  1. How is the new radio on the N5 4.4.3 spark update? Is it improved over the 4.4.2 update?
  2. Yes if I were Sprint and needed to divest some spectrum, I would sell the EBS spectrum to Dish and some PCS/AWS spectrum to the regional carriers. Verizon and AT&T don't need any spectrum since Verizon has the lions share of AWS spectrum with the SpectrumCo deal and AT&T has both WCS and Leap spectrum.
  3. I will be so mad if this merger goes through given that that the 600 MHz spectrum auction rules were set for Sprint AND Tmobile to benefit by allowing them to obtain some 600 MHz spectrum I mean Sprint and Tmobile merging doesn't change the fact that they don't have that much sub <1 GHz spectrum but the FCC will have to revisit their stance on these rules given that Sprint/Tmobile will have a ton of mid band spectrum even after the divestitures. I was really hoping the 600 MHz auction would occur first and both Sprint and Tmobile as separate companies would gobble up a decent amount of 600 MHz spectrum before merging. Now this idea goes down the toilet. Seems like one of those moves that I must critique Son about especially on the timing of this proposal which is not a good move on his part. Son seems too impatient to try to merge the 2 companies.

    LG G3

I don't think this was mentioned in the presentation but is the G3 IP67 waterproof and dustproof resistant? That would be nice if it did but since I don't think it was mentioned I am going to assume that is not. Such a shame though to a pretty solid phone. I guess LG doesn't copy everything Samsung does. No fingerprint sensor and no IP67 waterproof rating.

    LG G3

If anything the GS6, HTC One M9 and the LG G4 can possibly get the 8T8R capability but certainly not any of the remaining 2014 flagships like the iPhone 6 or Note 4. Who knows what the dates are going to be because of all the recent top level management turnover we don't know how the ship is being sailed right now. The claim is that NV 1.0 is suppose to be completed by 1H 2014 but I don't see that happening anytime soon given that some markets have barely started. There are still a ton of NV sites that have NV 3G upgraded but don't have B25 LTE yet.

    LG G3

Let me rephrase this to be clear. I don't see Sprint deploying B41 LTE that takes full advantage of 8T8R until a few more years. Sprint certainly can put up the 8T8R RRUs up going forward in markets that haven't been started yet. However Sprint doesn't have the backhaul (which I assume would have to be 1 Gbps just by itself) at any of their NV or Clearwire sites at the moment to support the true 8T8R LTE speeds nor are the majority of the major markets like NYC, Chicago, LA, etc that have a ton of B41 LTE up and running already have B41 LTE 8T8R RRU equipment capable of supporting those speeds unless Sprint goes back and reinstalls those towers with the new 8T8R RRUs. Its great that they start with some smaller markets and wish them all success with the 8T8R RRUs but the true voice that would be heard from most Sprint customers will come from major markets. It certainly doesn't hurt to have the 8T8R LTE support capability in the phone but I just don't see it being necessary at this time.

    LG G3

I think we will be waiting a pretty long time before we see that happening any time soon on B41 LTE. I wouldn't worry about a phone that doesn't have 8T8R capability. Who knows when the starting point is if when 8T8R RRUS are being put up at the Clearwire towers and all the existing B41 LTE sites are not 8T8R capable so they will need to be retrofitted AGAIN at some point unless Sprint doesn't care.

    LG G3

Basically the tech bloggers who actually did the "hands-on" of the LG G3 in the showroom confirmed it is still plastic. It has a metal-like finish from the outside but the backing is still plastic since it is removable.

    LG G3

Actually I am looking at the dimensions of the phone and the LG G3 is about the same height as the HTC One M8 except the LG G3 has a 0.5 inch larger screen than the HTC One M8. The LG G3 dimensions are not simply the same as the LG G2 but with smaller bezels. LG G2 = 5.45 x 2.79 x 0.35 inches (138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9 mm) LG G3 = 5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35 inches (146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm) HTC One M8 = 5.76 x 2.78 x 0.37 inches (146.36 x 70.6 x 9.35 mm) GS5 = 5.59 x 2.85 x 0.32 inches (142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm) LG did a great job one again in bringing back some of the key features which made Samsung stand out which were removable battery and microSD card support. Love the "polished metal finish" look even though it is still plastic. I'll be interesting in seeing this new laser auto focus and the QHD resolution. Nice specs overall and "keeps up with the jones".
  10. No word yet on their roaming plan beyond July 2016. Who knows how long 600 MHz equipment will take to have enough equipment ramped up in production and crews to deploy the 600 MHz spectrum. I think at this point, Sprint needs to focus on deploying 800 MHz CDMA and LTE like gangbusters between now and July 2016 to close the gap as close as possible.
  11. The Alltel roaming agreement does expire on July 1, 2016.

    LG G3

Trust me the US variant of the G3 won't use the Odin processor. It will be a Qualcomm processor due to Qualcomm having superior chips for CDMA/LTE integration. Don't you even think twice about it. The Odin processor variant will be for the international version only.
  13. Hopefully at least 70 MHz is freed up from the broadcasters for the 600 MHz spectrum so that 30 MHz is reserved for bid for Sprint and Tmobile. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/fcc-incentive-auction-rules-likely-benefit-sprint-t-mobile-and-smaller-carr/2014-05-15
  14. About freakin time this happened. It only makes sense for AT&T to own the remaining bits of the WCS spectrum.
  15. So try again and see if it works? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  16. The 900 MHz band is NOT included in B26. B26 only covers 814-849 MHz and 862-897 MHz

OH LG....how you never disappoint me in "Ctrl+C" Samsung.

    LG G3

No point of wasting resources on a G2+. LG should just focus on making a G3 and make it great and everyone will be happy.
  19. Exactly. I mean why would late night want to hear Robert talk about Sprint LTE all the time
  20. Carriers stopped carrying the different memory storages for phones (not named iPhone) just because the sales for the higher capacity Android phones (ex: 32 GB GS3 or whatever) didn't sell well or not enough demand because they already have a microSD card slot. Most folks opt to get the just the basic 16 GB model and pop in a huge microSD card slot to get their mass storage fix instead of paying an extra $100 to get 16 GB more of internal memory. Even a 64 GB microSD card slot is way cheaper than paying an extra $100. This way it helps the carriers reduce the number of skus and inventory that most folks aren't going to order anyways. With the HTC One and LG G2 last year where there was no microSD card slot, all the US carriers opted to sell just the 32 GB model since they knew folks were going to complain since there was no way to add more storage and why the carriers wouldn't at least sell the higher storage model.
  21. Just because I am a nice guy. Direct link http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/LS980/Stock_Firmware/LS980ZVC_12.zip XDA thread about this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702422
  22. Shouldn't folks know by now that if you want to learn or be aware of all the latest hacks, tweaks, etc of any cell phone (not named iPhone) to go look on XDA-developers.com forums to find out about this stuff? I swear I see these questions always come up and the answer is always xda-developers.
  23. HAHA...such a troll . Awesome help with just the main website.
  24. I wonder if there is a plan to go back to all the current B41 sites and upgrade them to 8T8R equipment. I think there should be. However I think for now its more important for Sprint to just continue to expand the B41 LTE coverage with Clearwire sites and then once all the Clearwire sites are done, then go back and retrofit all the existing Clearwire sites that were not upgraded to 8T8R equipment.
  25. Does this mean the current b41 sites that have had equipment upgrades are not 8T8R capable? Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
