Sorry, I thought you were asking to see what LTE band you were on. Did your Nexus 5 successfully receive LTE in the same area?
-
Either use Mike's Signal Check app or go to the dialer and hit ##DEBUG# then go into LTE Engineering.

Google Nexus 6 by Motorola (Was "Nexus X talk leaked?")

When you pay full price for them, like I did on the last couple, Amazon at least matches Sprint who is less expensive than Bust Buy. -
As long as you have a usable B25 signal, the network will keep you there. When out of range of B25, you'll seamlessly switch to B26. It's awesome. How is the sound quality? (earpiece and speaker)...

This is a really nice device. I can't wait to see it in person. Looks like Motorola may make a big time come-back with the Nexus 6. Motorola phones used to be the go to device for the best RF performance. Hopefully this will follow through with the Nexus 6. -
I read somewhere that when you get that error, you have to delete your Google account then sign back in again. I've never had it happen, so I don't know if that cure works or not.

Here is a link to an app called SoundAbout in Google Play. Some individuals who are having issues with LG's (G3) crappy resistance based output jack detection programming say it puts a Band-Aid on the issue. I haven't had the chance to try it yet myself. Good Luck! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix

I agree with you. I do believe it's a software issue. The G3 would not mechanically connect to one device and not another unless there was some sort of EXTREME impedance mismatch. I tried connecting the G3 to a vacuum tube headphone amplifier that I have. That worked flawlessly. The G3 saw the tube amp as a line output. The G3 does tend to put out some RF noise or LCD noise though.

I just tried my G3. Like yours, it works great with headphones. When plugging in a portable speaker, it's hit or miss. Using the plug and unplug method can get it to work, but the speaker picks up "screen noise". I haven't tried AUX in my car, as I always use Bluetooth, but I suspect the same. Do these manufacturers even bother to alpha test this stuff? They had to know this problem existed before release. I would say that consumers are the new beta testers, but I really believe we are the alpha testers. You should be able to place a 3.5 mm plug into the jack on the G3 and whatever device you plug in should work - whether it be a speaker, AUX or headphones. We should not have to go to extremes buying special cables and wasting our time plugging and unplugging to get the damn thing to work! Manufacturers just want to get the stuff to market nowadays. They don't appear to care if the devices work properly or not. Hopefully a fix will come soon.

Since I've been reading this thread on N5 scan times, I had to try LTE scan time my LG G3. I wend deep under my porch in my basement. It was really hard to get the phone to drop back to 3G. The G3 held on to the B26 signal down to -122 dBm. I tried data at that level and it was flakey until I was back to about -118 dBm which then loaded web pages acceptably fast. When the phone fell back to 3G it was on 1xRTT - didn't get EV DO or eHRPD at all (I was in that dense of an underground area). I held it there for about a minute then moved the phone to a stronger signal area. The G3 literally reconnected to LTE B26 instantly. In fact when it was right at the threshold, using Mike's SCP app, I literally could see the connection fluttering between LTE and 1xRTT. Never saw any Sprint Tri Band phone trigger like that before. The G3 with its current radio and settings switches instantly. Flipped me out. I was able to repeat this test a few times with the exact same results - including the fluttering between 1xRTT and LTE B26 at threshold level. I am most impressed with the reception of the G3. I didn't want to jack this thread - just wanted to share my personal experience with the G3 scan time with all of you. Hope you found it very interesting as I did.

You guys are making me jealous. My girlfriend and I had a partial HD call this week. She called me twice and neither one of us could hear each other. We had to hang up - no voice whatsoever. She said her phone said HD in the display (Galaxy S4T) during the dead calls. I then called her back and she said OH MY GOD you sound awesome, the call then reverted back to SD at that point. Each time I place a call to her, my phone (LG G3) displays "Attempting HD", but it's never been successful yet. Hopefully Shentel will tweak this soon.

Here is a link to the CDMA frequency bands on the G3 It also shows which GSM bands are available. Sprint's version is unique though... http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=4489

I called LG when I was denied the battery because I purchased the G3 on ebay "New Sealed". They told me they had nothing to do with the promotion. I had to contact smsrebates.com. I sent them an email and never heard back. Totally blows!

If we have the crack we are supposed to contact LG for a replacement.

Anybody see these reports of the LG G3 cracking near the microphone hole? http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/lg-g3-owners-complain-of-cracking-issues
-
Well, I hope for the best for you! It may just take a little time. You think they would slide it to individuals who purchased new sealed G3's That way they promote good will and get a lot of free advertising. Oh well... What was the reason you were rejected the first time?
-
I heard back from LG on the free battery and charger promo. I was denied because I purchased the phone "new sealed box" on ebay. I guess it all depends on who reviews the entry material.
-
Got it. Thanks again.

My microphone will not stay. I checked the "Bottom Row keys" settings and there were only symbols. No microphone. When long pressing the cog, I am presented with microphone, but can't get it to replace the cog. Hmmmm...
-
A big thanks!
-
How did you get the microphone to replace the setting's cog? I did that on my G2, but can't remember what I did...
