  1. Well the N5 .15 radio is a beast. The N5 .17 .23 radio not so much based on what I have read. The verdict is still out there on whether the new Spark update radio will have the .15 radio RF performance along with supporting B26 and B41. Either way if you are a N5 owner and download the Spark update, you will have to use the new Spark update radio regardless of the RF performance. If you have the Spark update firmware installed and then flash the old .15 radio then you are not getting B26 and B41 accessibility and lose the Spark functionality. EDIT: Updated correct reference to .23 radio instead of the .17 radio since that was wrong radio version. Thanks lilotimz.
  2. Do you remember the HTC Evo 4G LTE with HD Voice capability and how HTC was showing off HD voice? When HTC did the demo with HD voice it should be able to cut down on the background noise when on a call dramatically. There should be still some ambient noise but the for the most part HD voice calls are very clear. I would say do more tests in noisy situations between the two G2 phones and see if you get the same thing. Maybe it is on and maybe not but hopefully we can get some confirmation by a sprint rep or corporate. The NV sites definitely have the capability to do so with 1xA installed but just not sure everything has been enabled yet to support HD voice. I believe that certain encoders need to be enabled so you might want to verify that as well.
  3. Don't get the Note 3. It should be out of the question since it is NOT a triband LTE device. Unless you absolutely love the S-pen feature and cannot live without SVLTE then get the Note 3 but I still wouldn't advise it. I personally have a G2 and I love it. Don't know much about the G Flex but it should be a solid device. It is a big screen that will satisfy anyone who loves big screens but the verdict is still too early on the G Flex. I always tell people to go to a Sprint store and try it out. There is nothing that I could say or do that can replace your first hand experience with playing with each of the phones.
  4. Doesn't matter if its a G2 to G2 call. There are other factors that need to be in place before HD voice will be launched. Also we don't know the effects of how handing off from a HD voice capable site (NV upgraded) to a non-HD voice capable site (non-NV upgraded) will occur. Perhaps Sprint might be waiting until NV 1.0 is complete before deploying HD voice.
  5. Just enable all LTE bands and keep band priorities all set to 1 if you want Sprint default.
  6. I noticed you started a thread on XDA in the Sprint Note 3 General section claiming a triband Note 3 was coming to Sprint without verifying the facts first.
  7. People always get Band 25: 2 Band: 26: 3 Band: 41: 1 and B25 = 0 B26 = 0 B41 = 1 confused. The B25 = 0 B26 = 0 B41 = 1 is only viewable when you "Edit" the Band Priorities. Band 25: 2 Band: 26: 3 Band: 41: 1 is only viewable when you "View" the Band Priority.
  8. Set the following Band Priorities B25 = 0 B26 = 0 B41 = 1
  9. No no...I was talking basically after you do the ZVA firmware update, check to see if B26 and B41 were automatically enabled. If not do a Profile and PRL update and then check to see if B26 and B41 are now enabled. If they now enabled, then do the band priority changes that I outlined. Any time you do a profile update and PRL update after you change the Band Priorities it will want to default back to B25 first.

    LG G Flex LS995

I went to check out this phone yesterday at a Sprint store and man is this phone huge. I noticed some of the icons in the app drawer look a bit different but not a big deal. I couldn't really test the flexibility of the phone on pressing on the back of the phone due to the security tags that are attached which prevented me. Looks to be a solid device. I do think it needs a 1080p+ screen resolution for such a large screen. Didn't spend too much time trying to review the screen quality between the G Flex and G2.
  11. When in doubt for those that don't have B41 and B26 automatically enabled after the Spark update, do a Profile and PRL update. That should fix the issue.
  12. Good point. It sounds like a great reason why some people didnt have their LTE bands auto enabled after taking the OTA. They must have manually enabled B26 or B41 in addition. Would be nice if someone could confirm if this is true.
  13. Verizon and ATT should not be talking in the first place. If anything I see Sprint giving concessions on its 2.5 GHz spectrum if needed to satisfy the FCC. Sprint doesn't need 120 MHz of 2.5 GHz.

    LG G Flex LS995

I think its time to create a LG G Flex Users Thread! and close this thread. Do you want to do the honors since you are one of the first folks here to get the G Flex?
  15. Yes but you know in theory that the 20 MHz TD-LTE carrier from B41 will surpass a 5x5 MHz FDD-LTE carrier from B25 any day if both sides have sufficient backhaul and of course in a good signal area.
  16. If you leave the default settings of 1 all across it won't hurt your phone and the default settings the phone will search for is 25>26>41. This means that if you have B25 and B41 LTE in your area, the phone will choose to connect to B25 first over B41 LTE which is a slower LTE carrier since B25 is only a 5x5 currently. By doing the steps outlined in my post of setting it to 41>25>26, you force the phone to scan for B41 LTE first so that whereever available it connects to very fast "Spark" LTE since B41 uses 20 MHz TD-LTE carriers that can reach 50-60 Mbps. The thing is though, if you live in a market that is not yet Spark ready or doesn't have any B41 LTE around you, this doesn't really matter. For me since I live in a Spark market, I want to be using B41 LTE whenever possible since I want fast LTE speeds.
  17. Yes "LTE Enable/Disable" means B25. Not sure why Sprint didn't just spell it out especially if they spelled out Band 26 and Band 41 already. But since Sprint only uses B25, B26 and B41 for LTE it is B25.
  18. Interesting. I guess it worked for some people to not have to manually enable the bands and some do. Either way you have the steps to do what I stated.
  19. And you are sure you got the ZVA firmware update? That is weird. You shouldn't have to manually enable B26 and B41. Does your bootup animation show up as Sprint Spark?
  20. If you took the Spark update you don't have to manually enable Bands 41 and 26. what you need to do is reboot the phone again first. If you do not have the Spark update this will not work.
  21. I just edited the post so you missed it. You can get your MSL number by typing the following dialer code ##443336772#
  22. Yes sir!! You can get your MSL by typing the following dialer code ##443336772#
  23. Before you try this you need to get your MSL number. You can get your MSL number by typing the following dialer code ##443336772#. Now that you have your MSL number do the following: 1. On the phone dialer, type ##DATA# (##3282#) 2. Select "LTE" and press "Edit" 3. Enter your 6 digit MSL number. 4. Change the following Band Priorities to the following Band 25 = 0 Band 26 = 0 Band 41 = 1 5. Once you back out of the menu, the phone will automatically reboot. 6. On the phone dialer, type ##DATA# (##3282#) 7. Select "LTE" and press "View" 8. Select "Band Priority" and verify the band priorities are set to 41>25>26.
  24. In order to get 41>25>26, you have to edit the Band priorities to be Band 25 = 0 Band 26 = 0 Band 41 = 1 After you make those changes and do a restart, your Band priority is 41>25>26
  25. Well if this is the main reason you don't use the G2 then I don't know what to say..LOL. I guess the Nexus 5 is better suited for you.
