  1. Review embargo has been lifted. See link below for full review list https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/3pbr2o/with_the_nexus_6p5x_embargo_about_to_be_lifted/
  2. Really though Arysyn, I think the only issue here is that your posts are overly longwinded and therefore come across as 'argument by avalanche' rather than a discussion. So when someone doesn't reply to your whole post it is mostly because they didn't want the full Anandtech-esque article (long) version of your thoughts on the subject. It is hard to take a discussion seriously when someone continually posts about 5-10 subjects in one mini-novella and then repeats himself at the end. I think many of the replies to you have been pretty fair but no one wants to take the time to write a full dissertation that addresses all your points/non points to your satisfaction I don't mean this as a personal attack at all but you remind me of my roommate in college who used to take adderall and just slam out pages and pages of material for his psychology (kinda ironic) courses. 3. Alright guys. I have hit rock bottom. I spent 30 minutes last night sewing extensions into my jeans pocket to make room for this phone. In case you are wondering, my mom taught me how to sew with her sewing machine when I was younger. Not perfect but I am pretty happy how it came out. My pockets were always too short anyways since I keep my wallet in my front left pocket rather than a back pocket. Similar to http://bethsco.com/2013/05/making-pants-pockets-longer-the-easy-way.html in method. The fabric is hard to tell but it is basically some of that soft eyeglass wipe style fabric which is durable enough but also should be plenty soft Edit: if anyone else wants to do something like this your local tailor or even drycleaners can do it for like $15 a pocket at most. I just had the fabric and easy access to a sewing machine (at $15 it isn't worth it to hand stitch)
  4. Supposedly qualcomm says that feature is nixed in current software for a double tap power to activate the camera. Not sure about any of the other Moto features.
  5. I am so into the hype train that I am the guy shoveling coal into the engine to get it down the tracks faster.
  6. You can only change shipping by cancelling the order.
  7. I bet you live closer to the shipping depot than I do and most likely yours will go pending later today. I noticed that it was a rolling change to people with the same shipping dates on XDA.
  8. My order that is due to me Nov. 4-6 just went pending... not that it seems to mean much. I hope it ships a week or 2 early like my nexus 5 did.
  9. My only side comment here about Direct2U is that I didn't "get" Amazon Now until my wife was out of town. I ordered diapers and some snacks. The cost was almost identical to my local store (some higher some lower) and I never had to leave the house or wake the baby up. Pretty awesome to be honest. The only issue Sprint has is that when I ordered my wife's iPhone 6s I didn't even think about Direct2u and waited for the mail to arrive. If I had though more about it/been more aware of it I would have considered Direct2U for sure.
  10. (go to 2:52 if the link doesn't take you directly there) Looks like the Nexus 6P will get double twist to open camera like the Moto X does.
  11. As you should be. http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2015/10/marshmallow-and-smore.html If you look at the list you will see that the 2014 Moto x is not on there. Also missing is the 2014 AND 2015 Moto E Now I am pretty sure the Pure will be better supported but I would be a rich man if I won every bet I was pretty sure of.. and I am not a rich man.
  12. I still can't believe they put a 5400rpm driver in the latest and greatest 4k fancypants iMac. Just make it $100 more and throw in the Fusion drive (which is also nerfed from previous gens as it proves only 24GB? of flash storage down from 128 GB). Even my parents who were considering replacing their older iMac were pretty annoyed at this.

  14. I am a sucker for a new version of Android. Just got the OTA and waiting on my phone to finish optimizing apps. It should be really obvious if I have reception changes or anything from it. edit: So far so good. I actually connect to b41 in my workplace now rather than going to the slow band 26. 15 down is great for me here.
  15. my guess is reviews will be out tomorrow
  16. reports on reddit that people are now showing pending on 6P orders https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6P/comments/3ofgii/my_6p_preorder_has_changed_to_pending_on_my_order/ Mine remains at pre-order.
  17. Well, I am not an actual engineer but you could do one antenna on each corner on a large phone but then you have to find room for wifi/bluetooth. My guess is that they did this and then paired the top and bottom antennas since they can now can support a bunch of bands on each pair. This might provide decent isolation but I wonder how it does with low band stuff since you can't really do the half a wavelength separation rule of thumb there due to size of the phones. I have seen 4x4 in smaller tablet sized applications in the field though but these are on higher frequencies than LTE.
  18. The issue really is that simple is in direct disagreement with agile. So, you can have a simple $60 unlimited and simple family plans but that means that you are no longer as agile as before unless you change all the existing plans as well. See: T-Mobile. They started out with uncarrier making big changes but now they are caught in a confusing maze of 3 different "jump" programs and all kinds of different plan levels that exist. Similarly Sprint started out with family share super simple but now they have both iphone for life and iphone forever as well as the cut your bill in half and double data promotions so one person may have 4 lines on a 20GB plan @100 and the guy next to him is on like 28 GB (2 GB per line promo) or 40GB for double data or lower cost from the bill cutting promo. How Sprint employees keep track of all of this is mindboggling. Between these plans and existing legacy plans they must constantly be seeing all kinds of plans with different exclusions and costs. That is the price of being agile and able to respond to the market.
  19. I view activation fees the same way I view installation fees for wired internet services. Where I live all the internet providers have eliminated them (installation fees) over the last few years because it can be an impediment for acquiring new customers. To me activating a customer's phone is simply the cost of doing business. The employees are already being paid in the stores and from my point of view it is just using that already sunk cost that all carriers have. Why does Sprint charge iPhone Forever lease holders an activation fee when the whole ordering and swapping process is done without any Sprint employee interaction (aside from the shipping and receiving)? It isn't about "boo hoo $36 means no food for a week" or anything like that. The objection is that at this point it feels more like a tax on the customer rather than a real service provided especially becase in the case of iphone backups and the like means transfering customer data is a fairly simple and fast process. The fact that phones bought from the Google store don't require activation fees further illustrates this. I just think activation fees are increasingly more about pulling more $ from the customer than about the cost of an actual service being performed. Yes I am aware AT&T and Verizon also charge activation but I view T-Mobile like I view my local cable company (Grande Communications) which started the trend toward no installation fees.
  20. I wonder why the analysts predict ARPU to continue to fall. My expectation is that many people will be off the no "line charges" promotion (myself included) which should boost ARPU substantially. These latest iPhone Forever promos are great for encouraging people to not leave Sprint when that bill increase happens. On that note: RIP Sprint phone center employees when the first bills with line charges are sent to customers. On top of all the above, the unlimited plan increase will also raise ARPU.
  21. No problem. I am pretty patient and there are 2 repair centers within 5 miles from me and a Best Buy across the street from one. When my 6P arrives I will try the repair center and then just head over to Best Buy if that doesn't work. Thanks for the repost of the Best Buy receipt.
  22. so do we just walk into a Sprint store and ask for one of these/do we pay for the sim card? I honestly don't even remember what I did for my nexus 5. I think we just tried like 3 different options until one worked.
  23. Yeah I agree! I think the highest I have ever heard was 28% for Chase Bank employees.
