  1. The Reston site also did not show up in the past update. So it hasn't been accepted by Sprint. It may have been testing by the OEM, or part of a building DAS system. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk

  3. The Spring Hill site is definitely the first one inspected in the Tampa market. I had a heads up from a source two days before it showed up on Sensorly. I marked it as "In Progress" in the database, but didn't get around to updating the map. That source says it was the only one where Ericsson was ready for inspection in the Tampa market to date. More may go live this week and more acceptance inspections called for, but it was likely that no other sites were live in the Tampa market last week. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk
  4. If there are no high speed internet options in the area, they will use microwave to bridge to a place where they can get it. Robert via Nexus 7 on Tapatalk

  8. Yeah, definitely stop reporting on Sensorly until you figure out the problem. Robert
  9. I have never had this problem. In my Wichita Falls and Waco mapping it only shows LTE signals. In Waco, I always had full bars of 1x signal because it is a CDMA 800 market, and yet it clearly shows all over that market the LTE signal strength very clearly and separate from my 1x. It is also clear to me looking at my Wichita Falls mapping that it shows LTE signal strength very well, also. There are four sites that have not received LTE around the city, where I encounter very strong 1x signals and very weak LTE signals, and these are all shown as weak LTE signals. I did once receive a PM from a member in Puerto Rico who has a Galaxy Nexus that he had a custom MOD on and he said all his Sensorly reporting around the San Juan area was coming in at full strength, no matter what his 1x and LTE signals actually were. Are you using a custom MOD? If not, then perhaps you are mistaken? I guarantee you that Sensorly IS NOT harvesting 1x data as LTE signal data. However, your device may be mistakenly providing that. 10. There is a new update? Uh oh. I love my PRL Write function. I don't want to give that up. I guess I will have to let that update pass me by. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk

  14. Sprint only allows 3G and 4G unlimited usage to be for smartphone use only. This is not new. 3G and 4G usage is the same to Sprint. Tethered/hotspot usage requires an add on to your plan with certain tiers of usage for a corresponding monthly fee. People who bypass the paid features of these plans by jailbreaking or rooting their devices are in violation of Sprint TOS. Any purchase of a new 4G card or hotspot will require you to purchase a data plan, which comes with data caps. There are no unlimited card or hotspot plans. Sprint only offers unlimited data for smartphones. Robert

  16. Sprint speeds are faster because they use 5MHz channels. If memory serves, MetroPCS is using 3MHz and 1.4MHz LTE channels. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  17. Sprint doesn't promise any speed. They advertise 6-8 Mbps. They advertise that, not because of loads, but because LTE performance is signal strength dependent. The peak speeds are people with a strong signal. If you built a heat map of signal strength, most customers would have 6-8Mbps or greater. Some will have less, but they would be in building that hinders RF or at the edge of service. I have a VZW LTE hotspot. My speeds have been dropping dramatically. My peak daytime speeds most days are now 4-6Mbps. So there is no guarantee of future performance if even VZW gets bogged down. But Sprint has half the customers of VZW, is building a denser network, and has more options to add more carriers for capacity than VZW has. All in all, I feel good that Sprint will be able to keep their LTE speeds up for a long time. Especially now with Softbank coming on board. They will not tolerate failure.
