  1. My Note 3 has none of those issues. Very fluent and smooth. The only complaint I have is that the KK 4.4.2 update degraded GPS performance. Hopefully that is addressed in 4.4.4. Your friend should probably perform a factory reset to cure the lag. Most likely something he installed is causing the issues. I am however going to wait before I purchase a Note 4 to see what the general consensus is. Anyone know exactly what is updated with 4.4.4? Looked on the Sprint update site yesterday and no listing yet.
  2. No, my G2 is stock. No root.
  3. I think lemon laws vary from state to state. Anyway, it's probably up to the manufacturer to replace and not Sprint. I'd have to send it in a few more times with the same results (no GPS after the repair). Keep us posted on how your G2 turns out, especially a couple of weeks after the repair. Mine worked perfectly right after I received it back from LG (not including the new designer nicks they put in the trim), but then failed a little later. Gool luck with yours Ascertion!
  4. That's the exact same fix mine got when I sent it in for the GPS not working. I use the word 'fix" very loosely. My GPS failed again after the G2 was returned to me. Like you, I never had a touchscreen problem. I don't think I am going to bother sending it back again. All these shipping costs will add up to the $99 that I paid for that piece of junk.
  5. The marketers drilled it into their heads that this is something they need!
  6. A fellow chemist here at work who is also responsible for our IT just came over to me and showed me an MSN article on this same thing. It was quoted from Popular Science. Scarey stuff! http://money.msn.com/investing/post--mysterious-fake-cellphone-towers-found-across-us
  7. Swatara Township PA (Steelton Switch - Shentel) TAC: 32514 Band 26
  8. GPS performance on the Note 3 after the KK update just isn't the same. The Note 3 used to have an awesome GPS. They really degraded it with Kit Kat.
  9. Sorry, I was only kidding. I really don't know why you can't activate. Did you contact Sprint about the situation? Possibly one of the CSR's could help you out. It's worth a try!
  10. No I didn't send my G2 back again yet, I've been procrastinating. I have a Samsung Galaxy Mega that I'm currently using.
  11. I feel for you! I paid $17.XX to send mine back to TX. I have a UPS account - that's with my discount!
  12. I am experiencing this right now in Harrisburg PA (Shentel).
  13. Good luck with your repair Ascertion! Mine worked for about a week when it came back from LG repair, then stopped working again. I'm sending it back a second time for the same repair.
  14. Good Luck with yours. Hopefully yours will be treated more carefully than mine was. Getting ready to send mine back a second time since the first repair failed.
  15. Well, there you go! Google customer service vs LG customer service...

  17. You know, the more I think about this shoddy LG stuff, the more pissed I become. I am going to take your suggestion and request a return shipping label. It's just wrong to stick me as a customer with a faulty device. LG's quality control is abysmal! Never again...Now my device also is all scratched up from their first repair attempt. Jerks...
  18. I just started using this phone as my LG G2 has GPS issues which were repaired by LG and stopped working again. I must say I am really impressed with the Mega! Screen is beautiful, battery life outstanding and call quality is excellent. Did anyone notice that after the KK update, some of the fonts on the phone appear smaller? Is this my imagination? For instance, if I go into the 'Speedtest" app, the entire graphics of the app are smaller than on a phone with a smaller screen. I don't remember it being like this before the KK update.
  19. Robert, Thanks much for the explanation. My photo is horrible after I compressed it to fit here. It looks amazing in 13MP native format. I'm going to have to try and upload a better image. I did have some of the equipment on that tower explained to me in person, by a Shentel Field Engineer who I have been working closely with over the last few days. I must say I am AMAZED at how responsive and helpful Shentel is!!!!!! They defintiely want their network to be number one! I may have some good things to share with S4GRU shortly.
  20. I would appreciate that very much. I really love my Note 3. It's the best phone i've ever owned. I hope the Note 4 takes this to the next level.
  21. I'm kinda tweaked by the Nexus 6 as well. There's really nothing out that I like at the moment. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a very high contender on my list. They're saying September 3rd it will be unveiled. Great RF performance is definitely a prerequisite.
  22. Yesterday it was having trouble locking on. It took a little while. Today I went for a walk on my lunch hour, turned on MAPS and nothing. Checked it with GPS test and nothing. The problem didn't manifest itself just after a reboot. The G2 was on for a while. 800 LTE just lit up in Harrisburg, so I was checking things out. I don't blame you by sending yours back again and again, but it cost me $17 UPS to send mine to TX the first time. It'll probably cost me more than LG to do battle with them. I rebooted the phone several times and the GPS just went dead again. I give up. This phone has wasted way too much of my time resetting and restoring everything. I'll probably just trade it in. I don't want to sell it and stick someone else. The earpiece speaker started crackling again today as well. I thought that issue had been fixed with the litany of updates but.....
  23. The GPS in my G2 just stopped working again today. I don't think I am going to bother sending it back in again for repair. Time to get rid of this P.O.S.
