Network Vision/LTE - Orange County Market (Anaheim/Santa Ana/Irvine/Huntington Beach)

Thanks.  I'm hoping this is the case and I see the magical LTE letters on my phone soon.  I'm still getting LTE at my job in Orange on the corner of La Veta and Main but only when I'm up on the 11th floor.  Once I leave the building, it's back to 3g.

Are the customers with Virgin Mobile included in the 4G availability in Orange County? It's under Sprint's network. I've been through the places where Sensorly states there is some 4G coverage but my phone picks it up as 3G. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

What's going on with the network here in Newport? I was getting NV 3G speeds and for the past two days now I can barely get a decent signal where I usually get full bars at my house.

From 1.48MBps to 0.02MBps? Perhaps LTE will finally find a place to settle here. It's about time:)

I have noticed the same thing. It's normally a great thing cause I have seen LTE come right after

  • 2 weeks later...

Something I recently came across, not sure if you guys already new about it and I didn't know if I should have started a new thread. There is 600 MHz spectrum going up for auction. Does anyone know how much is going up for sale? Will it a lot better than the 850 MHz sprint will soon deploy or just slightly better? Also, newb question; Sprint is currently rolling lte in 5x5, will they eventually do 10x10 in the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz or only the 2600 MHz?

Thanks in advance,

JN

-2016-2017 before anyone can even think of implementing 600 mhz service.

-Sprints deployment will be 5x5 for SMR 800, 5x5 for PCS 1900 & carrier aggregation later on, and 20mhz for TDD-LTE 2.5ghz w/ carrier aggregation.

How easy would it be for the big two to aggregate if they deployed lte in a similar fashion but for say 15x15 or 20x20? Also, after the 2600mhz is deployed does that mean Sprint will be able to do a 20x20 configuration?

EVO 3D user here that is due for an upgrade.  How is the LTE in orange county so far?  I've been battling with drop calls and super slow 3G network on my EVO 3D.  My guess is that I need to upgrade to a LTE phone, but before I do so; has the LTE service stablized?

I considering switching over to AT&T or Verizon if they're still working on upgrading the towers.

Check out sensorly, it is pretty accurate. As for 3g it will probably be similar. LTE is definitely becoming more filled.

So... Any updates in Orange County?

I can tell you work has begun on OG35XC198. New panels are on the ground and the cabinet had been delivered. This tower is no joke 10 feet from my building. It's at Sprints data center in Irvine off Teller Ave. I get great service btw :P. One would with a tower a hop and a skip away. Oh and they have been doing a lot of work at the data center. A year ago they ripped up the road for new under ground cabling and now they are adding more transformers for power and looks to be cooling and possibly a extra  back up generator will be added in the mix. Just what it looks like to me.

So the OC and LA markets will not be able to use the 800mhz due to the US/Mexico agreement?

I haven't heard of that. LA and OC markets should have 800 MHz LTE
