  1. It's actually a Sprint tower. Same device is installed on the Sprint tower at the 85/87 transition. This was seen along 880 in Union City. Top row is all Sprint.
  2. I noticed this new antenna, a small round cylinder on several Sprint towers. What is this for? http://s29.postimg.org/vltvezkc7/image.png
  3. That looks like one of the old and never removed modems from Richocet, a system that was shut down long time ago. I used it in OC and it was wireless surfing at 128Kbps!
  4. Sprint is deploying more and more B41 sites and I have seen locations in the Bay Area where I get no B25 but very nice and fast B25. Not sure why but Sprint needs to fix it.
  5. I would love if Sprint would build out all major freeways and grows from there into small comunities along the Interstates. Let's look at I-15 between LA and Las Vegas, there is still no LTE coverage and coverage is spotty. Same for I-5 between LA and Sacramento. Coverage has improved but I don't know why Sprint is not finally handling this strech of major roadway. T-Mobile just has a great marketing department and they will sell you water and call it TMobile H2O and people will buy it as something unseen in the market place.
  6. Network was briefly back up for a few minutes. I guess WiMax refused to die before it was gone for good.
  7. Not sure what is goin on with T-Mobile lately in the East Bay but I see on my iPhone 6s more and more 4G. LTE seems to get really spotty and congested.
  8. Wimax was shut down around 9am this morning. It seems like the network was shutdown in clusters because I wasn't able to connect to WiMax in San Jose since midnight but in Hayward, the network was on air until 9am. RIP
  9. I have seen them along I-880 in the Bay Area and it looks AT&T is finally doing something.
  10. Wimax in the Bay Area is still running strong. Getting currently about 13!MB down.
  11. You see on directy in front of the Linq (in the center of the road), same at the MGM/NYNY. The Casinos have their own DAS systems in place and most of them are still not LTE
  12. I had EVDO roaming last night in San Jose on my old HTC EVO 4G in a parking garage. Although Wimax still runs stong in the area, Sprint's 3G signal was not available. On my iPhone 6s, LTE was stong on B26.
  13. That would make Las Vegas one of the 3CA markets because there was no clear conversion. I see more and more former Clear sites in the East Bay being replaced or upgraded, broadcasting as Sprint sites. I hope Sprint will not take too long to finally rip and replace all current Clear equipment after WiMax has been shut down.
  14. Sprint already runs small cells on the Strip.
  15. I will try but the tower is located on I-880 and hard to take a good picture. I found another very interesting tower and I'm planning to take pictures on Saturday.
  16. Phoenix is really an odd ball. Still no word when the Bay Area goes dark.
  17. There is still a lot of WiMax love in the Bay Area and I hope it stays that way for a little longer. I have seen crews working on some WiMax towers today, and it look as if Sprint is starting to add new RUU's in the area
  18. What are the red dots? Has the service in these areas been killed off already? Why is Phoenix on the list that never had Wimax launched officially?
  19. AJ, seriously? Is this an excuse to justify that the WiMax countdown was in the wrong section? I have not seen the post before where a nice map was available to see which parts of the country go dark. Your job is to keep the board moderated, so what took so long to move the thread into the right section? You don't have to be a jerk to make a point, unless this is the only way you like to handle issues? Robert, this is something you should teach AJ, because we all make mistakes.
  20. I shop online but I prefer to see and touch a new device in the store to see if it works out for me. Glad I did this before I bought my last LG device because the Flex looked nice, but only online. In reality it was not the type of handset for me and I went for the G3.
  21. Pretty large area to be forgotten unless WiMAX is being used for other purposes in the Bay Area.
