  1. I actually think my usage is fairly normal. I'm not trying to run autocad on my phone or something. While at work I use my desktop and on the road I use a laptop. However, my phone comes into play for the inbetween times where I am in someone's office and want to look at a PDF of a part footprint. Mostly though my phone is used for the normal Netflix/Youtube/Twitch/Reddit/Chrome apps and I notice slowdowns doing these routine, to me, things occasionally. Either way I think this should be resolved with my ordering a 6P which, as a phablet, is beefier in specs and also a larger screen for easier viewing of some of these things.
  2. Apple effect. Apple uses Type C on the Macbook now.
  3. Crosspost from the 6P thread: Few options for cables if anyone is looking: 3.3 ft (1 meter) $12.99 from Google https://store.google.com/product/usb_type_c_to_usb_standard_a_plug_cable $9.99 from Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10303&cs_id=1030319&p_id=13009&seq=1&format=2 6 ft $19.99 from Belkin http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CU032/ Adapter: $8.99 from Monoprice http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=103&cp_id=10330&cs_id=1033001&p_id=13507&seq=1&format=2 Anyways, big fan of Monoprice here. I will probably pick up a spare 3.3ft one and maybe an adapter. I don't trust random Amazon sellers to provide quality cables.

  5. Different use cases. Opening large documents (usually PDFs) definitely spike my ram usage. Even without having that open my current RAM stats look like this: Right now I am at 1.7GB usage during a normal workday.
  6. Yeah, the reality is that it isn't that the Nexus 5x is overpriced but that the 6P is so incredibly priced especially when you compare 32 GB Nexus 5x to 32 GB Nexus 6P. With only a $70 difference the specs you get on the 6P are incredible.
  7. I heard clear cases get cloudy over time but I have never used one. Do you have good experiences with clear cases?
  8. For everyone that pre ordered: What are your case plans/are you planning to not buy one/are you waiting for better options to come out?
  9. Welcome to Sprint. You'll find most of us just believe in people choosing the best carrier for where they live that gives them the most value. For some people that will be T-Mobile or the other carriers but increasingly the best value and speed option will be Sprint going forward.
  10. He is referring to Sprint having a $10 "premium data" surcharge at the time that people got really upset about if they weren't in a Wimax market.
  11. You are going to love it. I went from Evo to Evo 3D to Nexus 5 and now Nexus 6P. Just even the ability to edit the animation speed is awesome and I love not having a skin on top of Android and just doing what I want. The only drawback on my N5 was mediocre battery life and a poor stock camera app both of which look to be resolved in the new phones.
  12. I also wonder if the www.getHuawei.com stock is separate or common stock with the Google Store. If it is common then that may be an easy way that they went out of stock and then suddenly everything was back in stock for all sizes.
  13. People in 2xCA markets: Post your speedtest results so we can bask in the glory
  14. http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/29/the-nexus-5x-does-have-a-true-rgb-notification-led-just-like-the-6p-but-its-missing-from-the-spec-list/ 5X DOES HAVE A NOTIFICATION LED
  15. That is correct. The 6P clearly lists an LED https://store.google.com/product/nexus_6p under full specifications -> "Other" where the 5x does not https://store.google.com/product/nexus_5x You will see it also correctly says the 5x has a single speaker to the dual speakers of the 6P Edit: IT DOES HAVE A NOTIFICATION LED http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/09/29/the-nexus-5x-does-have-a-true-rgb-notification-led-just-like-the-6p-but-its-missing-from-the-spec-list/
  16. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/5806-lg-google-nexus-5-users-thread/?p=261894 LG G2: RF ERP/EIRP maximum: 19.80 dBm (CDMA1X/EV-DO 850), 21.64 dBm (CDMA1X/EV-DO 1900), 23.09-27.08 dBm (LTE 1900), 17.77-21.29 dBm (TD-LTE 2600)SGS4T: (under SAR evaluation report) RF ERP/EIRP maximum: (CDMA BC10) 24.97 dBm, (CL 850 CDMA/EVDO) 24.89 dBm, (PCS CDMA/EVDO) 24.70 dBm , (B25 LTE 1900) 23.00 dBm , (B26 LTE 800) 24.32 dBm , (B41 LTE 2500) LTE 24.35 dBm. Nexus 5 : (SAR Evaluation report) RF ERP/EIRP maximum: (CL 850 CDMA BC0 1xRTT/EVDO) 24.5 dBm, (PCS BC1 CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO) 24.6 dBm, (eSMR 800 CDMA BC10) 24.5 dBm, (LTE Band 25 PCS) 23.5 dBm, (LTE Band 26 eSMR) 23.7 dBm, (LTE TDD Band 41) 21.5 dBm
  17. Both will work great. Higher B25 and B26 performance means the 5x might pick up building penetrating LTE (850 mhz and 1900 mhz) better but the higher B41 performance of the 6P means it might hold on to the big daddy bandwidth B41 signal longer.
  18. Just a bump for any Google Fi users: Google is offering installment payments for the newly released Nexus phones. https://fi.google.com/about/faq/#supported-devices-2 Device Buy today + applicable taxes Pay over 24 months + applicable taxes Nexus 5X - 16GB $379 $15.79/month for 24 months Nexus 5X - 32GB $429 $17.88/month for 24 months Nexus 6P - 32 GB $499 $20.79/month for 24 months Nexus 6P - 64 GB $549 $22.88/month for 24 months Nexus 6P - 128 GB $649 $27.04/month for 24 months
  19. As an update for anyone that missed it: The 5x does not have dual speakers. One is for the microphones. It also does not have a notification LED if that is important to you.
  20. Nexus 6P has an AMOLED screen that could use active display for notifications while not using much battery but has a notification LED while the Nexus 5X has an HD LCD screen but doesn't have a notification LED and requires you to turn the screen on. Not sure what Google was thinking there..
  21. This is a hold to make sure you have funds for it. It goes away after 2-3 days. Edit: you posted in between when I started replying. But yeah, this happened when I bought my n5 2013 as well.
  22. Yep my Nexus 5 also shipped a week or two early. My friend had the same experience with his Nexus 6 last year.
  23. Well I had to choose and so I went for the 6P over the 5x. I'll be joining the ranks of huge phone users I guess
