Update.

 

Fond du Lac, WI now has LTE available. As does Steven's Point, WI. Maps updated to reflect new Sensorly points.

 

Homosassa Springs, FL has been moved to the Pre-Launch group.

 

Faribault, MN has been moved to the Pre-Launch group.

 

Albert Lea and Owatonna, MN has LTE Available.

I was given a rough estimate of when the Rushville site will be on air with 4G...end of May. If that happens remains to be seen. They do have an easier time with that particular site as it already has fiber. Fiber (Cass Comm) was run to the Industry, Rushville, Frederick, Beardstown, Virginia, and Pleasant Plains towers when they were installed in 08-09.

I'm planning to attend the University of Illinois this fall and it would be nice to see some lte near urbana and champaign

 

It will get there eventually. I wouldn't be surprised to see LTE appearing in the next month or so in the central IL market. Once they start It seems like the first month or two goes kind of slow but after that things really move. I hope Sprint adds more coverage with them taking over the USCC PCS in the area. I doubt it will happen but one can always wish.

Just FYI

 

Orange Country California (Irvine, Lake Forest area) has been having an LTE signal turning on and off for weeks now. Hope they get it up and running soon.

 

Rancho Santa Margarita (where I live) has been having a steady LTE signal, just not over a wide area.

I just wish it was reliable. I know they're probablly still tweaking things, but that LTE signal in Irvine is hardly usable.

Until the market is launched, there's not much that can be done. Signals will come and go as testing and adjustments are done. Even after launched, the market will not be complete and work will continue. It will likely be several more months before LTE signals start to stabilize and become usable over a widespread region.

Surprised they have gotten anything done with all this rain. Glad to hear it is underway and I hope this improves the signal which seems to have dropped off according to the coverage maps. I have experienced it with my phone but as I posted elsewhere the radio isn't working right.

Bloomington/Normal is still garbage. Coming in to town on Veterans Parkway has things die once you get past Menards/Home Depot.

 

It'll likely get worse before I gets better. But now Samsung has started.

Amen to that, bloomington/normal is pretty much a huge dead zone... I basically get timeouts and dns errors everywhere in town.

Bad deal when it is impossible sometimes to even get a text message out. If you are leaving town (heading north on Veterans Parkway) - the data speeds are awesome once you get past Furniture Row/Menards. I have actually sat in the Menards parking lot and got 600-800kb down with my phone still hanging on to the tower in Lexington. As soon as I get out of the parking lot (before I cross Ft Jesse,) it grabs some tower in Blono that I am assuming is majorly overloaded.

 

Even farther north - near Chenoa - still on 3g, I have seen 1mb down!

 

Also saw that the tower that is nearest me (CH03IP807) is OEM'ed Samsung. I am about 6-7 miles away - will be interesting to see if/when they light up LTE here if I can get that near my house!

Hopefully NV helps with the congestion issue, right now unless its like 3 am data is completely useless. I was actually in the Sprint store next to Fresh Market this afternoon and even there the display phones timed out loading a simple page... I'll be so glad when LTE is rolled out. :)

I hope peoria area gets better Robert did you hear anything about this area yet i do have a update on a tower in washington il on cummins lane they ran a cable into the port area nothing hooked up yet though

Why are there two different pins for Daytona, Port Orange, Ormond?

 

Should there not be? Sprint lists the location as "Daytona Beach-Deltona-Ormond Beach," so I split it into three pins so you can see all the communities they are listing.

      Interesting, I saw this too on my AT&T S22 while roaming on US Cellular. I thought it was an Android bug since CellMapper was doing the same thing (didn't get a screenshot of that one). N66 makes more sense than N1.

      Thanks, that was good timing, I did see your report as I was buttoning up this latest update and added an override for that.. did it not work?   Ok, was that on AT&T also? Please send a report if you happen to see it again and safely have the opportunity. You can always do the long-press on the fly and then send a later one with an explanation pointing to the earlier one.. your username is attached to the long-press reports, so it's not an issue.

      I sent a report in earlier, n66 reporting as n1. There should be two different reports, I couldn't find the button the first time so I just long pressed the connection type to send, then I remembered where it was. I put a note about the issue on the 2nd report. Both reports from me are for the same issue. Also, it might have been on a prior release but earlier this week I also saw n66 reported as n65 on the app. I was driving and wasn't able to send a report in for that one.

      One more SCP beta rolling out.. includes more bugfixes and minor improvements. Pending any major issues with this version, it will be released to the public within a few days. Thanks for all the help and feedback!

      Passed by the former Sprint site at 1184 60th St in Brooklyn last week and noticed T-Mobile took down all of the Sprint equipment but it looked like they installed some new cabinets so conversion is likely in progress.
