  1. For those of us who are NOT are technically savvy with firmware, is the asus system not enough to run a home network? I think it is probably the easiest to use and most intuitive compared to say the old lynksis or d-link I have.
  2. Thanks to Pythagoras, 0.500" can be attained many ways since screens are measured on the diagonal.
  3. The Commander Spock (AJ) of S4GRU emphasises that point often.
  4. You are actually AHEAD of S4GRU by watching the tower be upgraded as this site only gets confirmation from a source about sprint ACCEPTING the tower. If it has not shown up on the map, you are more than welcome to inform AJ/Robert of it being in progress and they can mark it as such. That would make it more visible to know when it has progressed from "In-Progress" to "Accepted" Post 300 yay
  5. From the information we have around here, the bogging of data transfers should be limited for sometime as Sprint has put scalable backhaul in place for just that reason.
  6. A little Thai red curry will go a long way. Maybe a glass of tap water from mexico city? Add some Hershey's kisses...
  7. -AJ does plenty of articles on RF, but you'd have to quickly search on that. As for RF performance, it is not as bad as people make it, but remember, it is SVLTE. -the ONE still has a 5" screen and the M8, if it is 5.2", will probably maintain the same overall shape, just a larger screen with less realestate on the sides and top. It really doesn't feel that much bigger then the LTEvo or EVO 4g, and since it is thinner, that might help in the pockets area. -The two should maintain the same relative size, just more screen realestate. -This has been discussed a lot and the opinion was that samsung just has more marketing money than HTC. -The nexus is just plain android without an added UI (User Interface). The closest to get to that is pretty much the ONE unless of course you root it and add a new ROM. That might get you closer. The Two shouldn't deviate too much from the One since it was quite successful in its own right and the advancements we might see will probably be software and some slight hardware changes. Hopefully the RF will work like the nexus since this will probably be tri-band.
  8. I'm going to have the radioshack save one for me. Or at least i hope i can get them to save one for me.
  9. Mainboard shows an IDE connection and four sata connections. Could have just looked up the HD in device manager.
  10. Robert explains this whole situation here. It looks like it will not matter what phone you use, if it is tri-band then there is going to be issues until it is sorted out.
  11. Children and childish boring adults should definately watch out and get off of their iPhones. I normally sit in Homerun areas. The one thing I did know was we had COWs at the stadium and they seemed permanent. I know i was grabbing signal from the closest tower which is at the top of the Ravine but I would also grab a LTE signal that would peak at around -113dB. We will see how it goes next season. That's only about 150 days away.
  12. Do you believe it will work when, since this is downtown LA, there are anywhere from 20-50,000 subscribers on maybe three towers? Not incluiding the constant traffic jetting by on the streets/freeways?
  13. Just wrinkly right? IF there's a data signal then it would work. Dodger Stadium showed that the network cannot handle massive crowds AND a dense population on one or two towers. I had signal a lot but it was unusable both data and voice.
  14. We found AJ's secret. Just don't forget the rest of your "Village People"
  15. <offtopic> I'm hungry because all i read was teriyaki and prime rib, corn ears and New York Strip. </offtopic> Metropolitan and urban areas will never utilize wifi and wireless efficiently, nto witht he explosion of tech and mobility. Rural areas will benefit the greatest from this form of expansion and may off suburban areas of relief.
  16. Anaheim is officially launched so any issue with service, report them to Sprint.
  17. You have access to some invaluable information and it sounds like you were looking for some other reason to stay. Phoenix should be well covered soon enough and customer service would have been obliged to send you a new airave. If you save money and are satisfied, good luck to you.
  18. Visit the Hawaii thread for an example. I know in Huntington Beach, permits for upgrades are $10k, i have towers within a few miles of my residence that have delays for back-haul. You can look up permits in SB county here. I don't know your experience in any construction field, but getting engineers to sign off on work is not just a quick look and you're done. What we do not know is why the acceptance from sprint is delayed, what is the cause for any delay in acceptance and what criteria are not met during the acceptance process. Become a sponsor and you can see some information you're not privy to as a member, but i won't sit here and attempt to persuade you that there are other people delaying this outside of sprint.
  19. -100% agree on OIS. -I will fight you tooth and nail with is the "MP" count. This has always been one of the WORST selling points of cameras for years and I'm sure others will agree with me on that. It is all about the sensor and the ultra-pixel sensor has been one of the best I have used on a phone outside of the Sony cybershot cameras. The WHOLE point of a 4MP camera is that most people will use the pictures on their phone or computer/ TV screen. 8.1 MP, which is my DSLRs sensor size, is HUGE and fits on only 4k UHD TV’s. Unless people are printing a picture BIGGER than 9x16, 4MP is perfect for them. -agree as long as form factor remains similar or even smaller -agreed -agreed again, this is one of the best selling points since the kickstand -Don’t think the processing is going to matter much since I don’t game anyways. -Increasing the battery will make the phone thicker, which I don’t mind, however with the whole point of phones being thin is to beat the competition and make a phone as thin as possible which means smaller batteries to accommodate for the newer tech. I’m ok with a thicker phone, but most would say “oh, it’s thicker than X phone” and blah. -With the network expanding and unlimited data, streaming is where it’s at. -know nothing about this -4.4 should be a no brainer.
  20. Think about it like this. You're looking at upgrading your phone in the near future. You're still on the old LTEVO (EVO LTE) and you're thinking that you want a tri-band phone. You look at the maps and see that you're in the IBEZ zone and know you won't be getting 800 LTE anytime soon and you're not going to be getting Clear's 2.6 Ghz since they were not in your area. You now know you've got about two years before your market is going to be announced for the new spark network so now you know you can get single-band lte phones instead of that tri-band phone. you've now figured you can get the Note 3 on sale for $49 from a retailer and wait 20 months to upgrade. That $100 can now get you to premier sponsoring and suddenly, that savings was worth the addiction you've now grown to have checking for newly accepted sites and the awesome premier info you get for that $100.
  21. I guess I could skip on the Nexus and wait for this.
  22. These set ups require multiple subcontractors. The easier it is for the subcontractors to complete the work, the faster acceptence of sites becomes. Sprint PLANNED for the 38,000 sites to be worked on by subcontractors, who had to get permits, backhaul, equipment, etc. approved and purchased to complete the work. Some of that work is subcontracted out, so there are even more variables that dictate when sites are accepted. Sprints issue is only whom they subcontracted out to. Municipalities and vendors and subcontractors are the issue for the majority of the work being done.
  23. I'm going to try radioshack in the AM and see if they get any in.
  24. Tough times Jon, but the strong will persevere. You wife will understand, and so will your PS4/X1. if you don't want the PS4, people are selling them for profit on ebay.
