    I would recommend reading up a little bit more on the sensorly thread. I would also recommend that you pick up the signal app made by a few of our site sponsors. The thing with sensorly is that while you are mapping, it does not switch from 3g to 4g unless you force the radio of and on again. If you are searching via sensorly and mapping at the same time, it would be good if you used airplane mode often. As i see on your profile, you have the LTEVO which is not the best 4G performer, so that may also be causing the confusion in signal. Becoming a sponsor here will also give you access to more information to further explain NV.

    OK, so you were talking about activating a new line of service. Initially, you were talking about buying a phone at full-pop and activating it on an already active line while still increaseing the contract for two years. That does not happen. Now adding a line and activating an old phone on a new line, depending on the plan, will give you a new 2 year agreement, that i can accept. Your initial comment made it sound like an activation of any phone, new or old, would automatically extend the contract another two years on an ACTIVE line. The new line of service is always two years UNLESS you can acquire the "No contract" plan which i believe no longer exists.

    You might be able to call verizon and tell them to release the number for porting, since there was a law about being allowed to port a number from anywhere to anywhere.

    well, after running some numbers, it looks like the savings comes after 4 lines, so anyone with say two accounts with more then 5 lines plus a discount would save quite a bit.

    if discounts are eligable for the plan, it may be more worthwhile. Previously it was anything under $20 was not allowed to be discounted. with this new plan, everything is discounted which makes it a bit cheaper then the everything data 1500 depending on your discount. $50 x(1-.23)= $38.50 $40 x(1-.23)= $30.80 data $30 x(1-.23)= $23.10 $30 x(1-.23)= $23.10 total pre tax: $115.50 current ED1500= $109.99 x(1-.23)= $84.69+ $19.99+ $10 x 2=$124.68 So, if these numbers are right, this new plan is a good savings. EDIT: Sorry, it's only good if you have 2 lines, after that the price starts to increase.

    My insinuation was that this is for new customers, again who are not into the details, who are comming over from other providers. This is also with the expectation that the network will be completed in a timely manner thus decreasing the need for data roaming. I know with the latest problems i've had, i've raomed quite a bit even at home.

    This may be true, but this does not take into account many other mitigating factors such as replacement phones, early upgrades, outright sales, etc. Even though market share is increaseing, it is just a larger slice of the whole pie. It is the underlying explanations as to why, and i think those are in my first sentence. The iphone has it's uses, but they are not for everyone.

    looks like they are going to make more money on this then the plans they have now. It will definately get people from the other carriers that see the "options" and don't do the math. new plan-3 phones= $50+$40+$30=$120+(3x$30)=$210 old plan-3 phones= $110+(3x$10)+(2x$20)=$190 I'll stick with my plan plus discount.

    A few of us talked about this and the problem we found was that the time needed to fully administer this idea is lacking from those that would be able to do it. What we do have for that is sponsors sponsoring other members. Again though, there is the issue with managing the site and those with access. the best thing is to continue to inform users of the sponsoring levels, let them know there is no real minimum and they will sponsor.

    Anyone else having the issue where you start music on the phone through the headset and you get a loud spike and then the volume goes to where it is set? sounds like an amplification spike at full power and then drops to the set volume.

    It is sad and disheartening when life is lost protecting others. I wish the best for their families. On a note for fires such as this, and with my slightly relevant knowledge on certain subjects, these fires could be minimized by just better land management. This is one of the largest problems we have here in California and the cause is weeds. I didn't watch the video yet, but I will assume it is probably large vasts of rangeland that is unkempt or areas where weeds are out of control and dried out.

    That was the one good thing about Disney when A) i had nextel and had a season pass. I was the only one in the group with cell coverage in all those crazy underground rides. Still waiting on Huntington Beach.

    Dodger stadium is atrocious. Once i was in the stadium, i had full bars, but calls were unavailable, messaging was unavailable and data was a "Good luck Charlie Brown" deal. 4G was more usable then 3g, but with it coming in at -120dB or so, it was almost unusable 85% of the time. I'm glad i don't have season tickets or i would be activating my old EVO 4G just for the wimax.

    I do this now. It has been great since there are some people i want to call on one phone and people i want calling the other number. The options you have with GV are great also.

    I just resolved this issue with my HTC One this week. I had to have the MSID changed. so far it's worked well. The phone would lose the voice connection and never connect to the network or would connect for a short period then go away again. I would call tech and ask them to try a new MSID.

    He was speaking for DODGER Stadium, which will not have a finished working Wifi network until june/july. The BIG A has a tower close by and one a few miles away in SA. There is a tower up at the top of the hill behind the outfield, you can see it as you exit the stadium. It has been upgraded, just not sure on the backhaul and when 4G will broadcast. Hopefully sooner rather then later.
