  1. @elkaku If you've ever gone to Cidra you'll know what I'm talking about!
  2. I guess for now customers in PR will need to reply on the improved coverage offered by the antenna mounted RRUs for a while. I was wondering if PR would benefit from Sprint SMR because my girlfriends grandma lives in the boonies in PR and whenever I go visit I can only get a little bit of signal if I go outside. So SMR would be an enormous boost in coverage around those parts.
  3. Well I started doing some research on this right now and I found this document from the FCC that outlines a plan to do a little bit of rebanding in the 800Mhz spectrum in PR. As much knowledge as you have on the matter I can imagine you have seen this document already. Do you think this document may shed some light on whether it will be the clearance Sprint needs to be able to use SMR spectrum in PR? http://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-11-315A1.pdf
  4. The first post is referring to LTE 800 specifically, so is there a chance that they will be rolling out CDMA 800 later this year or are they just unable to use their SMR spectrum in PR at all?
  5. Ahh that makes sense. I just thought that at this point they could afford to just circumvent the maintenance upgrades to the legacy equipment since they will be all but gone within the next 12 months.
  6. So seeing as how Sprint is aiming to have Network Vision mostly completed by the end of this year as well as the apparent inclusion of LTE upgrades to Network.sprint.com, do you think they are focusing on doing strictly NV upgrades or are there still band-aid fixes taking place?
  7. Imagine how far the signal would travel from 1 tower when they deploy LTE 800
  8. Ahh chamb, I should have known! Awesome job man. I can tell that a lot of time and gas has been invested in mapping all that haha. What kind of speeds are you seeing on 3G down there?
  9. LTE has been turned on in Dillsburg, PA just saw it on Sensorly. BTW whoever is mapping LTE just east of Chambersburg, PA deserves a reward. They're doing an awesome job!
  10. Definitely not in all of PR, but you will have LTE everywhere you currently get 3G.
  11. http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/08/t-mobile-claims-to-be-first-us-carrier-with-hd-voice-calling-nat/ Looks like T-Mobile beat Sprint to the punch with HD Voice. Now Sprint's advantage at this point would be their much greater coverage in providing their HD Voice.
  12. I could sure go for a Strawberry Frosty Shake right about now.
  13. There also used to be a pretty noticeable "hissing" sound when you used to use beats audio that appears to be improved a lot.
  14. If you are on your phone app you will have to zoom in before it shows up. Its on Baltimore Pike just south of the Penn State Brandywine campus.
  15. Well the wait just got shorter! Just went on Sensorly and saw the first patch of LTE for the Philadelphia market!
  16. You cannot map with Sensorly on the iPhone 5.
  17. I don't know my MSL, but under view mode it just says EVRC.
  18. So it all comes down to Sprint rolling out an update to the EVO to enable it? Could it be possible that it already has the capability enabled? I have never talked on the phone to someone with another EVO LTE so I can't try it.
  19. I thought that HD Voice was only going to be usable on CDMA 1x Advanced so wouldn't that have to be deployed in order for me to use it?
  20. Hey Robert, Do you have any idea on when Sprint will begin rolling out HD Voice? I know earlier this year they expected to have it launched in some areas by the end of this year but things have obviously gotten pushed back.
  21. So my launcher has been running really slow and choppy every now and then on my EVO lately. Mine has done it about 3 times in the past week or so and the only remedy is to reboot my phone. Maybe its an app that I have installed recently or just could it just be a bug in Sense? Has anybody seen anything like this on their device after updating to JB?
  22. If you're paying for the service then you are choosing to accept the speeds that you are receiving. Back to the point of this thread. Its pretty amazing how much of the Bronx is shown covered in Sensorly despite there being only about 2 dozen LTE sites there. I can't wait to see what the map will look like once full launched.
  23. Of couse they know what's going on, but you calling and complaining about not receiving a service that they haven't launched in your city makes absolutely no sense. Behavior like this is exactly why carriers choose to block the signal until an entire market is ready.
  24. And when you consider that NYC has been deploying at a pretty slow rate so far, with about 10-15 updates per week on the NV Sites Complete thread. But it has been picking up in speed lately so NYC deployment should start speeding up now.
