  1. Shentel, who has LTE on about 99% of sites in their footprint, recently stated they have 60% of data usage on LTE. They probably have one of the most complete networks of any market and should be pretty indicative of other markets once they are complete. Keep in mind, every month more and more people are upgrading to LTE handsets, including prepaid as well.
  2. Shentel is quick to fix problems. I noticed last week that one sector of the tower that I connect to at work wasn't broadcasting 800 in either voice or B26. The other 2 sectors were functioning normally. I was going to call but I noticed the next day it was back to normal. I have called in other issues and they are usually fixed in a day. I know in today's society, "tomorrow" usually isn't quick enough but I'm sure it won't be long until it's functioning again. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.0 2014 edition
  3. Market: Philadelphia Location: Ephrata (I-76/Rt 222) Tac: 3341 Band 25 Sent to me by my wife. She may send me a few more over the next couple days as she will be in the Philly and NJ areas. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.0 2014 edition
  4. Market: Shentel Location: Woodstock, VA TAC: 32523 LTE Band: 800MHz Band 26 As soon as my wife gets back in town, I can post the TAC for Band 25. My phone locks onto 26 and very rarely switches back to 25. Edit: When I just ended a phone call, my phone latched onto B25 for about 10 seconds before switching to B26. The TAC was the same on B25 as it was on B26. I was connected to the same tower both times I checked it.
  5. Yeah, that's what I meant. I like the push notifications. It's just my preference. I'm sure some people would be annoyed by them. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  6. I like the notifications on Tapatalk. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  7. Most likely congestion from all the pictures and video being sent out. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  8. Last night, I made a new topic in the Premier Sponsor section for discussion of B26 and B41 sightings and information specifically for the Shentel Market. The link included below will only work for Premier Sponsors. If you're a Premier Sponsor, head over to check it out. If you aren't, consider a donation to get to Premier level. The information on B26 and B41 is worth the donation. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/6216-shentel-market-b26b41-info/
  9. "Maggie has always been interested in gadgets and new technology... with the Nexus 4 she carries." Can you trust her as a writer when it says she's interested in new technology when she carries a Nexus 4 as her daily driver? Seems a bit odd to me, since a two year old device is hardly on the cutting edge.
  10. That's how it is here in the Shentel market. We have 2 LTE PCS carriers and 1 LTE 800 carrier now live through most of the market. All are 5x5, obviously. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  11. If you are getting service where you live, you don't need an airrave. You can just use cellular. Single radio devices (aka triband devices) such as yours, sometimes have trouble with the airrave anyway. The airrave is really only designed for people who have no service at their house or very weak service which causes them to consistently drop calls. As long as you can get voice service at your house, you can use wifi for data if need be.
  12. I had my first HD call in the Shentel market yesterday. I was in the sticks so I actually dropped the call after a minute or so but it was definitely HD. I then called my wife back a little later and it was a regular call. So I'm guessing it's starting to roll out in my area. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  13. I was just curious. I like the mifi so it can be used with my laptop or tablet. A USB stick doesn't work on the tablet. If all I had was a laptop though, I could see where it would be useful. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  14. I've not heard of anything like that from freedompop but I'm curious, why would you prefer that over a mifi? Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  15. This thread has been pretty dead. I thought I would revive it by saying my freedompop mifi 500 is still going strong. I use it a couple times per month with the rollover data and have plenty in reserve now. I think I currently have about 3.5 GB if I need it. The LTE/3G plan with 500MB per month, along with the rollover costs me only $8 per month. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  16. If you use the note feature in SCP, it will show the same note for all bands coming from that tower.
  17. The GCI will be the same between bands except for the last 2 characters if it's coming from the same tower. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  18. I guess I'll post this once again..... D.C. market has not yet launched. It's not on the Sprint maps yet and if it were launched, LTE would show on the Sprint map. Sprint, unlike other providers (Verizon) gives you access to LTE as the towers are upgraded instead of waiting to "launch" a market. When Verizon would "launch" a market, they would wait until most of their towers were upgraded, then "flip a switch" to light them all up at once. Until a market is officially launched with Sprint, they probably won't help much with putting in tickets for work on specific locations since it's not yet officially launched. It wouldn't hurt to try though.
  19. I have an S4t and the call I was on was unmistakable. You will know when it happens. My wife has the original S4 and I've never noticed it while talking with her in the Shentel area. I was in Allentown, PA when I received a call from another Sprint customer in the Allentown area when I noticed it. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  20. Has anyone experienced HD voice in the Shentel region yet? I just experienced it for the first time in the Philadelphia market and it's very noticeable. I'm certain I've never experienced it in Shentel's market. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.0 2014 edition
  21. I'm in Allentown visiting family and had my first HD calling experience. The clarity is really amazing. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.0 2014 edition
  22. I asked Amazon and they said it would not be a problem to do it. They said their system just isn't set up to keep old plans. Sent from my Galaxy Note 10.0 2014 edition
  23. I just added a line through Amazon. When I ordered it, it switched my lines from the Everything Data 1500 to the My Way plan. When I activated the phone today, I called back in to Sprint and they switched me back to the Everything Data 1500. I was told that you have 14 days to change it back. I just logged into my Sprint account and verified it is on the ED1500.
  24. Most people probably have no idea where New Tripoli is but when I was young, I fished at Leaser Lake quite often and I had friends who went to NW Lehigh HS. Glad the network is improving in your area. There's one tower which serves my parent's house in Allentown I'm waiting to get LTE. It's a new site and it's only 3G accepted so far. We'll see how long it takes. I'm spoiled living in Shentel territory.
