    LG G3

My G3 hasn't crashed yet per se... I have had the smart card notification get stuck in a loading loop when I first turned on the phone and got to the homepage. I had to power cycle the phone to get it to stop.

I think the brightness is adequate, but when on 100% it sure does suck the battery down!

There has been some talk about the G3 screen not being as bright as some other phones in the same category. In fact some say the sunlight visibility is poor. I leave the lab and go for a 2 mile walk in our industrial park every day at lunch. Yesterday it was very sunny outside, and I had no difficulty at all viewing the G3 screen. Here is a link to a YouTube video that shows how much brighter the Sprint G3 is, as compared to the AT&T G3. Could this be a glue issue like the N5?
  4. Mine doesn't flash that message. I don't have any music on my G2 either. I stream everything.
  5. Very well written article. Thank you for including ERP/EIRP numbers. I give it a shrug as well. I want rural roaming frequencies included in my next device. Thanks for taking the time to write this article.
  6. Yes, I can attest to the Sprint Note 3 being a stellar performer. The B25 performance was amazing. Now the Verizon version on the other hand could not receive a signal if you put the phone in a paper bag. It was like being in a Faraday cage.
  7. I have a note 3. It's a great phone and very well built. The only problem..., once you've been living on band 26, going back to band 25 with its limitations takes getting used to again.
  8. I Agree. He doesn't know the difference between there & their either! I had to chuckle at his writing skills.

So I ended up getting 4 Hrs 28 Min S.O.T before battery went to zero charge. This to me is outstanding. I have the brightness cranked way up with YAAB. This also includes me playing with, and setting up the phone from last evening into today. I'm happy with this. We'll see how it goes over the next 4 to 5 discharge/recharge cycles.

I can't answer the B41 question as we don't have it here yet. My B26 performance and B25 performance are good. My girlfriend's S4T reads about 3 dBm higher than my G3 on B26. My Mega reads about 5 dBm higher on B26. According to nexgencpu, the RF performance is great on the G3. Maybe mine compared to Samsung devices being higher is just the way the Samsung phones report the numbers.

Around the Harrisburg area here, with just B25 and B26, I get about 3 -5 dBm lower than my Mega and my girlfriend's ST4 on B26.

I never had a Nexus 5, but do have a G2. This is my first day using the G3. Some observations are: So far I got 3 Hrs, 30 min S.O.T. with 20% battery left. This is including downloading all my apps and app setup along with initial phone setup. I use an app called YAAB (Highly Recommended) to auto adjust brightness - and I keep it cranked. No use having this beautiful high res screen if you can't see it in its glory. I expect battery life to get even better after a few discharge/charge cycles. A big plus is having a removable battery. The earpiece sound quality is just OK - nothing special. It's not as good as the G2 - BUT the G2 really was awful at first, then many updates from LG got it sounding really great. Sound through the microphone tends to be on the warm side. The loudspeaker is quite loud, but sound is tinny - not a dealbreaker though. The RF performance is about equal to the G2. Not as good as some Samsung products that I have used in all the same places. It's ok though. The G2 was abysmal at RF performance upon initial release, then LG tweaked it. The phone is very easy to use, feels good in the hand and comfortable against the ear. I'm sure through updates the G3 will get even better. If you are thinking of purchasing - do it. You won't be disappointed. I'm very critical and I like the G3 so far.
  13. Oh wow! I would like to see that device come to Sprint. I'd probably go for it. By what I have seen so far, it looks pretty sweet. I can't imagine Verizon letting it on their network. They like to have the upper hand all the time.
  14. Spoke too soon. The GPS stopped working today. It's going back again.
  15. Here is a link to an article that states that device (Nexus 6) will be available on Sprint. Take it for what it's worth.... These guys also tell false truths about Sprint taking away unlimited data. http://bgr.com/2014/08/25/nexus-6-nexus-x-price-and-release-date/

How long did it take from the time you submitted your information until LG sent you the approval email? I just now submitted my info. Thanks!

This gives me hope for my ebay purchase!
  18. Here is a link to an article that suggests Sprint insiders are rumoring that the unlimited data may have to eventually end. http://bgr.com/2014/03/11/unlimited-data-plan-death-coming-soon/
  19. ...as of today, it's still working.
  20. Just found this particular thread. Thanks for all the hard work you put in. A wealth of useful information.

You're right. What the heck. As soon as I receive the G3, I'll upload all the needed info to LG and see what happens. After my Lemon G2, they owe me one!
  22. I opened the app once and it fixed whatever problem was keeping my GPS from working. I also tried an app called "GPS Status Test and Fix - No Adds", which has a reset GPS button. We'll see how this goes over the next few days.

The promotion goes until October 6. I just purchased a G3 brand new sealed on ebay. Waiting to receive the g3 so that I may enter the IMEI/MEID-HEX and get this going. EDIT: The rules state the G3 has to be purchased from a carrier or authorized retailer. Looks like I'm out of luck.
