  1. Still a day to go before I get my Nexus 6P and I have to read about everyone else getting theirs.
  2. Yep, they are all waiting on that sweet sweet tax holiday.
  3. Well, focused on not paying their share of taxes to bring the money into the US at least.
  4. To further put that $205 BILLION in cash that Apple now has in perspective: That is larger than the MARKET CAP for piddling companies like Coca-Cola, Bank of America, Oracle, Walmart, Disney, Chevron
  5. Same here. I also have a weird bug where Marshmallow is incorrectly showing battery life percentages like showing Textra taking up 20% of my battery life (it definitely isn't) while screen takes up 1% (definitely taking more) Oddly, a reboot corrects this. I suppose I will see how my Nexus 6P fares with Marshmallow but my overall experience with it on my Nexus 5 has been about an B+. Pros: -Doze, when activated, is great -Might just be my imagination but animations seem smoother -Now on Tap is neat/gimmicky -Voice search seems to be quicker and more responsive. -Scrolling app drawer is an improvement IMO -Memory/Ram management menu is a welcome change but I am not sure I have actually learned anything useful from it other than that Android OS/System UI/Android System/Google Play usually top the list every time I look. -Text selection is much better now and I don't have to fiddle with text highlights nearly as much as I did before Cons: -My overall battery life doesn't seem to have improved much at all. I'd say my standby time has improved slightly thanks to Doze but Screen on Time has maybe gone down slightly. -Like others my phone seems to want to flop to 3g more. When I enter my neighborhood there is a elevation dip where I used to switch from B41 to b26 and now I get put on 3g and it holds it. Not a huge annoyance but noticeable. -Pull down twice to get the menu/use two finger swipe to pulldown. Why? -Easter egg isn't really new (sorta kidding sorta not) -Wifi issue: My phone now refuses to connect to one of my work's wifi networks (see the bug tracker here) https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=188867&q=wifi&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars Google blames the access points but unless you are in a position to influence IT infrastructure good luck getting that resolved before you buy your NEXT phone. -Can't connect to Camera bug still exists and still requires a reboot to fix. -Weird battery reporting like mentioned above
  6. I just got my ship notice. I should have the phone Thursday!
  7. Easy answer. T-Mobile missed estimates and despite having a good quarter was lower on revenue and profit (than expected) as well as falling ARPU. Basically they reported about 15? cents a share net income when analysts were expecting 30 cents a share. Revenue was up @ $7.8 billion but missed expectations of $8.29 billion.
  8. Processed and not shipped here as well. BUT the original confirmation did say Processing (1-2 business days) + Delivery (3-5 business days): so I am not too upset about it really.
  9. Just went processing and credit card has been charged!
  10. Not me certainly! I only took the Speedtest because my connection seemed so fast and then did a Speedtest with my wife's phone to see how good her B41 performance was so her result was a real surprise
  11. Vacationing in port Aransas, TX and I think I saw 2xCA b41. Phones side by side: Iphone 6s (can get 2x CA) http://i.imgur.com/DL7b7sW.jpg My Nexus 5 (can't get 2xCA) http://i.imgur.com/lULHkdu.jpg
  12. FYI for anyone still needing cables: Monoprice has free shipping and 10% off sitewide with the following promo code. TREAT10 My type C cables came in a few days ago and they are really great quality. If I remember to I'll even test them at work.
  13. My 32 GB graphite hasn't even charged yet. I guess I am in the second wave
  14. Regarding the rattle issue.. Check if it is the power button. The first wave of Nexus 5 had tons of these and many people ended up getting replacements. If that is the issue many people also said it was resolved when they put a case on their phone as it stopped the power button from moving around.
  15. No one replied but in the reviews it was a small card in the box that had headphone icons on it . See: Also as a bonus for this promotion: http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2015/10/red.html "YouTube Music is designed to make discovering, watching and listening to music easier than ever. Any song or artist you choose on YouTube Music will start you on a personal journey through one of the richest music catalogs; just sign in, tap a track you love, and see where your music takes you. And as a special bonus - YouTube Red works with Google Play Music, so subscribe to one and automatically get access to the other." Basically you also get 90 days of ad-free youtube as well, nice!
  16. Let me know how you like those cables. I ordered 2 cables from Monoprice but I might want 2 or 3 more and have been considering those cables because they are quite cool.
  17. For new users: What accessories did you buy for your new phones? Cables/cases/adapters/chargers
  18. Weird thing I just noticed: My order is still "pending" but my order number changed from green to gray. Meaningless I am sure.
  19. Wifi speeds are better than my N5 and seems to hold 802.11AC really well and her bluetooth is bluetooth. Not sure how to quantify bluetooth other than it works.
  20. As an aside, my wife's 6s is a seriously impressive device in terms of RF. It picks up all Sprint bands better than my current Nexus 5 and seems to hold b41 for longer. Her standby time is flat out incredible. Like .5-1% an hour battery drain. She forgot to charge her phone on Sunday and made it home from work on Monday with 22% left. I personally don't care for iOS from a user standpoint but her phone is almost shockingly good. I just hope my 6P will be nearly as good. As far as RF performance, see http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-399-updated-how-p-for-powerful-is-the-nexus-6p-rf/ and in the comments there is a m8 vs 6P rf comparison to give you an idea where you might expect to end up.
  21. Liveblog from the video - Snapdragon 617 processor - "uh oh protection" Free replacement of phones - 3 GB ram, 32 GB internal storage, MicroSD slot is available. - 5 inch AMOLED panel - 24-bit, 192KHz DAC - Does have carrier Aggregation - 13 MP camera (WITH OIS) - More gimmicky video/picture features "Hyperlapse" - Supports RAW video capture - Comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow - Fingerprint Scanner $399.99 Direct from HTC, Unlocked. Available to lease via Sprint. More detailed specs when they have their retarded twitter Q&A but I am not about to wade through a bunch of 140 character bullshit to find out more specs. Edit: I'm not sure about the value here over say a Moto X other than if someone wants a smaller phone. Even the 5x seems competitive at this price. Mid range price is really full of options these days Edit2: spex sheet
  22. I think the respective subreddits for these phones are pretty informative. for the 6s I would try https://www.reddit.com/r/apple or https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone For the Motox https://www.reddit.com/r/motox or https://www.reddit.com/r/android For the 6P https://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus6p or https://www.reddit.com/r/android I find them to be decent areas to get battery impressions and or see complaints or common questions that come up. My wife went with a 6s and I am going with a 6P. The comparison between the two (6s and 6P) is easier since they don't have real differentiation like the Moto X does with Moto Maker/SD Storage. Although there is still quite a price difference between the 6s and 6P..
  23. Spigen has two cases. I've been SUPER happy with the many Spigen cases I have used over the years http://www.spigen.com/collections/nexus-5x
  24. https://play.google.com/store/account it shows my ship date being the 29th.
