  1. Everything today seems to be fine. It would be nice to know what the issue was but I'm glad it's fixed. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  2. I doubt you will see a Sprint and/or Shentel over build any time soon but hopefully some day. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  3. Anybody else have any issues with voice connectivity today? I kept getting a fast busy signal today on both my phone (S4T) and my work phone (Sanyo Taho). After several tries, the call would normally go through but it was annoying. I called Sprint and they said they had no other reports of problems in the area but there obviously was something going on. This was happening mainly in the Woodstock area.
  4. http://www.droid-life.com/2014/04/10/verizon-att-and-sprint-kill-off-galaxy-s5-download-booster-feature/ Looks like the the big three didn't want the download booster as much as Samsung did.

    Wifi calling

I'll definitely post back after my vacation to let everyone know how well it works. I'm hoping for the best. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

    Wifi calling

I read that in order to use wifi calling, you need to have a CDMA signal. Does anyone know if a roaming signal satisfies that requirement? I seriously wish Sprint didn't require it. It would've been just as easy to limit the use to only US IP addresses. I'm going on vacation soon to Robbinsville, NC and Sprint has roaming there (I believe through Verizon) but the cabin I'm staying in has wifi. This is the reason I'm asking. 7. I figured it would come soon. I wonder if any other changes will come in the update? Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  8. That makes sense. Just curious, how do they get back haul to the COWs? Microwave? Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  9. I wish I could've stopped to ask but I was working and didn't have a whole lot of time. It was also right around 5pm so I'm sure they were in a rush to get out of there.
  10. I'm thinking it may be a COW but I've never seen one in person. Maybe someone can chime in with an answer. Also, in the first pic, there is the smallest antenna I've ever seen on top of the Shentel building. I'm guessing they didn't want a huge antenna in historic "downtown" Edinburg. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d2gxak3bekdpo0d/2014-04-08%2016.54.13.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvrdxijwgjgc47i/2014-04-08%2017.13.50.jpg Also, the "Sprint" truck in the picture is actually a Shentel truck. That's what they use for their wireless technicians to drive around in. I referenced it in another thread a while back. I see them every day around here.
  11. I just went by Shentel's headquarters in Edinburg and saw a sprint truck pulling a trailer with some sort of small tower structure on it and an Alcatel-Lucent truck and van parked with it. I snapped a picture. I'll try to post it up later when I get home. Hopefully that's a good sign of activity coming. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  12. Martinsburg is Shentel territory. There's been LTE there for over a year now. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  13. I spoke with a Shentel wireless technician not terribly long ago who said the equipment was starting to come in for the band 26 and 41 upgrades. My guess is they will start in the more populated areas first but it's hard to say. I would love to have band 26 here due to living in a rural area. Band 41 would just be a bonus.
  14. Correct, I have the app but I don't pay the $2 a month or whatever it is to have my voicemails transcribed to text.
  15. I saw that except I don't subscribe to visual voicemail so that's what confused me about the msg. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  16. I got this text msg from Sprint today: "SprintFreeMsg: Your Visual Voicemail account is being upgraded. After 04/02, please call in to voicemail to record your new greeting and reset your passcode." Anybody know why this is happening? Is it due to some sort of upgrade to the voicemail system?
  17. I am in Shentel territory and have very good LTE coverage here. I haven't tried changing it to cdma only mode but I may try that at some point to see what happens. Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk
  18. I live in a 1x800 area and I've noticed now that when I make or receive a phone call, it seems to be random whether it uses 800 or 1900. I know with my S3, it would scan 1900 first, then switch to 800 if the signal was weak. I live a few blocks from a tower so I would expect it would just use 1900 but even here it uses either seemingly random. Does anyone know why the S4t does this? It's obviously not a problem, I'm just curious. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  19. I just got a deal on a Galaxy S4t (tri-band). Hopefully I can now do some band 26 and 41 hunting once they start work on them in the southern area of the market. My new phone comes in tomorrow. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  20. I just bought a brand new S4t on Ebay. Hopefully it'll arrive before the end of the week. Brand new, in a sealed box for under $400. :-) Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
  21. You don't have a location listed so I'll just say that Strasburg is a decent sized town for this area. It has about 6,000 residents and it's the largest town (by population) in Shentel's home county (Shenandoah). So, with that said, those are my arguments. I know other cities would be more likely, such as Harrisburg, Harrisonburg, Winchester, Martinsburg, etc, but we'll see what happens. You are probably right but dreams sometimes do come true, right?
  22. I saw a crane located next to a shentel sprint site in Strasburg, VA today. It was around 6pm so nobody was around but it makes me wonder what was going up. This is a sprint site and one other provider but I'm not exactly sure who. It's also on a water tower so it's possible it has nothing to do with cell phone equipment at all. I'm hoping it may be some band 41 activity but I guess we'll see at some point later on.
  23. I am going back to school to get a masters degree and the school I'm going to uses Microsoft Exchange email. I successfully set it up on my Galaxy S3 but when I set it up on my Note 8.0, the email program crashes every time. Does anybody know if there's an issue with Exchange and the Note's email app?
  24. All of Shentel's wireless technicians drive Sprint logo'd pickup trucks. I usually see them about every day around here. This is the only area I've ever seen them though.
