Network Vision/LTE - Tampa Market

I just drove by a crew working on the tower North east corner of 66th and 54th north. Maybe someone can confirm if that is a sprint tower, i did not have time to stop and see what crew was working there.

That's the one I took the photo of the tower dogs on I posted here.

Wildman I'm gonna drive by that site in Seminole to see if anything is going on today

Seems like a number of sites have been or are being worked on there. With possibly some testing going on I'm waiting to see someone with some Sensorly hits over there.

I was gonna cruise some of the other deployment threads and see how long after seeing panels were they getting hits of LTE. The pic I took this weekend that showed the trench line looked like it's done but hard to say because the cabinets were facing away from me. Another yesterday had the slab with the footing ready and but looked like it had been there for awhile. The one by your wifes job I can't get a good look at because of where the equipment is. I have the Sprint and Nextel gate lock codes but I'm reluctant to use them but I have found if you have a camera and tablet people tend to think you are official.. Social engineering at its finest I guess.

Ah, has anyone seen permits pulled for pinellas park? It has been several weeks since i seen them working on the tower at us 19 and mainlands blvd. I drive by it everyday so i will try and get photos so you can determine if it is the new LTE panels.

I have been monitoring the forums a long time now, first time post. I commute between I4/I75 and I4/I 275 and have been seeing 4g icon turning on my phone (I assume this has something to do with NV). I just captured these speeds outside my work, but they drop to 200 kbps once inside...

Which device is this? A Galaxy Nexus? And where are you seeing the signal at? Can you run the Sensorly app so we can see the coverages appear on their maps and we can plot the deployment progress in the area? Thanks for the report.

You also likely have a very weak LTE signal. You can read this thread to figure out how to get the RSRP signal strength reading from your device: http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2040-bars-lie-for-lte-signal-strength-how-to-determine-your-actual-lte-signal-strength/

I drive that area all the time recently and have not seen LTE. Leaving airport now to I4 then to I75 south to Apollo Beach and will let you know.

(update) - Just as I thought, I take this route quite a bit and nothing. I don't think there is as much work going on over on this side of town as there is all the work going on in St. Pete.

Well there are a lot of streets that can get you from I-75 to I-275 so he can easily be on another tower that you missed. Soon I'll have an LTE phone so I can join the hunt lol.

LOL, not troll. I work off of Nebraska and Henderson. Just North of the old section 8 housing they tore down. I started noticing my phone changing to the 4g icon last week in the morning, but it doesn't seem to do it in the afternoon's...I am not sure what that is all about. I will run sensory tomorrow and share the results. I have a Google Nexus 4g LTE

Well you name does begin with Tro.. Lol I'm kidding kinda but if you're seeing it stop for a min get the signal and run Sensorly.. That would be great to map the first Tampa site that's for sure..

Man the JAX and Orlando markets are kicking Tampa's tale... With LTE found south west of JAX and in Cocoa ( I assume Cocoa is in the Orlando Market). Hopefully we will feel the love soon.

I don't know if they are kicking our butts.. They are not that far ahead. I have said this before in a post but I believe when Tampa lites up its gonna do it big, with a huge area. Pinellas will be ground zero for the start and my guess is from South St. Pete to at least Pinellas Park. Of course if I'm wrong forget everything I just said lol

The Tampa market does cover that area.. Do you get to the Oldsmar area at all.. I didn't get a chance this past weekend to check a site that had a permit pulled.. If you're close you could check it out if you get by there

I'm going to ride Hillsborough, then down to Columbus home from the airport today to cover some different areas that would cover the spot he mentioned. I do pass not far from the Nebraska location every day.

[update] - Drove from the airport east on Hillsborough, went south on Nebraska all the way to SR-60. Nothing. Then I went down 60 east till I-275. Just before getting to I-275 I glanced to my left and saw a tower behind the Comfort Suites on the north side of Adamo Drive just west of Falkenburg http://bit.ly/RUq0Ka. The network.sprint.com site shows a site near there, but it shows it on the other side of the road down a bit. What was interesting about this tower is that I thought there was a mighty big bird on the top from a distance, then realized it was a crew up there hoisting things up. I thought I saw on one side a panel with the RRU configuration that we have seen before, but not sure. I'll have to go back with the zoom lens and get a few shots to see. Could be once again another AT&T crew. I'll check it out. I have a feeling though it might be a T-Mobile site.

[update] - according to T-Mobile towers, the guys up there are working in a T-Mobile site. http://bit.ly/TI0FBE

So, in the end, drove a bit out of my way on my way home today but nothing found beneficial to us.
