  1. What's everyone's favorite or go to speed test server in the Speedtest.net app. My go to was always towerstream but it has since disappeared. There alot more than there was a year ago. I recall only having 3 NYC based ones, now there are 9 total. Sprint now has there own but it's not always the auto selected one. I also noticed anyone can use it unlike T-Mobiles which only allow T-Mobile devices to connect to.
  2. Syracuse NY is most definitely a market with B41 present. Has been that way for quite a few years. This question is better of asked in Market Thread http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2462-network-visionlte-upstate-new-york-markets-central-east-including-syracuse-albany-binghamton-ithaca-utica/
  3. Was in philly this past weekend and noticed these all along market street at almost every corner. Any idea who these belong too. Also noticed my hotel, The Westin, had a Verizon DAS in it.
  4. Only one of them. Its possible the second one didn't make the cut off. Hopefully it will show on the next update. I also received word that 3 more 3G only sites are funded and will be getting LTE in the near future. Was told the issue wasn't permits "delay was caused by contract negotiations with our equipment vendor and not with permits or some other delay." One of this sites is a normal mono pole. the second is a stealth monopole. The third is a stealth pole with the antennas on the outside and covered by some sort of tube looking thing.
  5. Weren't NYC small cells already in place and just needed to be converted from WiMax to LTE?
  6. Just discovered 2 GMO flag poles sites that received LTE. Also found 4 more sites with a second B25 carrier. Looks like things are shaping up. Both of the flag poles were marked complete on the NV Updates maps years ago but I was never able to get LTE from them. The LTE coverage still doesn't show up on the coverage maps either. Waiting for the next update to see if any other sites have had LTE turned on.
  7. I meant the second address in that post. Or are they the same location?
  8. I can't seem to find this location on google maps. Found the other 3 no problem.
  9. I drove through Bronx today on the Cross Bronx Expressway from the Throgs Neck to GW Bridge. First off the part leading up to the bridge made me feel like I was in a 3rd world country. But the data speeds also made me feel that way. I connected to several B41 sites and sectors with 2xCA. Signals were strong and it was about 3-4Pm yet I couldn't get above .5Mbps. Is this normal for the Bronx? Are the sites that congested or is there a major backhaul problem?
  10. Sprint also has pcs being used for 3G. does that 15mhz of pcs from open mobile include there 3G and LTE?
  11. Hey everyone, this page has been quiet for a few days but that usually a good thing. Any way if you are Premier Member check out my map of the Long Island Market. I figured I might as well share it here since the markets are next to each other. Also I figured a lot of people who work in New York City live on the Island. I actually include data points for Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. I figured the sites in Manhattan and The Bronx are to dense to map. I could use all the help I could get. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7658-long-island-market-map/
  12. Hi Everyone! If you are Premier Member check out my map of the market I made. I could use all the help I could get. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/7658-long-island-market-map/
  13. Is that MTN in South Africa. I'll be there in April and plan on getting a Sim from them. Much cheaper than vodacom and solid coverage. In my opinion Vodacom is like Verizon here and MTN is like AT&T. I was going to get 5 or 10 GB data only prepaid plan for R430 or R650. I believe these plans are 2 month at a time. My sister is there for 5 month and is on the 5Gb plan. Im worried it won't be enough.
  14. Will do! Any sort of logging I should do using SCP? I was going to ask the folks over at the ShenTelos Tracking thread in the Premier Section if they would like me to log my drive there.
  15. I'm going to be in Lewisburg late June early July. Anyone know how the network is there. Any B41 or 10x10 B25?
  16. I thought Band 13 was a subset of Band 17 which is a subset of Band 12
  17. They could decommission Band 13 and sell or trade it to t-mobile or AT&T or a local carrier for more PCS band. My understanding is that Open Mobile uses PCS for CDMA. Sprint can consolidate all of there PCS and have 1x and 3G in 5x5 and have up to 20x20 of PCS LTE depending on how much spectrum they have. They might have to spilt it into multiple carriers but it would really improve the network. I would assume Open Mobiles equipment is compatible with Sprint CDMA and is at least some of it is compatible with Sprint 1900LTE. IMO Sprint still should have bought the 800 SMR in that auction few month back.
  18. Can't wait for Verizon to pay Sprint for roaming. Hopefully they can charge them a ridiculous rate since Verizon really doesn't have another option in PR edit: i guess they technically can roam on a GSM carrier like they do in other countries. Same as sprint does
  19. Would any one be interested in putting together a Premier Sponsor Map for Long Island. I would love to collect SCP data and put together a map showing what bands each site has and how many B25 and B41 carriers are present.
  20. Was in the city Saturday Night and I can't believe how many small cells I connected too. Here was the highlight of it. Hit 115Mbps and 15ms Ping. http://imgur.com/a/aWrE3
  21. Is the new 4G LTE service from GMO, or is a rebuilds part of the movement your talking about?
  22. what type of small cells are these in the other boroughs, are they clear wimax conversions like the ones in Manhattan or completely new builds.
  23. has any LTE Plus been spotted in Albany NY. Its the last large city in NY that doesn't have any LTE Plus according to the coverage map.
  24. Really wish they were able to offer faster upload speeds. FIOS offers symmetrical download and upload.
  25. Yes this site has had B25/26 since 2012. There are 2 sites that cover the down/city and than 2 slightly outside the city limits but still in the town. These only have 3G, I'm hoping they eventually get LTE so congestion on the inner two goes down and coverage is better.
