  2. So I figured out there is a way to check if a phone is using Calling+ or VoLTE without root. If engineering (not SCP) reports the PLMN as 310120, then it is not VoLTE. VoLTE only runs on 312530. That being said, a phone can be on 312530 but not use VoLTE (Pixel 2 for example). So being on 312530 is not sufficient to say that it is using VoLTE, but being on 310120 IS sufficient to rule out VoLTE being used. As for the "flag" Sprint uses to enable/disable it on supported devices, I suspect that they use the TAC. I think there is a hardcoded whitelist of TACs where it will be enabled. So they can change the TACs for a market to "enable" it, but by default it's "disabled". If this is the case, then Magic Box TACs are simply not whitelisted yet, even though it works fine on them. I've verified that VoLTE works on a Magic Box with at least the 440a firmware, and possibly earlier versions as well. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  3. You're referring to this: https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2019/04/lawsuit-atts-directv-now-is-a-flop-and-att-lied-to-investors-about-it/ That's not beyond the realm of possibility for Sprint... especially given how any lawsuit would occur subsequent to the alleged "lying". Sprint's FCC Filing is supported by empirical and highly confidential data on its adds/losses, churn, etc. throughout the report. I believe it shows a serious situation. Even more so, Sprint says in the Filing that its investor statements noting certain accomplishments shouldn't detract from the seriousness of its current predicament. See Pages 36-42 of the FCC Filing, which includes this: "The recent improvements in some financial metrics simply cannot, and do not, overcome these fundamental challenges:" On balance, I'm more willing to believe the information in the FCC Filing which specifically references and dismisses the investor statements than in the investor statements alone. If the redacted "highly confidential" information in the Filing was made available to investors, I believe Sprint stock would be substantially impacted... as that information reflects the ground truth of what's happening with Sprint.
  4. Then I hope whoever gets Sprint buys Dishes spectrum hell even uscc or New TMO Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk
  5. Dish does not have any money. They spent it all on spectrum.
  6. No change, plugged in or on battery Q beta 2 Pixel 2XL, I enabled the Bandwidth setting, but nothing is displayed. I sent in a diagnostic
  7. Your assumption is correct. That particular line supports HD voice, which is why I went with it.
  8. A merger is still a good thing. But I'm going to wait and see what happens before I comment any further. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Probably the PRL. It happens. I just hope they change it back because there are a few places where I have no Sprint data service where T-Mobile data service came in handy.
  10. ...and to what end?? It begs the question. I'm assuming to evaluate the quality of one's connection?
  11. Mike can only really report the value that the OS returns. The modem uses it to calculate when to send data, so that the eNB will receive it at the right/assigned time. The timing advance is basically an estimate of how much of a delay there will be from when it's transmitted until it's received. Or at least that's my understanding. From the time delay, if you multiply it by the speed of light (in air), you get an approximate distance. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  12. If the merger does fail, a name change and rebranding might be a good idea since the name Sprint makes people's head shake. My vote is on dish if it fails. Robert is right tho even John Ledger said it's not about wipeing out Sprint cause Sprint is part of New TMobile. The two become one but Sprint is still their with the name TMobile. 13. I agree with you [emoji817] ... A merger would be a good thing. I would even be satisfied with a tie up with a cable company. And those rumors of Sprint going away aren't true..I m glad they where not true.. I'm glad Sprint is still around honestly. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. I think the investor reports would be more accurate since they can't lie to investors unless they want to end up like AT&T with a lawsuit.
  15. It has been extremely accurate in my testing on both AT&T and Verizon. It's more reliable than RSRP value alone for identifying cell sites for me.
  16. Well Mike, I am actually about 16,000 feet from my cell site. The TA value is 33 (8451 feet) Not very accurate is it?
  17. Mike, this is a great update. I love the granularity of notifications now. This is excellent to track the issues going on with the S10 data dropping on certain bands.....You sir have created quite the app, thank you for your hard work!
  18. BTW, over on the Sprint thread about the data loss issues, they are releasing a "test" for this data issue to all the corporate stores. So if you think you are having data issues, head to a corp store tomorrow or after and they can verify your device is affected. I might swing by anyways and have mine tested. I'm not going to get a replacement quite yet if it fails. I'm not convinced they've got a single clue about how to actually fix this mess.
  19. Well, now I really don't know what's going on with my phone. I verified the lack of B25 data on what I thought were 3 different towers, but then on my way home today, I did get the dead data on B25 where I had in the past....but then I picked up B25 from another tower and it was sending/receiving just fine. Verified by SCP and by LTE engineering. So.....maybe we've got a bad tower or two here. This makes me quite happy if true. My B41^2 are around 70-105 down and 6-15 up.
  20. i loved the s10+ before this. i will add an update that I spent another 2 hours on the phone with samsung today and was directed BACK to repair store for what was supposed to be the final time. This time was not the final time to resolve the issue and samsung will no longer help me without sending my phone to them and going without while i wait. I called Sprint who have been very kind and informative but still unable to help until... i asked to cancel my account with 3 lines for over 17 years with the company. they have me waiting for expedited approval to credit my account the full remaing balance of the s10+ so that i can purchase a working device or i will leave for another carrier. i understand that Sprint is not at fault. but as they say "my hands are tied" and they are my middle man to Samsung. i do not want a penny of my money to go to samsung until the device is working as advertised so this was my only remaining way to do so. Otherwise switching carriers would enable them to pay the majority of the s10+ cost to switch to "lure" me. i will add that if Sprint comes through with this i will remember their effort to retain me as a customer.
  21. Ahhh I forgot to add that one to the help screen didn't I! That is LTE timing advance.. the distance displayed is approximately how far you are from that cell. It is typically only measured when data is flowing, that's why you will see it appear/disappear. -Mike

  23. Has something changed with the roaming agreements or prl? I never pick up us cellular LTE anymore and hardly ever get T-Mobile roaming like I did when I first got this phone.
