricing you put, you could find a deal and get the phones for free or less then the $199 a piece. That would put it closer if not cheaper then T-Mobile. Like they say in stats, "the numbers don't lie, just how they are presented."
  18. YouTube can clip coupons and save big this week at your local grocery chain.
  19. A spoon full of sugar helps that medicine go down.
  20. How about "Morse Code" since iDEN, smoke signals and Morse code are all almost completely dead. Although, Morse code is still useful unlike the others.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

This has been discussed at length in this thread. Just search, but you will want your MSL so that you can change your LTE scan timer.
  22. The problem with solar energy is its inefficiency. Most of that is still only 18-24% light to energy. We're not talking plants here, which are photo efficient to almost 100%. There is work being done on organic solar panels with the use of photosynthesis. Again, it is in a lab and well, not feasible yet.
