  1. If you don't care about deployments and where work is being done, why bother coming to this website at all? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
  2. I think that could cause more problems than it solves.
  3. What kind of music app struggles to stream with 1-2 Mbps? I've streamed Pandora on high quality with a little less than that.
  4. Interesting. I'm a little surprised and disappointed that the mighty Southern Company didn't just reach into their chump change jar and buy t-mobile altogether... Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
  5. No contract or activated service is needed to use Direct Talk. I do believe a SIM card is needed in the iDEN handsets though.
  6. I saw work being done on the site right off of the I-15 and Neal just before getting to the South Point (if heading northbound). Couldn't snap pictures though.
  7. While I'm currently an android user, "better" is such a highly subjective term which causes so many unnecessary flame wars on the interwebz. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Yeah, there are some slow cell sites in Vegas for sure. However, by and large my 3G is generally usable in most of the areas that I frequent. Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
  9. It seems like they're trying to position themselves for some 600MHz spectrum (way) down the line. http://www.fiercebroadbandwireless.com/story/t-mobile-pushes-its-own-plan-600-mhz-mobile-broadband/2013-02-04
  10. Was there anything mentioned or any questions asked about the Clearwire acquisition and/or 2.5GHz TD-LTE?
  11. I imagine this could somewhat explain a post I saw around S4GRU somewhere (and for the life of me, I can't remember where), stating something to the effect of Sprint really starting to crack the whip on the contractors to really move things along with regards to NV. It would be a real kick to the....groin to let t-mobile come up from behind and pass them in LTE coverage.
  12. Wow, $117M for one residence. It must be nice...
  13. I don't know if that was the exact wording or intent, but I believe that this is the relevant document on the subject: http://transition.fcc.gov/bureaus/ib/sand/agree/files/800.pdf
  14. Another potentially interesting development on the periphery: http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/24/google-experimental-wireless-network/
  15. An interesting theory about Dish's attempted interference: http://www.bizjourna....html?ana=yfcpc
  16. That, I don't know. I don't see why they wouldn't have the full 14MHz there, but AJ would almost certainly know better than I. The FCC docs that I found only provide the calls signs for the SMR licenses that Nextel purchased in PR and everywhere else. What you posit sounds quite plausible imho regarding the concern over international interference. What I like to check periodically is the 800 TA. The latest report came out a couple of weeks ago: http://www.800ta.org/content/reporting/QPR_09.30.12.pdf Pages 29-31 and devoted solely to Puerto Rico and the USVI. If I'm interpreting the document correctly, the USVI is all cleared and ready to go for 800MHz whenever Sprint is ready (provided that there are no interference concerns with neighboring countries) and PR's clearing and re-banding is progressing quite rapidly as well.
  17. Ok, I guess I just got a bit confused. No market is getting LTE 800 initially are they?
  18. The key word there seems to be initially. Anyway, here's the post that I was referring to with the links to the FCC docs: http://s4gru.com/ind...dpost__p__73032
