Most speedway's are equipped with temporary towers on the back of tractor trailer rigs during race weekend's. It's any bodies guess if they have upgraded this equipment yet.

Those rigs do not stay permanently at the tracks though. Those rigs you speak of are COWs(Cell on Wheels). They move them into events when capacity will be high and need more to handle it... The race this weekend is at Daytona so I wouldn't expect any trucks sitting and turned on at AMS unless there is another event going on there.....which I highly doubt there is one that would call for a COW...

 

Also of note I haven't seen Sprint use any COWs that are equipped with LTE at NASCAR tracks yet... Both races in Charlotte in May, and October last year had the giant 18wheeler COW as usual in the infield but neither time was said COW equipped with LTE... There may be some that are but last year for major nascar track events they did not use any... Ill know in May if that same truck has been upgraded yet as I spoke to the driver last year and chatted about his loooooong journey driving track to track...

True; at least in the case of Atlanta, though, there are permanent LTE sites live in the area (sponsor maps would show the locations, which you could probably also get some sense of using Sensorly, no pun intended).

 

Having said that Sprint's DAS and COW deployment could use beefing up; woe betide anyone trying to use a Sprint phone for data at or around an SEC football game, for example. Hopefully that's something they can work on after NV is winding down.

I appreciate the work that was done on this map. However, if permits are being pulled in Phoenix, shouldn't it be categorized as "Coming soon"? Or, is this map entirely dependent on what Sprint officially announces?

I have been marking cities that have LTE available, but I will not do that very often, as I am guessing at which cities Sprint is actually going to announce. In order for a city to have a Coming Soon, or Pre-Launch pin, it has to have been announced by Sprint.

That was my point. Don't listen to anything a Sprint associate, specialist, or otherwise tells you.

 

I drive by a few towers every single day on my way to work in Phoenix. That's the best way to know for sure what's going on.

Puerto Rico has the most active launched lte. Also Daytona flordia becasue of Nascar why would you sponsor it and have no service Hahahaha

 

Actually its a toss up between us in Chicago and Puerto rico

Unfortunately there is no LTE in downtown Seattle yet. The marker you see in the map is just for a general area. Surrounding area's such as Kent and Redmond have seen some signs of LTE. I believe the best way to see where there is LTE is sensorly.

In the Sponsor section of S4GRU we have NV Sites Complete maps. They show every site in the country that Sprint has accepted complete from the OEM's. It gets updated every day or two.
