  1. The ERP/EIRP numbers looks not so good, espeically B26... of course B41 doesn't hold a candle to the new iphone 6...... I'll have to read the real life experience review on reception performance before deciding on this phone comparing the purely the B26 to the HTC One Max, which is my current daily phone HTC One Max ERP/EIRP B25 21.85 dBm B26 15.11 dBm B41 15.80 dBm In my experience so far, by the time the B25 signal degrade so much that the tower switch me from B25 to B26 with that kind of ERP/EIRP performance, I'm getting nearly the same RSRP on B26 as compared to B25. which mean I maybe getting a little bit more extra reach/coverage, but not any speed/performance benefit when being bumped to B26. at this stage where the B25 to B26 hand off happen, I'll usually be lucky to pull in more than 3mbps download The Note4 B26 ERP/EIRP only seems to be a little bit better than the One Max in this regard, with similar ERP/EIRP figure to the Iphone 6 B26 and HTC M8 B26 (both in the 18 dBm range). Is there some reason why B26 ERP/EIRP seems to be consistently worse than other band?
  2. I'm kind of in the same boat, not necessarily iphone related, but wondering if Sprint worldphone with Spark can enjoy regular GSM + TDLTE service in China where TDLTE is available, using a China Mobile sim card. I know 3G won't work as China Mobile 3G is not regular HSPA+ eager to find out As far as international unlock goes, I think you have to be either a long time customer, or out of contract, or you paid for your phone outright with no financing in order to get the the international unlock?
  3. LTE speed is highly signal strength dependent (assuming air wave and back haul are not saturated). So i think ideally you want to be on B26 as much as possible anyway as that will give you a better signal strength compare to B25 at the same location.
  4. you can still add members to Framily, the plan is just not marketed anymore, at least according to FierceWireless article "Sprint will continue to allow customers to add subscribers to their Framily plan, but Sprint will stop marketing the Framily plans" http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/analysts-sprints-new-shared-data-plans-not-disruptive-enough-change-its-for/2014-08-19
  5. how do these new plans stack with employee discount? with the Everything family i get my employee discount off the first/primary line, data is not discounted at all. So does the new plan discount the $100 data pack portion? or 1 line of the $25/$15/$40 portion? If the latter, this basically nerf employee discount into uselessness. like hescominsoon, I can't see this new plan being more cost effective than the Everything Family plan... even during the discount/promotion period
  6. That's interesting tidbits about B26 power level.... I look forward to when they turned up the power all the way which hopefully wlil help improve the lousy reception on my HTC One Max.... alas... premier sponsor access is (for me) a bit too costly
  7. I have an one max, the reception is pretty bad on it actually compare to the N5 (my wife have a none-spark GS4 and for B25 it consistently carry 5-10dbi better than my One max at the same location). With that in mind, my personal experience with the One max has been, In a typical office building, (unless you happen to be right next to a tower...) if you have B41 outside, moving more than 10 ft from a external windows would drop to B25, another 10 ft or so or if there are some walls easily drop into B26... inside elevator pretty much lucky to get 3G.
  8. Commenting the route between STL and chicago, assume you meant STL to be St. Louis? In that case, you pretty much have LTE coverage almost all the way, except for the stretch by Springfield, and maybe occasional deadspot depending on your phone's reception. In downtown if you are using the N5 in your signature, you should be happily sucking data through B41 when you aren't deep inside a building.
  9. Can a one max do that now? i know we couldn't do it when it first came out, but i didn't keep/follow up with the topic
  10. Oh which part/building? I'm in the office building across from the Oak Brook shopping centers
  11. Well now that i paid more attention, yes I see B26 popping up every now and then here in metro chicago area, but a bit different than compared to when i was in austin texas where I was almost exclusively on B26, the rest of the time I'm more llkely to be on B41. In Chicago, I'm still mostly on B25 (original or USCC channel), only occasionaly do I see B26, and B41 services are still spotty in area I frequents
  12. Will 8T8R require new phone? or can currently released phone take advantage of 8T8R? this giga ohm article say this is being tested in chicago? Do we have a list of 8T8R location? I'm based in the metro chicago area http://gigaom.com/2014/06/23/sprints-8-antenna-lte-tech-moves-out-of-the-labs-and-into-chicago/
  13. I've seen the second carrier quite frequently, but not the B26, I guess I'll pay more attention to signal check and dump the log again to double check
  14. Huh, thought my location already shows up under the avatar... guess not... Southwest Burb in Dupage/Will... Bolingbrook, Naperville, Lisile, Downers Grove, Oak Brook, Westmont, ETC
  15. I'm still waiting for B26 to be turn on here out in the burbs, having experinced B26 out in Austin Texas, gave me much more consisetent LTE connection
  16. on B41 Upload speed in my experience with my One MAX are HIGHLY dependent on signal strength, even more so than download, with a bad signal where I can still pull download 10-15mbps where my upload may not break 1mbps, where on the same tower if i get closer to the tower and get near full bar, i can get 40+mbps down and 10+mbps upload
  17. There was some mention that the GPS issue may "possibly" be related to 800mhz B26 LTE.... sounds far fetch but several user report their GPS even on different devices have been going bonky about the time they saw B26 LTE and I know mine been like that since i traveled to Austin Texas and hit B26 LTE but its still having issue back in chicago without B26 LTE generally I'm kind of disappointed with the reception performance of the one max, signal is consistently weaker than the S4 on B25 and B41 reception is always bad anywhere unless you happen to be very close to a tower. LTE performance speed wise have alot to do with signal strength (when the airwave or backhaul is not congested) Typically when my phone scan and lock on to B41, the signal is so low that the speedtest would be little if any faster than B25 at the same location. but moving closer to the tower and improving the B41 signal strength increases speed by alot (i have hit 40-60mbps on good signals -80dbm or so).
  18. Still sad that Springfield (southeastern area by I55 and the power plant) still dont have LTE. I travel there roughly once a month on business trip
  19. I'm traveling in the Austin, TX area and for the first time my phone is pulling Band 26 800mhz LTE
  20. Wow this thread is really quiet! I'm traveling in this area, am Pulling Band 26 800 LTE as well as Band 41 in the I35-290 and I35-111 area
  21. Just my luck, i was there early last week for business travel and missed it... Where was this? NE springfield? (ie NE of clear lake and 9th st?) or somewhere else?
  22. Closest intersection would be N Naper Blvd and Meadow Lake Drive
  23. I also latched onto the uscc spectrum, this was in northeast Naperville bordering lisle, forgot to run a speed test doh...
  24. I have to say, I'm a bit disappoint with how often my Max loses network connection (triangle notification icon). I've also been missing call lately (never ring but got VM notification)
