  1. I don't know yet. I'm waiting on the response from the source. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  2. I have the data. I have done dozens of tests on 10 Sprint devices including radio performance for 1x, EVDO, WiMax and LTE. I was prepared to do an article series on my testing, but now I'm holding it because of the Jelly Bean update on the EVO seems it may have altered the LTE connectivity with weak signals. The EVO signal in LTE used to bounce around by 10-12dBm when it got weak. And it was impossible to keep weak LTE signals unless it LTE only mode. That being said, I can tell you in my radio performance testing, that the EVO LTE is not a top RF performer. In 1x and EVDO, my testing yielded middle of the pack performance. In LTE performance, my testing of the EVO was pretty good with good signals, but near the bottom of other LTE devices with midrange and weak signals. But this may have changed with the improvements in Jelly Bean. Because of the signal strength is no longer bouncing around, it will likely keep the LTE connection and perhaps even improve in performance. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  3. Only about 3 or 4 of the 20 sites in Northern New Mexico have generators. And they may belong to other carriers for all I know. Not common at all around here. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  4. Welcome to S4GRU. Samsung recently started deployment in the East Iowa market ahead of schedule. They were not scheduled to start in the East Iowa and Central Iowa markets until Summer. They have made a jump to East Iowa pretty early. They are probably preparing to start early in your market too. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  5. Post Network Vision? Most. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  6. These are often the hardest places to deploy. We call them "High Barrier to Entry" areas. These are the NIMBYest bastards of all. They don't see the connection between opposing wireless towers and crappy coverage. Always amazes me. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  7. Valid point. However, we have had completed sites in launched markets that weren't live and sat there for months. One in Hesston, Kansas comes to mind. It was even shown on official Sprint coverage maps. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  8. If someone gets the Site ID from the site, people should post the pic of it so our moderators don't think you are posting Sponsor content. Easy enough. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  9. Who beefed? Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  10. The SF Bay market hasn't launched except for Fairfield and Santa Rosa. More sites coming online will increase capacity dramatically. We also get lots of performance variation in unlaunched markets. Still a lot of work going on...with the network with the LTE cores. Nothing to be concerned about at all. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  11. You can post the pics anywhere you want. If you reference the Site ID in your post, it must be in the Sponsor section. You can take a picture of the Site ID if posted and that is allowed in the public section. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  12. Vegas is not a good 3G market to begin with. Add hundreds of thousands of tourists for New Years and it gets worse. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  13. Not all sites show the ID in plain sight. Not even most. The bottom line is if the member gets the Site ID from the Sponsor section (or any data for that matter), then they cannot post it publicly. If they photo the Site ID, then they can show that in the public section. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  14. You can post here, unless you reference the Site IDs or info from the Sponsor forums. Then you should post them in Sponsor forums. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  15. I think all your Sponsor questions can be answered here: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/1195-information-about-s4gru-sponsorship-levels-and-how-to-become-a-sponsor/ Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  16. Actually I changed my mind and banned DetroitFlyer. I will not apologize for Sprint or make excuses for them. Sprint is months behind schedule in Michigan. So be it. But the first site completed in Howell, Michigan today. Your attack was very untimely. And since I have New Years Eve plans tonight, I don't have time for games. So I chose the path that was most expedient for my schedule. And that timing was unfortunate for a troll like DetroitFlyer. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  17. Become a sponsor and you will see the progress in our NV Sites Complete thread. Sensorly only shows what people report. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  18. I've seen that I have it but I haven't looked at it yet. I have guests over. My wife is making me be social. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  19. I heard from a source one of the sites in Howell, Michigan is now complete with LTE. It may or may not be live at this time. But Samsung is calling for inspection. Yay! Finally. Robert
  20. ATTENTION S4GRU MEMBERS: We have joined to collaborate with Sensorly on a thread here at S4GRU. Above is an embedded Sensorly Sprint LTE map for our member's use. In the thread below, feel free to post comments or questions related to the Sensorly coverage, the Sensorly app or other things relevant. Sensorly will stop by occasionally to participate in the conversation and answer some questions as they have time. Please be respectful and constructive with your questions and comments. We appreciate being able to have direct access with these guys, as the Sensorly app is such an integral part of what we wireless enthusiasts do to track Network Vision/LTE deployment. Robert
  21. I have no idea. And personally, I don't put much credence in the announced launches. The coverage is the same the day before the launch as the day after. The only thing that happens at launch is now the coverage shows up on the map and Sprint acknowledges the service is there. I'm more interested in sites going live, myself. Robert
  22. I remember when there was a 4-way stop sign at SR 16 and 21. Heck, I remember when SR 21 was a county road from Keystone to it's end at SR 20. Robert
  23. My grapes are slightly sour too. And like I mentioned in my plea above, these could definitely support 800 and LTE with a hot swap. And that's what they need to do. Robert
  24. My latency on Tmo is all over the place. Sometimes it will be in the high 100's and sometimes over a 1000ms. I know what you mean. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
  25. I never laugh at 2.5Mbps 3G speeds. Never. Robert via Samsung Note II via Tapatalk
