  1. I was just shocked that I almost hit the top speed. Once that site get B41 even if its a Mini Macro with a max of 2xCA that area is going to be rock solid. Its right on the border of Nassau County. Its crazy the difference in speeds between the two areas.
  2. Went back and was able to hit 62Mbps. Checked the debug screen and it was B25CA. I guess this site doesn't have a heavy load since max speed is just under 75Mbps. The site has always been pretty fast even with the single B25 carrier it had. I guess the neighboring site with B41 covers a decent chunk of its coverage. At one point I dropped down to B26 and was able to hit 20Mbps. Haven't seen B26 that fast since it launched. I'll go back again and take screen shots tomorrow. It is hard to try to do everything while stopped at red lights. I have site notes for both sites but when connected to the B25CA it wouldn't display either note.
  3. I think I connected to a new small cell in Queens on Northern Blvd & Little Neck Parkway. SCP only displayed "Sprint" and had no band listed. Speed test hit 50Mbps. There is a macro site only a block down on Little Neck Parkway without B41. Didn't see any changes to the antennas on the roof but that site has 2 antennas per a sector. I'll be back there later today to check my DEBUG screen to see if its actually B41 or maybe B25CA. I'll look around for small cells too.
  4. What exactly does "Reducing Qrxlevmin values on sites across the country (I can now comfortably hold all LTE bands down to signal levels as low as -126 in my market, for example)" mean. I just noticed this around my area about 2 weeks ago. I am holding on to B41 signal as low as -133. This is causing me to have B41 coverage where I've never had it before without any site upgrades. Its kinda of annoying since the weak signal produces slower speeds than the B25/B26 only tower that much closer. or when I hold on to a weak B25 or B26 signal with unusable speeds instead of jumping down to usable 3G that's faster than 2Mbps
  5. Thinking about it now I most likely was connected to B25 2XCA in Mid Town. When driving around my phone at one point was connected to B25 and a speed test was above 25Mbps. It was the slowest of my test while in Manhattan. They should really slim down CDMA some more in NYC. I believe they could have 10x10 and 5x5 in the G Block and still have some left for CDMA carriers. edit: Just checked they have enough for 15x15 B25 in the B-block if they remove 1x and 3G CDMA. So 10x10 is possible. CDMA would be very slim since I believe they need a guard band.
  6. I hope they spend money to put Sprint B41 on sites that don't have any B41 first before replacing Clear Sites. I know in some markets they had to do it because of having huawei equipment. If they replace NYC Clear equipment like they did the huawei equipment they used Mini Macros which also only have 2xCA so it would be a waste. Maybe they would put 64T64R equipment where Clear equipment is currently.
  7. I was wondering how long it was going to take for B25 CA to start. Surprised it was first found in the Bronx and not in Manhattan. I hope it comes to Long Island soon.
  8. I was all over Mid Town yesterday connected to B41 90% of the time. Speeds were never below 25mbps and most of the time were over 35mbps. Ever time I checked I was connected to 3xCA
  9. A 2nd B25 carrier just went live on another site in Rockville Centre. Speeds have increased a lot. Sprint just needs to turn this on at every site since B41 is scarce. Its much cheaper than a B41 install and since almost 100% of site have LTE 3G isn't needed as much. Its very rare that I drop B26 to 3G/1x/1x800 If anyone knows of a site with a 2nd B25 carrier let me know. I keep a map/log of updates in the premier section.
  10. I put together this chart on google sheets comparing the offerings all 3 carriers have for international roaming. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DiJGIEt4p-fk0oy5yCtx1zLnykRF83rHcc89FqPeuk8/edit?usp=sharing
  11. Totally agree sprint is or can be top dog in Manhattan. But unfortunately they are lagging behind in the rest of the boroughs
  12. I would guess its either site density or backhaul issues than. If it doesn't improve much when 3xCA is rolled out in Boston than I would guess its backhaul.
  13. Could Sprint be that much more congested than Verizon? Does Sprint have that many more customers than Verizon. I believe Verizon most likely has 40 to 55 mhz of spectrum with 3xCA, while Sprint only has 40 mhz with 2xCA at the moment. Sprint also has 10 to 15 mhz additional spectrum not available with B41. You would think Sprint would be in the lead with less subscribers and equal or more spectrum available.. I guess it could also be cell density. Maybe you're too close to the cell.
  14. I'm very curious to see how Sprint will perform in the Root Metric Q1 2017 reports. Unfortunately they also include LI, Northern Jersey and Westchester which cause the results to be lower and not a true representation of NYC. But if I remember correctly these small cells weren't all live during the Q2 2016 testing which took place 11/28 -11/3. Now that a lot more are live and now all Clear Sites have 2xCA I expect the results to increase. Also 3xCA is popping in the very congested areas which are most likely testing spots for Root Metrics. I also posted in the Long Island thread about hearing from a local RF technician a lot more sites in Long Island are going to receive B41 in the second half of the . He also mention micro mini when I asked about small cells which leaves me to believe those sites getting B41 aren't getting 8t8r equipment but micromini equipment to save time and money. If Q1 results don't have a huge bump in grades I am certain by the end of the year Sprint will have potential to be top dog in NYC.
  15. I know you've been noticing small cells in the Bronx and they all seem to be pretty close to each other. Either that specific area is really congested or they plan on branching out and doing that everywhere. Are these smalls cells are the same style of the wimax ones that got converted to LTE in Manhattan? I hope they start in Queens and than Brooklyn soon.
  16. i really wish the MTA and other carriers could get service into the the East River Tunnel Also anyone notice more 2nd 5x5 b25 carriers. Specifically outside of Manhattan where B41 is lacking density?
  17. was it only B25 before? i recall it getting LTE not to far back but does it really need B26? Was there dead zones on LTE?
  18. Yes I know its one of the toughest in the United States. But I believe the sites is a little out of date since I believe all the providers sued TOH and the FCC even passed laws that the TOH was violating
  19. I discovered one more GMO site a few weeks ago. It's just a normally looking tower but I believe it's still GMO due to weight or permit restrictions. Both t-mobile and at&t are on the site and they both have very old and small antennas on the site as well. This site is NY27XC695, which I've be told from Sprint. In September or October I was told that it would have LTE by Q1 2017. It was on the last week of March, so right on time I also want to note NY07XC714 which I was told would get a second b25 carrier in Q1 2017 didn't but NY54XC858 did get a second b25 carrier even though I was told it wouldn't I also reached out to corporate about a few areas/sites and have be talking to someone who has been asking my question to a local RF technicians. I got some good news about the long island market. NY54XC859 is flagpole looking site which is near NY27XC695 and is also GMO. I was recently told the site would be done in 6 months which meant 7/1/17. The email confirmed this but they added some interesting notes. This is what they said about these two sites "We ran into a delay here where any aspect of installation requires Town of Hempstead approval – Renew Zoning, full CD’s, Permitting, FCC report, etc. Current forecast approval date from the town is about 90 days out. If Hempstead doesn’t delay or filibuster, which they probably will, 120 days total or 4-5 months best case for now till 1900 LTE deployment." I than ask a few more questions Related to Rockville Centre, Oceanside, Baldwin, and Oceanside Was this in reference to the 3G site near Grand Ave and Sunrise Hwy? ( the previous answer about permits) Yes NY54XC859 The reset of the sites have everything but 2500mhz / LTE Plus which I was told would relieve congestion. Any reason for those delays and is there any timeline for 2500mhz to be available. A good portion of the Long Island market is in the process of having 2500 MHz added to the cascades. The majority of them should be completed by the end of this June 2017. The Great Neck location is in a different town as well so I don't know if the same delays apply there Same answer as the previous question. I've read about sprints "Small Cell" plans. Is there any plans to bring these to the long Island area? Or just additional cell towers/sites. Small Cells or Mini Macros, as Dr. John Saw refers to them, will begin deployment in the Long Island market later on this year. Last time I spoke to someone they sent me a email from outline the details of the cell site that cover the address I sent over. Below is an example. Any way to get an updated report like this? "66 Lincoln Ave Rockville Center, NY 11570 Serving site: NY07XC714, sector 2 Voice coverage: Good LTE coverage: LTE Plus – Fair • 4G 2.5 – TBD Feedback: • NY54XC858, sector 2 also serves area • Both sites do not have any major performance issues • Both sites have 4G 1900/800 LTE deployed • Serving site is capacity stressed thus slower speeds • 2nd 4G 1900 LTE carrier funded on NY07XC714. Expected on-air 1Q 2017. • No 4G 2.5 solution funded" I will ask my manager if we can provide this amount of information to the customer. I hope Sprint will keep to these plans these next 9 month. I will giving Sprint another 12 before I leave for another carrier. Slow data speeds have really been affecting my daily life and would be a lot less stressed If I switched.
  20. The carrier is MTN and in both Johannesburg and Cape Town Airports I received LTE. I have a very strong signal the whole time I believe there is a DAS in both airports. Once I left the airport in Cape town to head to our place I've been stuck on HSPA with 2G speeds. I had Open World enabled before a day before my trip but i decided it and put Global Roaming back on. I didn't want to spend $30/Gb. While in both Airports the speeds seemed to be unthrottled on LTE. I don't know if that's because I had Open World on before but I did make sure to update my profile to make sure everything would be correct. It might also because MTN wants to offload all their data on to LTE because of capacity reasons. Phone calls pushed the phone to HSPA. My moms is also here with her Sprint iPhone 6 I added Open World on her line instead of Global Roaming so we can use facetime. At the airports she also had LTE but now she only has HSPA at 3G speeds here the SCP screenshot https://goo.gl/photos/cpqGz2GCavvvHpFM7
  21. a few times along this route https://goo.gl/maps/9qiSNoWdVDG2 . forgot to mention I'm using a LG V20. Im in South Africa at the moment with Global Roaming on my account and in both airports I connected to B3 LTE. Seems like LTE roaming for Sprint has gotten more widespread.
  22. Same thing happened to me this weekend in Upstate New York. Heres my reddit post about it with some photos. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/comments/636jum/att_roaming/
  23. Both sites in oneonta have been upgrade with a second 5x5 B25 carrier. Still waiting for the B41 upgrade that I posted the permits for earlier.
  24. Is this site totally new or just finally had NV1.0 and then B41 installed? It appears on the NV Updates map as not having any work done.
