  1. I've got it. I've done some mapping before, I don't often have the app running though. I will do so. Especially if I do any putzing around. While I probably won't make the members meet, I think it's awesome you guys are doing it.
  2. Thanks a ton. I kept searching for a GMO informational post on the site, but just couldn't find it, don't think the search function was working - or my brain or something. That made it crystal clear for me. And now makes much, much more sense. I am definitely not alone. No doubt they assessed the potential subsriber count on these towers and ranked them low priority. The only thing that is less clear is, it doesn't sound like GMOs offer much of improvement. In many cases it doesn't sound like they would offer improved signal propogation. However, I definitely noticed a very slight improvement. I don't have to go outside to talk anymore. This has me wondering too - is winter better for cell signal in rural areas. I don't have an awesome understanding of signal propogation, but vegetation does a good job decreasing propogation of wind and noise, does it do the same for cell signal?
  3. Thanks, that helps a lot! So at this point, if it's already upgraded, odds are it's going to stay that way, at least for a bit, and that amount of time is unknown. I do find it odd though, I'd think in rural areas, where coverage has to be so spread out, they'd be really gunning to get 800 mhz moving. And looking at the towers up around here and other rural areas, it seems like there were good about upgrading many of the towers along the more major roads in those areas, but the more remote sites seems stuck as GMOs. That is a very unscientific analysis as I haven't put much time into looking at it, but that's just what it seems like. That said I technically live right on one of those major roads. And what's annoying for me is, running rt 3 from westerville straight to mount vernon, and this stretch of rt 3 near where I live is now the only remaining spotty connection. There used to be some other weak spots, but those got corrected with the upgrades. I suppose I may just need to buckle and get an airrave if I want consistant usability.
  4. Ahah, but you mean Rave movie theater, (or well, Cinemark now owns them). There is 4g on Polaris, I hadn't looked that closely, but thought the signal reached to the Chase Complex on Polaris. Ah well. So on an irrelevent note. I asked this before, but I guess the answer didn't register at the time, so I am going to ask and understand it this time. 3g GMO sites, if they are GMO, will they not be getting 800 mhz at all, or 4g for that matter? Or are just some of them getting 800 MHz at different times from their upgrade? I mostly ask because of 2 specific towers (I won't include here, I could put it in the sponsor thread I suppose) up in Mount Vernon, (west of Mount Vernon, I live on the west edge of mount vernon, and by edge I mean it is a fraction of a mile until I am in centerburg) off route 3. The tower I usually connect to is on Dunham rd, but it's a GMO, and naturally I want to know if it will ever see 800 mhz. The good news is, since upgrading the tower, cell service is considerably more usable in the house. But you have to be careful where you are in the house when trying to use it. But I'd love it to be perfect.
  5. Of course, they have LTE near zanesville and a tower in Granville. Unless of course you didn't mean that far. If we're talking the east site of columbus, it doesn't look like much progress is being made inward yet. Suspect that will come later. I see them creeping into Westerville finally, would definitely welcome some more upgrades there, it's where I work.
  6. Hmm, so it looks as if we've hit a small lull in the progress they were making. No new accepts since the 31st. Which, was pretty normal over a month ago, and we got spoiled. hopefully things will pick back up soon?
  7. Cburg joint fire station, tower by it. I got 12 mb yesterday. But today I got that.
  8. Wowsers Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk now Free
  9. And now I am spoiled. No new accepts yesterday I take it?
  10. lol. Well you very clearly beat me to it.. I did do sensorly though. So that's there. Speed test came back with about 12 mb
  11. Yeah, my buddy was driving to my place and told me he saw 4g when passing through there. I was pretty excited to hear it, and sure enough I saw the tower, the one by the Cburg joint firehouse has been accepted. I didn't see mapping, so I will do it on my way home this evening. I live just a bit off 36 just east of of Mt Liberty, so it's definitely in my neck of the woods.
  12. What I am exited about is 6 LTE sites turned on in a single week. Which as you said we already knew. That message seems to simply confirm that. And based off all of that, we can likely reason they are about to pick up the pace? We'll see more than 1 LTE site every couple weeks moving forward we can hope?
  13. Ok, ok. That's fair. I am the worlds biggest cheap @$$. People who know me, know I am slow to put money to anything. But good information ain't truly free. So here I go.
  14. New live LTE sites? Well that's good news. I'd ask where, but methinks you would have already included it if you weren't directing us to the sponsor thread.. lol
  15. Ah yes. I believe I am experiencing this quite a bit. My daily drive home is about 27 miles up rt 3, from westerville, passed Centerburg, but before Mount Vernon. I sometimes talk on the way home. I have found, several areas during the drive, where the call will drop - as the signal gets crappy, the bars on the phone will go from a couple bars to many more, sometimes full bars, but it then drops the call. And I can immediately place or receive another call. (It's a split second peak at the phone, I don't like to take my eyes off the road now). I've been guessing the cause to be this incompatibility with the new and old equipment. In other news, they seemed to have cured the dead spot I used to have passing through Mount Liberty along the way.
  16. I hadn't been checking the site as much lately. But oh was I surprised when camping at Alum Creek state park to see that 4g logo pop up. I forgot to actually map it. I did turn sensorly on while sitting around the camp fire. As a result, you will see a random purple dot in the middle of the camp grounds. That is my contribution.. lol!! I didn't take screen shots, but I ran a speed test good for about 7 mbps. Was pretty cool. What was annoying is I seemed to have decent enough signal, (Although if I recall rightly, the "bars" are not a proper indicator of 4g strength). But it kept wanting to drop back to 3g. If I ran LTE Discovery, it'd find it imediately, and it would hold it for a while, but every so often it just revert to 3g, and wouldn't change back with out the discovery app. I have an HTC One, my buddy's GS3 seemed to hold the 4g though.
  17. Does sprint have a single LTE 800 capable phone yet? I imagine they soon will if not.
  18. Alright, so run the LTE Discovery App and keep it running while mapping in sensorly?
  19. So, I never did ask. I installed the app, but wanted to make sure I understood this correctly. So sensorly on it's own will not map out sprint LTE? I have the LTE discovery app now installed, but when I start, it cycles through the connections, it just seems to spend a lot of time kicking the phone into airplane mode. But I am not clear on how it should work. Maybe someone can educate me
  20. Looks like a new dark purple sploch near Huson and i71. Another site get accepted?
  21. I assume when you say not a lick of 4g from the tower, you mean no one has mapped it? But that it is in fact 4g now. If so, I second the question, where in fredericktown? Probably not far from me.
  22. I will make sure to keep Sensorly running over the next couple days. I live off route 3 in mount vernon on the edge of Centerburg, and frequently hot up 37 to 71 so I should be able to map some of that. Not to mention the tower up in my neck of the woods that is working.
  23. I was pretty excited to see that 3rd tower up near me. Looks like it doesn't quite hit rte 3 though. So I don't suppose I will see it when driving into town. Never the less, I will sensorly it! Getting closer! Now gimme that 800 mhz so I can have my fully usable sprint signal at home!
  24. Does the Galaxy Nexus have a really strong antenna, or does sensorly not report signal strength properly on it?
  25. Did another tower go live? Noticed on the Sensorely map that when going north of Morse it fades out, but there is now some pretty dark purple near on 71n right near where it hits 270 near westerville. Then it stops of course, but still it goes from light signal to very strong signal right there. Wonder if a tower in that area went live and it just hasn't been mapped yet.
