At&t confirmed selling on the 13th.

I really, really hope Sprint gets it soon. It's now confirmed for all of the other carriers. Sprint's the only one left in the dark.

Verizon is confirmed for the 12th with $199 on contract.

Pre-order page is now up on the Sprint website. All pre-orders get a free quickwindow case! Nice deal.

If that is a legitimate screenshot of the home screen, I can finally see it says 4G LTE.  Holy Cow! Sprint is finally allowing people to differentiate WiMax from LTE!

Just found the G2 posted on sprints website. Only says coming soon from what I can see.

EDIT: Sorry for double post.

Man... I kind of wish Sprint's marketing department would at least pump up the Tri-band capabilities of this phone. Those of us here already know that this phone is going to have Tri-band, and it's not like Sprint hasn't already announced their Tri-band network beforehand (http://newsroom.sprint.com/news-releases/get-ready-to-experience-two-of-the-first-tri-band-4g-lte-devices-from-sprint--netgear-zing-mobile-hotspot-and-netgear-usb-modem--available-july-19.htm). I don't even care if the release date of this phone is in November, at least they should hype it up. Maybe they'll announce the G2, GS4 Mini, and possibly the Note 3 all at once similar to what they did with their mobile hotspots.

Now that the summer vacation is over, I am working on a belated article for the LG G2 FCC OET authorizations.  Some of the data still seems to be missing, much like with the Optimus G last summer.  So, I am basically betting on a Class II Permissive Change filing down the road.  Similar to last year, that probably pushes the release back to later in the fall.

Is this the Class II Change?

so are you saying that the "4G" icon now says "4G LTE"?  I don't believe it until I see it.

No, be sure to read the entire article. I already noted and linked that first Class II filing.

For some reason, I can't img this due to permissions...But, here's a screenshot of their landing page.  I'm thinking this is a screencapture of the actual device because I haven't seen that status bar layout on any of the others, either.

Do you know what these numbers mean in the FCC doc?

No, not exactly without greater context. But they look like peak to average figures, probably conducted not radiated, and not really part of our concern.

This page has been up for at least a week or two.

Looks to have only been up since Sept 3rd per the web address:  "CHP:RG:LG:20130903"

No mention of the page on here before the 5th.

Nevertheless, it is good to see some forward movement by Sprint to get the phone out when they can.

Better late than never.  :)

I really hope Sprint will carry the 32GB edition at the same time as the 16GB...If there's no removable storage, I need at least 32.

I'm pretty sure there isn't removable storage but I'll bet Sprint will carry the 32GB version though. More of your money to take.

Yeah, I'm hoping Sprint doesn't do what they did with the s3 - start selling the 16gb edition but have limited stock on the 32, and take FIVE EVER to restock.

    • Your referring to the $25.00 a month Infinite Unlimited plan?  I don't see any other plans on there even cheaper than that on their website.  I was looking at the Motorola 2023 Edge fwiw as well for $10.00 a month.
    • A heavy n41 overlay as an acquisition condition would be a win for customers, and eventually a win for T-Mobile as that might be enough to preclude VZW/AT&T adding C-Band for FWA due to spreading the market too thinly (which means T-Mobile would just have local WISPs/wireline ISPs as competition). USCC spacing (which is likely for contiguous 700 MHz LTE coverage in rural areas) isn't going to be enough for contiguous n41 anyway, and I doubt they'll densify enough to get there.
    • Boost Infinite with a rainbow SIM (you can get it SIM-only) is the cheapest way, at $25/mo, to my knowledge; the cheaper Boost Mobile plans don't run on Dish native. Check Phonescoop for n70 support on a given phone; the Moto G 5G from last year may be the cheapest unlocked phone with n70 though data speeds aren't as good as something with an X70 or better modem.
    • Continuing the USCC discussion, if T-Mobile does a full equipment swap at all of USCC's sites, which they probably will for vendor consistency, and if they include 2.5 on all of those sites, which they probably will as they definitely have economies of scale on the base stations, that'll represent a massive capacity increase in those areas over what USCC had, and maybe a coverage increase since n71 will get deployed everywhere and B71 will get deployed any time T-Mobile has at least 25x25, and maybe where they have 20x20. Assuming this deal goes through (I'm betting it does), I figure I'll see contiguous coverage in the area of southern IL where I was attempting to roam on USCC the last time I was there, though it might be late next year before that switchover happens.
    • Forgot to post this, but a few weeks ago I got to visit these small cells myself! They're spread around Grant park and the surrounding areas, but unfortunately none of the mmwave cells made it outside of the parks along the lake into the rest of downtown. I did spot some n41 small cells around downtown, but they seemed to be older deployments limited to 100mhz and performed poorly.
