Take it for what it's worth - I searched Twitter for 'LTE columbus' and a few random people were talking about it.

 

iPhone users can post screen shots of a GPS capable map application of their location with the LTE signal for proof.  Android users can lay down some purple.  Proof is in the purple.  Put or shut up is one of my motto's in life.  Otherwise we're just doing the State Farm commercial and I'm a french model.

Not bad for the first couple days after launch. I'm sure there will be some fine tuning. Also, not bad considering you're behind concrete walls.

 

Though I don't see why it's hard to post screenshots, I posted mine last night of 3G speeds I got at Easton. Just upload to imgur and copy the link here. Or use the img functionality online.

Thanks for your updates. Very interesting that going into your phone's settings and posting the version number it shows for your PRL is your line in the sand of contribution

PRL version should not matter for LTE.  They have had LTE scans enabled all across the US for a year now, give or take.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate since some do not know how to take screenshots and post them or are unable to download Sensorly on their Android phones.

And the rumor would have continued...  but it looks like it has been squashed and is now proven by the map.

No doubt they'll be tweaking it.  Not to mention, I imagine it being the only tower with the bandwidth would make it more burdened. Certainly not a bad start.  I am curious to know if any other towers have been flipped on to LTE.  I am hoping there is so momentum building.

Fixed it for you. 

 

Speedtests will be highly dependent on the LTE signal.  I highly recommend the SignalCheck app written by mikejeep (S4GRU member).  It shows you the LTE signal in your status bar of your phone, since the signal bars near your clock is just your 1X connection strength for voice/SMS.

First time posting, as I am not a mobile expert but I do have some knowledge on the IT and Computer Engineering side of things. One of the things I've routinely noticed with Spring 3G and now it even looks like Scooter's recent 4G post is the high Ping time. This number is much higher than what I typically find on other networks, i.e. this is more of a "lag time" rather than the actual width of the pipe (Mbps). I was wondering if this could be a result of a poor DNS server on Sprint's end and not necessarily a limitation of the network or backhaul. Does anyone know if this could be the case or if it is possible to change the DNS settings (to Google for example)? I have an iPhone 5 but would be curious if anyone is able to test this by changing to Google DNS (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/). I am hoping one of the many Android users out there may be able to test, since I will admit you typically have more customization options than I do.
