  1. so if the iphone 5s, iphone 6, LG G2, and LG G3 are all on the same PRL (51103), what does that mean for 1x800 on either phone? do the LG phones now have a low priority on 1x800? or do the iphones now have equal priority on 1x800?
  2. based on talk that was happening in the B26 thread in the premier section it sounds like its a network issue. There were posts from people in there that were saying they would be on perfectly good working B26 connections and then all of the sudden they were kicked down to 3G. i don't have any advice, just wanted to pass along that others have posted recently about the same issues. it could be market/vendor related, in my area, which is a samsung market, i do not have this issue and neither does anyone else i know on sprint.
  3. i know this phone hasn't been out very long, but was wondering if those who have it would recommend it for their less than tech savvy relatives? my dad (late 50's) is still using the original HTC EVO that he got when we switched to sprint back when it came out. i've convinced him to get a new phone but he doesn't want to spend a lot and doesn't need anything fancy/high end. just something that works good and has good reception for calls. i was thinking about either this phone, or getting a used LG G2. he is hesitant about a used phone though (i'm not) so is probably going to lean this way. thoughts from anyone on if this would be a good one to get for him?
  4. while they could deploy B25 LTE on any of the GMO sites that could support it, from what i heard they don't have any plans to do that unless something changes the last i heard sites won't get LTE until they are converted to full builds.
  5. thanks for the confirmation, i just didn't want to drive around trying to find these PCI i was seeing if they weren't really there
  6. when you sign up for twitter just so you can tweet sprints CEO about a tower
  7. so, just to confirm, with the neighbor cell feature, the phone is displaying the PCI from signals that it is actually seeing? i was sitting here watching my phone and writing down any PCI that popped up that didn't display a site note with it. So far i've seen two PCI numbers that we don't have recorded in our spreadsheets. just trying to determine if we have some bad PCI info out there or i'm picking up new signals or what might be going on with them
  8. thats what happens when service rocks, it gets quiet sprint plans to eventually deploy LTE to all towers. however most towers outside of the metro areas and along the interstates in iowa, are GMO towers, we know of no current plans to convert GMO towers to full builds which needs to happen before they get LTE.

    LG G3

whoops, too late he has ran it down to 2% twice now before charging back up. i don't know if that helped or if things have just finally settled in, but his stats from last night were much improved from where they were before. these stats are after running it down to 2% and charging it back up once, the charge from this 2% would be the 2nd cycle of that. had it not been for "lookout security" (which has now been disabled) the stats would have been even better. he is going to give it a couple of days and see how it goes now (have until the 26th to return in the 14 day window). Based on reports here and around the net that i've read as long as he can get close to 4 hours of on screen time he should be getting what he is supposed to out of a charge.

    LG G3

thanks! i didn't think the battery discharge thing was still needed so i told him not to worry about doing that based on your results it definitely sounds like his battery isn't holding up very well. we are still within the 14 days so we might see about getting the battery exchanged.

    LG G3

thanks for the reply! when you say a "full day" what would that mean in hours? 12-14? also whats torch mode? also i should have added, his screen is set to auto brightness at 70%. in the screenshot i posted he was still over 50% with almost 8 hours off the charger, so that doesn't sound too bad when talking about "a full day" but his screen on time seems really low for that much battery used. he said his usage so far today was 1 30 second video, couple of calls, texting, some facebook, and some internet browsing. i wouldn't call that heavy usage by any means.

    LG G3

My brother got a G3 earlier this week. So far he is loving it but the battery seems to not be lasting very long. Here is a screenshot of his battery stats he just sent me. Screen on time was 1 hour and 21 minutes when that was taken. Next highest usage was android at 20%. Does this seem bad to any of you that have this phone? If so any ideas on what he can do? Bad battery? Thanks!
  13. loving the new update so far, thanks! just had a quick question on the neighboring cells function, will it only show the site note for a listed PCI once it has actually connected to that site? That's how it appears to work, just wanted to confirm. thanks!
  14. i'm liking this 1x800 news! my wifes iphone 5 has connected to 1x800 before but it was at her work which is a giant concrete/brick building. even when it would see it as soon as it saw a hint of 1900 it was back on it, even though the signal was unusable. here's my theory based on my observations on my android phone, running the stock PRL for it, i will usually idle on 1900, sometimes on 1x800. however when i make or receive a phone call the network will put me on either 1x1900 or 1x800 during the call, when the call finishes i will either go back to idling on 1x1900 or 1x800. with the iphone its PRL forces it to idle on 1x1900, what if they changed something on the network side where the network is now choosing to put the iphone on 1x800 when making/receiving calls, then when the call is done the phone is staying on 1x800 until the next time the PRL is checked/scanned and it then puts it back on 1x1900..... just my guess based on observation either way thats good news if the iphone starts using 1x800 more!
  15. i had asked earlier in the thread as i was hoping it would be better on 1x800 for my wife's sake. In a response to another poster, AJ responded with this based on his response it sounds like because the iphone6 most likely doesn't use eCSFB and is constantly flipping back and forth polling for incoming calls it wouldn't handle switching between 1900 and 800 very well. and since 800 can't be installed everywhere, they had to use 1900.
  16. thank you, it wasn't obvious to me that it only listing/talking about the sprint LTE bands meant that was all it supported.
  17. can you help an apparent idiot out then, cause i read the LG G3 article on the wall before posting, and just reread it after your post, and the only LTE bands i see listed in the article are sprint's LTE bands.
  18. i have the original wilson sleek that i use at work, and even though its not supposed to, it does work with B26. because of this i decided to see if it works for B41 too, after my testing today it appears that it does not work with B41. I was connected to B41 with a -112 to -115 signal and no matter which way i put it in the cradle the DB did not change while on B41. i figured it wouldn't work but since it did with B26 and wasn't supposed to i figured i would give it a try just to be sure, and wanted to share my results in case anyone else was curious
  19. apologies if this has been asked/answered elsewhere, i looked at the wall articles and tried searching in the relevant threads but wasn't finding my answer. assuming either USCC becomes part of this or sprint buys them out, and USCC LTE becomes native coverage for sprint, would the LG G3 support USCC LTE band(s)?
  20. when you realize that the signal check pro screen has burned itself into your phones' LCD screen....... restarted my phone today and noticed it on the yellow sprint startup screen

    Flex 2?

nice! i love my flex and would totally consider a flex 2 as my next phone!
  22. while i don't have an iphone6, i do have a tri-band phone so i have access to all of the LTE bands. right now we only have B25 and B26 active in the metro, no B41 yet. if you were to get an iphone6, or any other tri-band phone, your LTE experience would be much improved. while speeds wouldn't necessarily be extremely faster your coverage would be much improved from just having B25. All those little spots you lose LTE and drop down to 3G now you would instead just switch over to B26. from my experience in some places B26 is only 5meg faster than B25 from the same tower, in other places B26 is 15+meg faster than B25. just depends on the tower and area, but as i said, its the expansion of coverage that will be the greatest benefit.
  23. just to make sure, if you get in on this promotion will the data amount stay "doubled" for as long as you have the plan? aka will the data allotment ever go down at some point? also, what is the fee for getting a yearly upgrade? i have a 9 line framily plan (all on one account under me) with 2 lines having the unlimited data option. the 2 unlimited lines average about 25-30 gig per month. i'm wondering if getting the now 60 gig plan would be a good option with still allowing the 2 unlimited lines enough data but also giving the other 7 lines more than 1 gig of data for less money.....
  24. Has anyone had any experience with the iPhone 6 and 1x800? Will it switch to 1x800 easier than previous models? I ask because my wife has an iPhone 5 and she works in a concrete building. With her 5 she doesn't get reliable signal on 1900 and so calls and texts won't go through. But there is just enough signal where it won't switch over to 1x800. I tested at her work with my phone on 1x800 and it worked just fine so if she could get 1x800 she wouldn't have any issues. So if she upgraded to a 6 would it work better on 1x800 than the 5 does? Thanks!
  25. considering 2 of the 4 ankeny towers are GMO it should actually be pretty good! as long as you aren't on the extreme north or west sides of town. B26 covers the 2 GMO sites for the most part, but if you do get dropped down to 3G speeds they are generally 1meg or better. i just drove through ankeny on my way back from a meeting, going down 1st st i got 1.8meg down on 3G from one GMO site and 27meg down on B25 from one of the other sites voice/texting shouldn't be any issue at all. you can check the (premier) link in my sig to see our maps for the area to see where the towers are and their status'.
