  1. i think i broke something on the beta.... i had the beta site notes enabled and it was working good. I rebooted my phone and when it came back up it wasn't showing the new site note stuff anymore. I tried turning the setting on and off but still only showed the old site notes. I even tried an uninstall and reinstall and its not showing any site notes regardless if i have the setting on or off. let me know what you need from me to take a look.
  2. 4th place in 1st half 2014 http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/des-moines-ia/2014/1H to 2nd place in 2nd half 2014 http://www.rootmetrics.com/us/rsr/des-moines-ia/2014/2H I'll take it! basically mirrors what i see around here too, having both a work phone on verizon and a personal phone on sprint. in some spots verizon wins on speed and in some spots sprint wins on speed, but overall they are both very usable and sprint is much better than what it was 9 months ago!!!
  3. not all towers in lincoln are getting B41, but the ones that do have it installed are live, have been confirmed by members here. as far as i know there is no hold up for omaha, there have been new B41 installs sighted recently so things are progressing there.
  4. its in Ericsson markets, i don't know the exact specifics, but basically removing the old 1900 RRUs and replacing them with a new combined 1900 RRU.

    LG G3

has anyone had issues with the default LG keyboard and autocorrect? my brother has this phone and is having a terrible time with autocorrect screwing things up. He ended up switching to google's keyboard and said it was much better, but i was wondering if anyone else had issues with the LG one and knew of any settings to try or if anyone had any suggestions on another keyboard to try out? some examples of issues he had, typing "dad" would auto correct to "!!!" and if he miss-typed "doesn't" with an "f" on the front it wouldn't auto correct it to doesn't, it would just leave it as "foesn't" and then if he would spell doesn't correctly it would change it to "foesn't". we did try clearing out the saved words history but it didn't help. he also tried several levels of the auto correct but it didn't seem to help the issues he was having.
  6. it was a niche phone so it didn't get much developer support, it was able to be rooted right away, but they didn't get a custom recovery working until a few weeks ago. without that there wasn't much use for ROMS, i looked shortly after the recovery was done and there wasn't really any yet. which wasn't all bad since the phone works really well and doesn't really have any issues out of the box
  7. I hope it's not a flex 2..... I like the screen size of my flex and don't want to go smaller.....
  8. Right now on google play you can get the album for free jamming out to it right now! awesome songs from an awesome movie :D https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Btmdbtfzel2mdiai5ewdjd5nqui
  9. i ordered it for an upgrade phone for my dad on wednesday at that price. other than having to choose easy pay i didn't have any issues. phone is being delivered today.
  10. awesome thanks! that just confirms that they are having issues getting fiber along I-80 there and 4G will get filled in once this is done
  11. very interesting! can you share if the iowa locations are rural eastern iowa or I-80 between des moines and omaha? Looking at our maps for IA/NE those locations would make the most sense for microwave backhaul deployment. I-80 from des moines to IL is already all 4G accepted so they either already have fiber or microwave, but I-80 west of des moines is lacking on 4G for most of it. I-35 and the des moines/ames metros are all also 4G already so again they have fiber already. that leaves rural eastern iowa, which is not only still all 3G but is also mostly GMO sites..... which leads me to believe, in iowa at least, this is more for getting backhaul to get B25 going than it is for B41.....
  12. yep! my dad was needing an upgrade and we jumped on the HTC One M8 H/K deal for him. he is a cheapskate so we were looking at the sharp aquos, opted for this one since it will be a better phone for not a whole lot more
  13. hopefully we can expect some deals moving towards black friday and the holidays. I was just checking the sprint site and they have some easy pay deals on a couple of phones already. you can get the HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition for $0 down and $15/mo on easy pay, which brings the phone price to $360. They also have the Galaxy S4 for $0 down and $14.59/mo which would be $350.16 for the phone. so hopefully they continue deals like this
  14. just adding some more data to the phantom PCI's PCI 233 is one that i can see and track down regularly, total i've probably seen close 20 or more PCI that we don't have recorded as sprint PCI's in our market, most of those i see while i'm out driving and may not see them again. The 233 one i've been trying to track down since i see it repeatedly. Here is a shot of the best signal i've seen from it and here is a map of the area where i was when i took that the blue pins are sprint sites with confirmed and re-confirmed PCI's. The black dot is where i was when i took the screenshot. the green dot is an AT&T site, the red dot is a verizon/tmobile site, the north blue dot is a USCC/Tmobile site, and the south blue dot is USCC and maybe 1 other carrier that i'm not sure of, there are 2 racks there but i only found permits for USCC. out of the 3 sprint sites only the one at the VA hospital has another carrier on it, which is AT&T. I also see PCI 233 at my work which is probably 4ish miles (as the crow flies) straight north of where i am in the map screenshot. so that would rule out the 2 towers north of my position in that shot. i'm open to any ideas on where 233 PCI could be coming from.... -87db is a pretty strong signal and its not coming from any sprints sites in that picture.... even if i were to expand the view out some more to include the next closest sprint towers i've re-confirmed the PCI on all of those too.... i do have a work verizon S4 and a coworker has a Note 2 on USCC, unfortunately i can't find a way to view the PCI that doesn't require rooting
  15. thanks for the response! thats basically what i was looking for, confirmation that these should be valid signals/PCI that its showing. now to figure out where they are coming from not a big deal on the TAC thing for the neighbor cell notes, just made it hard tracking down these unknown PCI when i would connect to a tower on a different TAC then all the others around me and all the sudden i have 7 sites showing up on the neighbor cell list with no sites notes but they are all actual sprint towers just not showing the site note cause of the different TAC in conclusion, i would accept that they were sites many miles away that i'm seeing a fleeting signal from of a PCI we don't have if the DB it was showing was -120 or higher, however when i'm seeing a signal of -90dbm thats not a tower thats far away, and when i have confirmed and reconfirmed all the PCI on each band of every tower around me, i'm left with nothing else but to think these are non-sprint signals my phone is seeing.....
  16. i'll try and check that more, the only USCC sites i know about for sure are also sprint sites and from what i can tell the stronger my signal from a sprint site the less neighbor cells i see. Plus i'm not sure if all USCC sites around here would have B5 or not. there is a USCC site right out my window at work up the road about 1/4 of a mile and i'm definitely not seeing anything from that tower. 233 is the only unknown PCI i see while at work and it was strongest near the MLK tower. i believe there is a USCC tower on the broadlawns center thats a block over from the MLK tower though.
  17. did that! unfortunately it was a Note 2 and signal check won't show the PCI and i could not figure out for the life of me how to get to the engineering screen to try and see the PCI there
  18. Just to add, i checked a coworkers Nexus 5 and the 233 PCI is showing up on his phone too, so at least its not just mine
  19. i have a LG G Flex and it only supports B25, B26, and B41. Unless of course like gnoj said its seeing USCC B5 which is a subset of B26.
  20. lol trust me thats were i jumped to initially just trying to rule stuff out first..... but yes, assuming these are real signals, i don't believe they are coming from sprint sites.....
  21. yep did that completely cleared my log and DB and reloaded it with just the sites that are in my area that start with 07A (or 07B in the case of B41) i have no clearwire B41 around me so didn't need to worry about that.
  22. nope, i've been running my logging for the past 3 weeks now and i never actually connect to whatever tower, assuming it is an actual signal, it is coming from so there is nothing in the log for those PCI.
  23. here are some more to add to the list http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g442/bradmoses/signalcheck%20screens/Screenshot_2014-11-07-11-39-47.png 233 PCI i see pop up while i'm at work all the time, in this shot i was right next to the MLK tower and again, all towers around there that could give me a -90 signal i've confirmed the PCI for. http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g442/bradmoses/signalcheck%20screens/Screenshot_2014-11-07-11-40-12.png 233 again and also 300 is an unknown PCI, still near the MLK tower but a little further south than the first shot http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g442/bradmoses/signalcheck%20screens/Screenshot_2014-11-07-11-58-55.png was right next to the tower i am connected to in this shot, 38 is not a known PCI with all towers in the area having confirmed PCI
  24. while it could be i highly doubt it is, just for the simple fact that i've seen so many PCI that i don't have recorded there would be a ton of new sites around here.
  25. Mike - From your testing/coding of the neighboring cell feature, how confident are you that every signal/PCI that shows up in the neighbor cell list is an actual live signal and the PCI for it is accurate? the reason i'm asking is i have seen quite a few PCI show up in the neighbor cell list that don't match any PCI that we have recorded. I've spent the last 3 weeks driving around re-logging the PCI of the towers in my area to make sure they were accurate and hadn't changed since we first logged them. after doing this i'm still seeing PCI that don't exist in our spreadsheet. for example in this screenshot PCI 496 is not in our spreadsheet, and not only is it not in our spreadsheet but at the -99 signal its showing any tower that would be close enough to show that signal i've reconfirmed the PCI for. and its not just a one time thing either, i've seen that PCI show back up driving through the same area on a different day. just wanted to get your opinion to see if you thought this was some kind of fluke/bug where i'm seeing signals that don't exist, or if these are actual real signals coming from somewhere that my phone is actually seeing.... and if thats the case where are they coming from since i've confirmed all the sprint PCI.... also a side request for the neighbor cell feature, can you add an option to disable using the TAC to decide to show the site note? i only have my area in my DB so any PCI with a site note would be accurate to show.
